    HFC,s

Yes . You are right to fit everything in one go before going for a map

    Fitting HFC

Yes you should use gaskets , 40mm M10 bolts will do it
  4. Yep I use the tool on here , the difference is 1.41% less than 1mph at 70 mph http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg4.html
  5. Not just for track for road use as well during the summer , so would like speedo reading about right
  6. stock is 245/40/19 for the front so i'm trying to get close to that 265/35/19's will work , didnt know about the Pirellis , might give them a try can do 305/30/19 on the back as well
  7. yeah either the rears or fronts are available but not a set , i would prefer the same tyre all round
  8. I'm having issues finding a set of track day tyres for my 370z Ideally I want 295/30/19 rear and 255/40/19 fronts , I have a little flexibility around those sizes but i need more rubber on the back for sure , looking at the R888 and AD08r neither seem to be able to offer a set any options out there that I havent considered?
  9. Without opening it up, is there any real way of knowing if the low pressure is caused by the gaskets or not? I'm assuming the gaskets on mine have never been done (I don't have an FSH) and it's just hit 96k miles. It seems like the gaskets are a when rather than an if problem. Is that accurate? The gaskets are poor quality and thats why Nissan replaced them so i would say its a case of when rather than if but some were done under the 5 yr Nissan engine warranty
  10. Plenty of cases of engine damage on 370s in the USA without codes and we have seen engine damage to the top end on 350 engines with low oil pressure, could be coincidence that an engine fails and just happens to have low pressure or could be a direct result I certainly wouldnt be trusting the fact that you have no codes that you have no risk of damage
  11. Lots of occupations dont get to choose , the military for example FWIW 90% attendance is 19 days absent from school in one year ! , my son had 2 days off this year , one for sick and one for a funeral
  12. You can apply for term time absence , then its up to the school to decide which child can afford the time off or not .
  13. I used to be a Chair of Governors at a local school . I dont agree in fining parents, schools expect a lot of goodwill from parents throughout the year and I always felt that if you do fine parents then you can potentially lose that But school is important , children with poor attendance dont do as well in exams thats a fact, most parents value a decent education above a cheap holiday, for those that dont then fining them will have no effect Lets not forget that teachers always need to take holidays at the worst times.
  14. Man maths at its best , 350z too expensive to run so buys a Porsche Nice one
  15. I cant believe that many of these cars are selling for anything close to their advertised prices , 350's and 370's generally seem overpriced imo
  16. Who told you the engine was about to go pop ? One of the cam chain guides had failed on his engine , nothing to do with the oil issue just a lucky catch the cam chain could have jumped at any time
  17. Not routinely but we inspect everything throughly and have changed tensioners but not chains
  18. The reason the clutch costs so much is that the flywheel needs to be replaced at the same time , the stock flywheel is a dual mass unit and there are no pattern ones that I am aware of (Its different to the 350z) , the cheapest replacement are the kits that include a new solid flywheel , new clutch slave cylinder as well as the clutch components themselves , as mentioned the Xtreme kits that Clark MS do are good value and they will cost around £1k plus fitting of around £300 at most garages The running issue could be a lot of things its better to take cars like this to a specialist who have the correct diagnostic equipment and experience
  19. Yep made good power that one , very good results , glad you are happy
  20. Seems to be a few questions on this so thought I'd post this to try and clarify the problem The later 350Z HR 2007-2009 engine and the 370Z engines can suffer from low oil pressure at hot idle (less than 1 bar / 15psi). This is often caused by oil gallery gasket failure, Nissan improved these gaskets in 2011 and post MY2012'on 370z's should have the uprated gaskets from the factory The pics show the failed gasket. You can see where the bolt holes have elongated as the gasket gets pushed out At idle the engines oil pump cant supply enough oil to maintain a good oil pressure because a lot of oil is pouring out of the galleries back into the sump. You wont experience any oil loss but you may have a poor idle, jerky driving at low rpm and low idle oil pressure. We keep these uprated gasket sets in stock and they are available on our web site. http://h-dev.co.uk/?...sket-repair-kit To replace these gaskets we charge £799 inc vat and that includes all parts, oil and coolant If you are concerned at all we are happy to check your car and can also check the 370'z since they do not come with a factory oil pressure gauge. After fitting the new gaskets with fresh 5w30 oil we typically see 28-30psi at idle when hot
  21. Yep the minimum spec from Nissan is 14.5 psi , we usually find that post gallery gaskets with fresh 5w30 the HR engine will make 28-30psi on the gauge We are starting to check the oil pressure on 370z's as well during services just to be safe
