  1. Didn't know you where in Yorkshire. I was born in York and used to live in North Yorkshire as a child up until the late 80's when my parents moved to South Wales. Was a heck of a change but luckily I was only around 8 so I settled fairly quickly. Still have fond memories of Yorkshire though. I hope you've been back to York, its a beautiful city and well worth a visit I live in between Castleford and Wakefield. It's rough as a*seholes and nothing like York!!! Actually I haven't been back to York in well over a decade unfortunately. My Dad has though on various occasions with my sister, brother & uncle. Definitely will do one day as you're right York is beautiful and well worth a visit. Keep that beautiful Zed safe then if it's rough round your area.

  3. Just noticed this. Happy Birthday fella.
  4. Smoke is usual at first as it burns off cr*p inside the system and then as it bed's in the sound will change. I had Berks HFC's fitted at the same time so can't say for certain whether the exhaust got any louder but the tone definitely changed for the better imo. Berks & Invidia are a very popular combo ~ you could try something different (Arc etc) but I have no idea how that would compare. All I do know is I love the sound from my Berks & Invidia set up.
  5. Ok when I was 16 I worked for a short time at a second hand car dealers ~ we had a p/x Ford Orion come in that needed a new exhaust back box because there was no tail pipe on it. Not wanting to spend cash on the car the mechanic was told by the boss to just weld on a cut off section of drain pipe from the porter cabin. It looked like a "Big bore 4" (for those of you that know what that is) but must have done the job as someone bought the car a few weeks later.
  6. Sucks to have a bad day I know. Really hope your evening and weekend go better than your day has then.
  7. No, don't do it. Seriously if you can resist then don't. Be 3 weeks tomorrow since my last cigarette and not only do I feel better, I actually smell better.
  8. Yes mate I'm in South Wales ~ Cardiff to be more precise. It's something like 98 miles door to door and I'm leaving my car with them but I think it will be worth it for sure. Was considering Abbey at first but when I realized how close Jez was in comparison I thought it's a no brainer really.
  9. Great news it's all fitted. If you want it louder then it's Berks HFC's or de-cats next.
  10. The way the car make's you feel after modifying when you press the loud pedal should be all the justification you'll ever need.
  11. I'm taking my Zed to Horsham Developments who are in Chievely, Berkshire (RG20 8TX). They are traders on here and Jez has a very good reputation for mapping & more.
  12. Interesting start Danielodger. I can see why you went for the red rear indicator covers as it does look cool against the white but although you can see it flashing I do believe it has to be amber/orange legally to pass the MOT as others have touched on. Unfortunately I think you're going to have to change that ~ clear lenses would look better imo anyway.
  13. it's broken when you accelerate does the engine knock and the oil light come on ? this was also an optional extra It only does it when parked with the handbrake up so I'm positive it is an ace super high tech safety feature. When I accelerate all I hear is the flux capacitor working but it stops after I hit 88mph and once I begin time travel so not worried.
  14. Noticed the other night that with my engine running when I pressed the brake pedal and the brake lights came on, the sidelights would also come on. Now not sure if this is some type of cool safety feature or if my Zed has some sort of electrical fault. Either way I'm going with cool safety feature.
  15. The car as far as I'm aware is limited to 155mph. Get an Up-Rev and you can have this removed. Some people that I have chatted with believe that 6th is geared to 176mph+. Not sure how true that is but the top speed is definitely limited so de-limiting is always possible.
  16. I bought a magnetic tax disc holder from eBay that has a carbon fibre rear with 350Z in silver on it if that's what your after. Was only £4-5odd incl P&P.
  17. Some things to check ~ Bring a CD to check the Bose head unit plays it without skipping, also check speakers all work, check the fuel flap pops open with a single press of the button, check the boot pops open with a single press of the button (if it doesn't it will need new boot popper assist springs/cheap easy fix), check the boot gas struts hold the boot open (if not it will need new gas struts/again fairly cheap to fix), if original exhaust check for blowing/rust on rear back box & pipes, check for rust/bubbling on rear quarters by wheel arches (common place for rust to start), listen for rear diff clicking (common fault but most fixed already or done on warranty)... there are more things to check but some come under the normal checks with buying any second hand/used vehicle. Some of the faults I've listed aren't major but it may help with haggling a lower price. Good luck and hope it's a good one.
  18. That's cool ~ I can't find any paper work in my Zed's history for a clutch change & I have a good history with my car from new so I'm guessing my Zed is still on it's original clutch as well at around 89K miles now. Hope mine goes past the 100K mark like yours has.
  19. That's one cool looking roadster. Very nice.
  20. Can't beat a bit of carbon fibre imo. Look's much better than it did ~ good job.
