  1. Sorry to bring this up again for anyone wondering what the squeak was (Or if anyone searches this) it was a loose alternator belt As the winter crept in it got worse and worse. Took it back, tightented all up All sorted.
  2. I've not frequented the forums much recently ( I try to stay away over christmas otherwise I'll spend bucks ) If you need a pair of hands just drop me a line, I'm not very good and have no experiance but if you need someone to 'hold this whilst I' then I'm more than happy to help!
  3. Good to hear. I was going to say go 2005 or 2007 you run a small risk with the 06 just to keep an eye on the oil that you don't have to on other versions. I'm lucky azure blue with all the visual upgrades and no oil consumption... But that's rare! Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  4. I'll be honest tire pressures didn't occur to me as I checked them only two weeks ago. But one week ago I had the wheels refurbed and they would of taken the tyres off! I will check them and get back to you guys ASAP. P.S Thanks everyone for the quick responses!
  5. Probably the oddest title in forum history but I really don't know how else to explain it. I've come from many a FWD hot hatch and in all cases I've gone for a very tight setup, this will always result in god awful ride comfort, however it does resort in total confidence behind the wheel. Now... I don't feel the same about the Zed at the minute, I suspect that its very much 'something' thats not right with the car more than the actual cars setup. I don't seem to have any clunking, Clicking, slamming or other strange noises when driving about, going over speedbumps or the like. However if I press on a little bit the car feels... Loose. Almost like the lower part of the car is made from Jelly and I'm sat on the wobbly bit on the top, like we are totally out of sync with each other and when I expect the car to move a certain way underneath me theres almost a delay. I've been looking into bushings and people seem to replace these but I don't really know what I'm doing to be honest so It will result in me throwing money at the problem until it goes away. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Experianced similar? If I take my car to my local mechanic could anyone help me point him in the right direction? I did think it was that I was spoilt with very tight cars with uncomfortable suspension but I'm not so sure. Recently had my wheels refurbed and refitted and I want to say it feels worse since then, however I think that I may have just 'Locked on' to the feeling.
  6. Its annoying when you can't have two things at the same time, Honestly If I didn't have to refurb my wheels I would buy this off you. Sadly I'm worried about them as they are in a terrible mess That backbox... divine.
  7. Just want to say, Had the final set. I'm awful at modifiying anything, managed to fit everything but the side lights with ease (Not tried the side lights) Only broke the clips on the vanity mirror so as far as I'm concerned that's a job well done for me! Colour is great, Brightness is also great! cant wait to replace other lights with upgraded/brighter ones!
  8. Meh, if you were safe about it. Just a busy body with too much time on his hands. Not sure I would have been so polite myself but then I'm a miserable old @*!#.
  9. Money sent along with delivery to the work address ðŸ˜
  10. Yea... Looks pretty sweet!
  11. Whats the drop? Edit: answered above. I'm looking for more of a drop but GLWTS!
  12. So, I see a lot of threads regarding radiator fans and how they are prone to failure. I've been out in the Zed a fair few times and I've been up the mountains hooning around but I've never heard my fans come on. Coolant stays at a tidy 90-93c according to the dial (which favours below middle) and my ODB2 setup So my question is how often in this hot weather do your fans come on? And do most people only notice once it's overheated or just that they don't come on. Is there a way of testing them?
  13. Currently I have the tyres that came with the car and they are terrible however entering a slow, small roundabout in the damp made with the TC on made me turn it off. Back end stepped out a little as I turned in, TC dropped the power mid corner and all four wheels lost traction. Wasn't driving like a tool doing less than 25mph after that I found an empty area and turned it off. Got a feel for the car, if the back end steps out I find in FAR more predictable to manage with counter steering than when TC kicks in. Don't get me wrong with some sticky shoes I might feel very different but I doubt it. If you can't manage the car without the driving aids then maybe a sports car is the wrong car for you. P. S normally I don't feel I have to clarify, I'm not saying TC off all day but when spirited mountain driving is involved I find it cuts in when one of the wheels lifts on a bump etc. But day to day? Around town? In the village? It's on!
  14. I would love to get my hands on your knob however a rather large expenditure on perishables has left me a little short this month. I can directly bank transfer 40 sterling this moment however if this does not please I completely understand.
  15. I saw a really interesting video about the advantages of spraying your intercooler black by the guys at mighty car mods. They said that as long as the intercooler isn't in direct sunlight it will benefit intake temperatures in a huge way!
  16. I've found this video, Mines not like the sound in this this is creaky. Mine almost sounds like a chirp from a dump valve... But more 'Mechanical' Is that the video you were referring to?
  17. So I've just had new pads/discs/fluid on the Zed. I've also had both the Alternator and AC belts replaced. So I decided to go and bed the brakes in like all previous cars I've owned (Warm them up, 8x60-10mph, Cool them off, Warm them up, 4x70-10mph, cool them off) When I accelerated hard to 60mph in 2nd/3rd when I lifted off the pedal there was this very odd squeak noise. This would only happen when I was giving it beans, If I was dawdling around there was no squeak. I didn't try dawdling up to 6000RPM but I can try that tomorrow. It almost sounded like suspension? but it sounded like it was coming from the engine bay. Maybe because the car was lifted off its wheels for so long? Has anyone else experienced this following Brake/Belt work? The mechanic did tell me it took him all day because everything was rusted in place but I'm not sure if he was referring to the brakes or the belts. I'm in work now solid for the next week so I wont really have a chance to ask him. Any ideas? Edit: it was the alternator belt. needed tightening.
  18. Is being that loud 'within the confines of the law'
  19. I've never taken a renewal price since I owned a car. Admiral wanted to charge me 1100 for two cars. I got three insured for 960 via their website!
  20. Need to see where I am after the brakes and belts are fitted see how much money I have left. Got my eye on that spoiler.
  21. Would love these for my Azure but I simply can't afford it at the moment with all the other expenses I have. I agree fantastic price. If they are still here when I've saved enough I'll take them but that might be some time!
