  1. Maybe try asking here; http://www.ffoc.co.u....co.uk/forum/
  2. You need to l listen at the safety brief in the morning - every track day there the same thing. "No timing of any form is allowed today" Doesn't stop anyone but that's why I said you are not allowed - they even mention you can't have your mate on the wall with a stopwatch and no using phone apps - The guy in the GTR just laughed and said mines built in Never thought I was that quick to be honest Captain I think does a 1:26 in an NA - he did spend a lot of time there so he knows the track, one of the guys from DJCC is supposed to do sub 1:20's - Tiff has done a 1:10 (or so I read) Either it's a relatively new thing that there is no timing allowed or I'm never listening properly at the briefings. Probably the latter. Tbh I haven't done a track day at Castle Combe in quite a while now. I know Combe very well as I did loads of track days/race days there each year but mainly through the late 1990's up until 2007/08. Best time's I ran where; 1:39:00 in my unmodified 1992 Rover 214si, 1:45:45 in my unmodified 1996 Vauxhall Corsa Sport and 1:35:28 in my 1998 Ford Mondeo ST24 again unmodified (apart from an induction kit). When I started doing the track days it was so funny in comparison to today ~ no queues, just turn up & pay (around £20/£25 odd), overtaking on corners allowed (not even mentioned in safety briefings as far as I recall), you could use hand held cameras in car and no helmets needed as long as you where driving a tin top. Old school rules.
  3. Ah well at least you should get a much better part from them when they finally do send it.
  4. Welcome aboard Owen. Lovely Zed and nice pics.
  5. Welcome aboard from South Wales. Clean looking GSi you have. Some info you may find useful below; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/22880-guide-for-new-memberspotential-buyers/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77426-buyers-guide/
  6. I posted about this yesterday in a thread in "The Green Room" ; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/81223-my-saab-9-5-had-a-lucky-escape/ Apparently this happened not far from a travellers site so my money would be on those scum bags doing it. Either way the owners insurance should cover him as it was obviously not his doing and I'm sure he'd have locked it before he left it parked even if it was in 3ft of water.
  7. Welcome aboard. Great looking Celica btw & some lovely pics.
  8. Probably just copying you to try and keep up.
  9. IBTL Will. I juest. I made a new friend the other day on the way to work ~ driving along minding my own business and over took a Mercedes convertible at the legal limit on a two lane part of the road. For some reason this annoyed him or impressed him so he decided to sit behind me for 100 metres odd before I turned off flashing his lights continuously. Maybe the exhaust note from my Invidia system whilst in second gear scared him?!
  10. Your not trying hard enough. I got 109mph odd in my old ST24 Mondeo back in 2007 and it was sh*t in comparison to a standard Zed. Did 124mph odd in a Formula Ford but then that was a light weight single seater. Edit: Just checked on my DVD copy of some of my other old tracks days at Combe ~ had 90mph odd in a Corsa Sport 1.4 (sh*tty Eco engine) and also 102mph odd in a 1992 Rover 214si. What BMW do you have anyway brillomaster? curious now. To be fair he is not far off - 125mph by the car speedo at CC is probably as good as it gets, I was not trying to give my times on any particular circuit more point out that having a top speed above 155mph is just a pub figure there are not many places to do it! - airfields and Germany strike me as about the only 2. I of course would never go over 70mph on a public road You are not allowed to time a CC so I have no idea (1:26.8) I've not heard of not being allowed to time at Castle Combe?! Anyway if you have video recordings of your track day/race day keyser then you can just lap time yourself from that using a stopwatch anyway. 1:26 is pretty fast around Combe in a Zed eitherway. Gives you an average speed of around 78mph odd I believe so not too shabby at all.
  11. Chromatic's from the US though so could be different from the UK. Maybe they don't like the blue one's as much as the UK buyers seem to.
  12. Wouldn't want to hit any of those at speed that's for sure.

  14. Can you link me your Berk HFC's? Seems like the HFC's are quite expensive.. but the Test pipes (more power).. but risk the CEL are under $200. I bought my Berks HFC's from a trader on here; Tarmac Sportz ~ (2003-2006 cars) http://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/GB/Berk_Technology_350Z_03-06_Metallic_High_Flow_Cats/BT1401-HFC-MET_.aspx (2007-2008 cars) http://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/GB/Berk_Technology_350Z_07-08__High_Flow_Metallic_Cats/350Z-BT1407-HFC-MET_.aspx You could always PM Chris at Tarmac Sportz to see what he can do for you but I suspect it will still be cheaper to buy them from the US. Worth noting you may still get the CEL (EML) come on even with decent high flow Cats although it is less likely. The only real way around it is a re-map (tune up) which ultimately will help you get the most from the mods your doing and improve the car greatly imo.
  15. That's pretty impressive especially as I know what it's like going over Avon Rise into Quarry corner and if you don't get the braking right it can make for a very nasty accident. What sort of lap times have you achieved at Castle Combe Keyser if you know?
  16. This is how I would do it; Sand off/remove as much of the old paint as possible (smoothing out any ruff areas with sand paper), de-grease the entire caliper (use brake cleaner), then use a good HT or VHT paint in your desired colour (several thin layers building up & allow to dry between layers). Spray can's will be easier especially if you remove the calipers from the car and will give better results although a good brush & can of paint will do the job in situ but just remember to mask off any areas you don't want to get paint on.
  17. I've heard the Megs kit with the drill attachments is one of the best ways to fix this problem.
