Thread moved. I'd echo what the above have said as it sounds like clutch slip to me. When you did that above though if the clutch is damaged or badly worn and slipping it should have not stalled & continued to rev which is puzzling. Could maybe be the first signs though that it is on its way out. I'd definitely start pricing up a clutch kit with flywheel & some new clutch fluid as well. Try Clark Motorsports & some of the other traders on here for the best prices.

fat chance its the same as yours - big plastic bag over it all Oh well, at least all we need is some Mr Sheen with it's "anti static guard" to clean the engine I guess. Note to ilogikal1 ~ I would never use "Mr Sheen" on my engine obviously ~ it was a joke.

Awesome Zed and I understand what a tough decision it must have been. Hope your new ride when you get it floats your boat just as much as the Zed did.

When you get a chance Andy can you take an engine bay picture please?, ...I'm hoping it's not covered in plastic like a lot of modern cars and we can at least see some of that beautiful supercharged V6.

You really need to start a "build thread" Brimstoneboy if you haven't already. Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/156-member-build-projects/ Coming along nicely & love the latest mods.

Advice needed - Someone hit car - no note left (photos in comments)

Sorry to see that J. That's pretty bad tbh and it couldn't be in a worse place imo. If it was at the front you could fix it fairly cheaply but the rear quarter is a PITA. If you contact your insurer you will no doubt pay more money in the long run then either just paying for the repair yourself or selling the car on at a loss. I mean you'll have to pay your voluntary excess as well as any mandatory excess the insurers charge. Plus even though it'll be a non fault claim it will still effect your insurance premiums in most cases. Personally I'd just do as KUGT4 mentions above, ...shop around for the cheapest quote. Good luck. -
He is probably too busy poncing about it in to even care about us . . . just like I would be if ti were me Bet he's out pulling 20 year old women the lucky bugger.

Just fyi he's relisted it again on eBay, this time at £6500 and he does mention that it was made a Cat D in 2008. Free bump for your R33 sale.

It's definitely safest to do that. Oh and if you do or ever want to edit your thread titles just click on "edit" followed by clicking "use full editor", ...that'll let you redo the title to get rid of any spelling mistakes etc if you want to.

You're not the only one. I can't believe he hasn't spilled the beans yet though.

Always best to have matching tread patterns on the same axles and front to rear, ...can cause bad handling otherwise & in extreme cases actually be dangerous.

Alloys look great David.

Replacement for his Zed I believe.

Come on then Andy are you going to put them out of their misery?

I think I was just cursed with that car tbh and the people I chose at the time to work on it when I couldn't. My mate who spent more money than me bought a my99 JDM WRX Sti Type Ra V-Limited and the only real problem he had was when he first chose to use the same engine builder as me. He was having an EJ20 closed deck forged Cosworth 2.2Ltr stroker build done by them but afterwards the engine began to knock after only a few thousand miles. The engine builder tried to blame him at first although just like me he had followed their run in procedure to the letter. When the engine was stripped down we found out they hadn't used Cosworth gudgeon pins or circlips (maybe to save money) and this was the cause of the fault. I don't know the full ins and outs of it all but basically they were threatened with court action I believe & my mate also went down there with another of our mates who's a crazy guy ~ they took back his old closed deck block, got a full refund on all the parts & that was that. He eventually got the engine properly done by a very reputable engine builder and 10 years later it's still running great for him with over 450Bhp. Don't think I'll ever get another Subaru but never say never.

The car was a classic my96 JDM Impreza WRX. First engine was standard and suffered big end failure after the oil pump died whilst I was driving on the motorway (only had it a month but bought privately). Second engine was the original I had rebuilt with stronger uprated parts (lighter/stronger conrods, STi pistons, uprated oil pump...) by a company in England. I followed all the correct run in procedures etc but the engine only lasted 12K miles before putting a conrod through the side of the engine block. Was running on a standard WRX turbo/top mount intercooler with a touch over 300Bhp (@hub AFAIK) so hardly mad power. First gearbox literally just blew up one day ~ sounded like a load of pennies in a blender ~ this was with a more powerful engine though and the standard WRX gearboxes aren't the strongest. Second gearbox was the original I had rebuilt with new OEM parts ~ (went the following day after rebuild) my theory was that the builder f**ked it up by not putting enough oil in it. They did however fix it FOC. Did have loads of other common faults as well as sensors go etc so all in all a bit of a cra**y Subaru experience. Tbf though I know I was unlucky plus two businesses I used (the engine builder & gearbox builder) were subsequently proven to be inept (imo) or at the least muppets. Can't really argue with that...
