  1. Whereabouts in Wales? I used these guys to respray the front bumper on my m3 a couple of years ago and they did a good job. http://1stclassbodyrepair.co.uk/
  2. Don't hold your breath but I will post pics if I go ahead.
  3. That depends entirely on the abilities of the person doing the repair. A good one would be worthwhile, a bad one is just money down the drain. I appreciate this doesn't help much, but it's all I've got. Definitely before. The painter will need to remove the protection added by detailer if done before, and may undo more of the detailer's hard work. Assuming a competent detailer of course, the above advice applies to the detail as well as smart repair. Thanks, think I'll take the car down to ti22 at some point and see what they can do for me.
  4. 5am on a summer Sunday morning is probably the best time to be on the road, nothing around and it's light!
  5. OP, have you driven any of these cars? You sound a little like me when I look for cars, trying to make up my mind before I've actually had a good poke around and a drive of the various options. The 350z is a really nice car and the modding potential is huge (if that's your thing). Just remember that a 6/7 year old car is never going to match a brand new car for gadgets and condition (but might make up for it in other ways), if you are comparing the zed to a brand new GT86 I think you probably need to have a good thing about exactly what you want from your new car. FWIW, I'm pondering selling mine at the moment as I have a baby on the way in December and reckon a two seater sports car is probably not ideal baby transport.
  6. I recently put a pair of F1s on the arse end of my zed and they are excellent, really grippy and quieter that the previous rubber I had on there. I've had Falkens previously, though not the 453 and not on the zed but, they were pretty good for a significantly cheaper tyre.
  7. Anyone got an opinion on the above? Is a smart repair worth having done? If so, is it better to have it done before or after a proper detail?
  8. Thanks for posting this, I've had problems with my phone randomly switching off for over a year (seemingly battery life related). Turns out I have an eligible handset. Pleased I can get it sorted but annoyed it's taken apple so long!
  9. Glad I spotted this thread, my headlights look rubbish so I think I'll have a crack with this megs kit.
  10. Ouch, that looks like a hard shunt, glad no one was hurt.
  11. Thanks. Stupid thing is I'm plenty confident out on the road, instructors have had very little extra instruction to give me. Just got a bit nervous and didn't relax enough during the test I think. Feel very down at the moment and next Thursday seems a long way off.
  12. Perfect run apart from dabbing a foot down in the figure 8 (automatic fail). Nerves got the better of me, let the engine revs drop and let the clutch out too much so sudden engine braking did me in. I'm not going to say it's unfair because the rules are clear. On the flip side, the guy from my training school that did his test at the same time failed to do the avoidance manoeuvre (rode straight through) but was allowed to redo it and passed. If that had been a car pulling out on him he'd have gone over the bonnet so that seems a bit ridiculous to me. Absolutely gutted. Retest next Thursday.
  13. Had my training for mod 1 today, test on Tuesday. Wish me luck!
  14. I was rather hoping for more pics of the cat, looks like mine. Beautiful bike though!
  15. Get on and do it or you could end up doing it 6 years later like me! Also, I expect bike prices to drop a bit over the next few months so it is probably a good time to buy.
  16. I agree with you up to a point. I'm a big believer in starting 'small' and working your way up with experience (it's exactly what I did with cars) however, there is a big difference between a 16 year old (with the maturity of most 16 year olds) with no road experience and a 30 year old (with the maturity of most 30 year olds) with 13 years experience driving on the road in all conditions. I considered buying a 125 for a few months but frankly, I'm 16 stone and 6 foot tall, it wouldn't be particularly comfortable for me. The biggest thing controlling your speed on a bike is your own right hand and I like to think I'm mature enough to ride within my limits just as I do in my car. For the most part what I am learning is bike control, I'm already a very observant defensive driver and I won't bike any less defensively (though I will be doing additional training). There's also a big difference between a 600 4 cylinder sports bike and a twin 600 sports tourer. That sounds a little elitist if you don't mind me saying. Why does it matter when one comes to biking?
  17. Hi skahigh,.......................... ..................i did it viceversa After riding 32 years on two wheels without an accidenti had a bad crash last year. so i promised my wife not to buy another bike ,.....my decision was to own a 350Z.......................And the decision was good Lovely bikes! Such a shame that 32 years of safe biking can be outweighed by just one accident.
  18. I think a blade would scare the pants off me, the bandit felt quick enough!!
  19. I've just switched to admiral, £300 fully comp with protected no claims, happy with that!
  20. Parallels is a virtual machine provider. You will need a copy of Windows to install in to the virtual hardware that Parallels provides.
  21. Lovely bikes, you obviously like your liveries. Might need a new months of riding on my own before I'm happy to go out with someone else but thanks for the offer, I'll look forward to it next summer.
  22. Probably varies between the three versions? You might need to be more specific.
