  1. Thanks, I shall search unless you can point me to a useful resource.
  2. ...or have it hydro dipped. Any idea on cost? Where to get it done? How easy are the door handles to remove? I havn't been able to work out how to get the button off the centre compartment door.
  3. Looking at this post in the zeds for sale section I noticed the plastic around the door handle seems to have a lot of little scratches. My car suffers exactly the same as well paint having come off the button to open the compartment above the stereo. Is this a common problem to all zeds, a particular model year or just an odd coincidence? My car is not exactly heavily used at only 34k miles in 7 years!
  4. Never heard of these, need to buy a whole raft of new cleaning supplies so I'll be putting this on my list.
  5. Not a recent spot but, I often see an orange 350z with Nismo spoiler parked up on Caerleon Road in Newport (S. Wales). Is it a members car?
  6. Oh well I didn't know this, I torqued mine to 120nm and don't appear to have done any damage (hopefully).
  7. Yep just put a small amount of grease on the studs, I did it this week, used regular multi purpose grease though as copper grease is not actually essential and I already had some in the garage.
  8. Android has mirror link I think which is supposed to be a cross device standard, as usual apple has to go the proprietary route. I've just put an AppRadio in my car and although it's not perfect it suits my needs just fine. Much cheaper than a full nav head unit too!
  9. I've spent today installing mine and it literally took me all day and was not hassle free. If Halfords can actually do it for £30 then it's probably a good price I'd have thought.
  10. Well as ridiculous as it is, it looks like I wasted £8 on that aerial adapter as it doesn't seem to be needed at all. Installed today and seems to be working nicely! Thanks for your help Meeerrrk.
  11. These are the four products I bought from ICT. Aerial adapter with the unexpected blue lead is 21-118.
  12. Reading the description of the aerial adapter on the ICT website it says "Also used as half of the cable needed when fitting an FM modulator." Is the blue wire used to connect to an FM modulator and of no use to me?
  13. Thanks very much. Are you saying I need to attach A to C? I guess I could either cut the connector off C and solder them together or attach an equivalent connector to A. The aerial adapter is plugged into the head unit on the far right, there is a black cable that comes out to the grey connector on the far right of the picture, D is then a bare ended blue wire which comes out of the grey connector. Any ideas what this is?
  14. Yep I actually did this but I think it's just really stiff, I'll try using pliers or tweezers to pinch and pull the connection as bare fingers doesn't seem to work for me.
  15. Hello, as mentioned in a previous thread I have just bought a Pioneer app radio and have also bought the ICT loom etc. that I need to replace the existing Bose head unit on my 57 plate zed. Now all the bits have been delivered I am having a play with the cable to see how it all fits together and all seems to be going well bar one or two connections I'm not sure on. In the image above the blue and white cable labelled with A and B is part of head unit cabling and is labelled 'System Remote Control'. C is part of the ICT cabling and is labelled 'Amplifier Remote turn on'. D is attached to the aerial adapter that was supplied by ICT and is a bare end wire. Regarding connecting B, the Pioneer manual states: "The pin position of the ISO connector will differ depending on the vehicle type. Connect *6 (the left side of the connector B in the photo above) to *7 (the right side of the connector B in the photo above) when Pin 5 is an aerial control type. In other types of vehicles, never connect *6 and *7." I've sort of been following the super guide in the stickies but Kenwood seems slightly more complicated than the Pioneer unit I have. 1. As per the quote from the manual above, is pin 5 (the solid blue wire in the ICT cabling) an aerial control type? Should I leave this connected as it is currently? 2. In the super guide in the stickies it is suggested that the amplifier remote turn on (C above) should be attached to a blue and white wire from the head unit, in my case should I be connecting this to A above? 3. Should D attach to A? If not, what should be done with D? Any help gratefully appreciated. Jon
  16. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_991017_langId_-1_categoryId_165655 Also have a £25 voucher which will knock the price down a touch more
  17. Brilliant thanks all, I've ordered these four items from InCarTec, does that look right? Also reserved an appradio 3 at my local Halfrauds (£299.99 seems like a decent price looking around online?)
  18. Thanks, this does seem like the product for me.
  19. Yep I tried this too but it still didn't budge Is the connector latch on the windscreen side or on the side towards the rear of the car?
  20. Argh, I'm an idiot, I've posted this in the wrong section, I mean't to post it in 350z ICE. Mods could this be moved please?
  21. Hi guys, Have just been and taken my dash apart partly as I was trying to remove the cubby cover and partly because I'm thinking of changing the head unit and thought I'd have a poke around and see how it works. I followed this guide and all was going well until I got to step 13 removing the white wire clip for the oil/battery gauges. No matter what I tried I just couldn't get this unclipped pinching, squeezing pulling (hard!). Anybody else had issues with this clip or got any tips/suggestions? Appreciate any help. Thanks.
  22. Hmmm, thanks for the suggestion. I was rather hoping for something that would use one of the more well known mapping apps like google maps but this may do the trick. Also, any idea if Spotify can be played and controlled through one of these?
  23. Hi guys, I think I know the answer to this but perhaps someone knows of something I don't. I'm looking to replace the factory bose head unit in my car and along with ipod control (and spotify) I'd like to be able to use the navigation apps on my iphone (something like google maps or apple maps) through the head unit screen. I don't really listen to CDs in the car so I'd actually prefer a mechless unit. I believe MirrorLink provides functionality like this for Android phones and I know Apple have just announced CarPlay but it seems like this appearing in aftermarket units could be some months or years away. Does anybody know of a head unit on the market that would support this functionality or am I going to have to decide whether nav is important enough to me to spend hundreds more on a head unit that has this already integrated? Jon
  24. Hello all Bought my zed about 6 months ago and just starting to look at doing a few little mods so thought I'd better register on here (having lurked for a while). Mines a 2008 313 GT in grey and pretty low mileage at 30k, no pictures yet I'm afraid. Jon
