  1. Hope so, need the space now
  2. I just hope I still love cars as much when I am 80!!!
  3. RHD original Been looking for one for so long and so glad that I found one from an owner like this. He is nearly 80 and you can see that he still loves to drive the car, but just cant work on the car..... truly sad, but I am wanting to get the car decent before the Nissan Experience day next year June/July at Donnington and I will then invite him and his wife down. This will be the first time in 24 years that he is without a Z...... thats true love!!!!
  4. It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to my new project, a Datsun 240z. This car has been on my list of cars to own for ages! I logged onto a Z forum on Saturday night with the intention of putting my 350z up for sale (thread was created here, but never got round to it on the other site) and came across a for sale ad for a RHD Datsun 240z. It was late so sent a quick text message to confirm car was available and that I would call the next day. It was : Called the owner, had a good chat about the car and about 20 minutes later missus and I were in the GTR on our way from Surrey to Blackpool to view the car - 270 miles one way. A long trip, but well worth it!! The car needs a bloody good clean, some cosmetic work doing and the carbs need a tune up, but the car has been used on a regular(ish) basis and the owner is great!! Z nutter for over 20 years and such a nice guy. Spent about an hour and a half going over the car, going for a drive, chatting about this car and his many other 240z (he has owned a few). Left a deposit and started the long trip home, which did not go well...... but all I can think of today, is the 240z!! Need to arrange collection and transportation of it today. The list of things to do is:- 1. Get the car down home 2. Get the carbs tuned and exhaust manifold gasket needs to be changed 3. Enjoy the car for a little, before the cosmetic works gets started.... not sure on how I am going to do this, might be a complete strip down and respray Here is a quick teaser:-

Exactly, its not expensive and I think, looks better if you decide to sell. 6 month servicing looks a lot better to the next buyer IMO.

I have left mine on 6 month intervals, purely because I like getting an oil change done more regularly

Thanks Alex, what would i expect to get from those, 12500 miles Yes, if you are not tracking it. I have done 3000 miles in 18 months with a new R35 and 2000 will have been track miles. I am just about to put on my 5th set of tyres. On my 6th set of pads and 2nd set of rotors. Done 10 engine oil and filter changes and 5 tranny fluid changes and 2 diff. Alex. So a set of tyres and pads is effectively returning 500 miles give or take with track use, thats obscene! Any reason why, weight? Weight obviously does not help, however 500 miles can equate to circa 400 laps depending on the circuit, so do the maths. Yes FUN can be extremely expensive. I was at Knockhill today and completed 140 laps, regularly turning in sub 57 second laps and used 150 litres of fuel in the process. First job tomorrow is car on ramp and a complete after track strip down of the brakes for inspection and replace as required. Also a fluid change for brakes, engine, gearbox and diff. Sounds like great fun!!!
  8. Thanks.... yeah, the GTR is my "keeper" car!! Want to focus on the classics more, want to add a Hakosuka and a 240z to my collection. First, we need to find something a bit better for the commute.

Thats a bit excessive, but depends, if its just purely track use and they drive it hard, then understandable.... I got 21k miles to my standard brakes
  10. bttt - this back up for sale.... I have too many projects and want to focus on the classics.... MK1 escort build is about to happen

Modding costs? Is that the usual Stubby and spacers? As all the UK GTR's look exactly the same. Keep in mind that the GTR is very HEAVILY focused on aero and downforce, so difficult to change bumpers, etc without screwing it all up. The other big issue is GTR TAX!!! A pair of side side skirts for a 350z is 150 and 695 from the same company (their own make side skirts)!!! Plenty of modded cars out there, but most seem to focus on handling, braking and power:-

Well I have now had mine for a little over 3 years and still love it!! I have done 25k miles Tyres - I am now on my 2nd set, will need to move onto 3rd set in a few months - tread still looks decent Brakes - my OEM discs and pads lasted to 21k and I have now moved on to DBA discs and Pagid RS29 pads I have done 1 track day and 2 event days - ASDA and Nissan experience... Servicing, well I have been indy throughout my ownership as I never really trusted Nissan. I have always used Sly and he has been fantastic with the car. Depending on what year model you buy 08-10 you will need to consider a decent transmission cooler, as temps go up way to quickly on track days. You can limit the modding costs although, modding a GTR is a lot more than just power mods..... in all honesty, the brakes and suspension mods are so much more important. Next on my list is the trans cooler, track wheels and tyres and I am very very tempted by the ALCON BBK kit
  13. Saw this on the Supra forum and loved the idea.... Carbon fibre Poppy Im down for 5
  14. I have a rally day on the same day, otherwise I would be on this too
  15. Hoverboard. Now that is cool, but how would the government tax us on something like this?
  16. dont have axle stands..... drifting sounds a lot simpler
  17. If your Z is a VLSD either JDM or UK then this is a direct fit, if you have a JDM open diff then we can supply a different LSD Does that mean I would need to know exactly what I have before ordering? As currently, I have no idea.... hows best to find out?
  18. Why can you not receive PMs? Im interested in finding out more about the promos you can do/have done.....
  19. sounds comepletely mental..... need to get a video sorted
  20. Excellent real world feedback there Bennett thanks, definitely a good point regarding oil changes and using a good quality brand agree, whats the worst that can happen
  21. My idea was a combo of drifting and track.... so needing a diff cooler as well is pushing this too far.
  22. This needs its own thread!! Love it!!!! My work...... not so much
  23. sorry, but I laughed when you said that they fell in the ditch and got soaked wrong I know. But on a serious note, you cant really call that a garden, can you?
