  1. Awesome shots bud, really love them...... The underground pics bring back memories of part of my mis-spent Youth when I lived in London.....Underground was always the winner when it came to "School or Underground" :-) You say you have taken these with the S3...... I just got the S4 so will be looking to make more use of the Camera. Do you just use the Camera software supplied, or have you purchased a particular app to get these fantastic shot? Graeme
  2. Nice write-up and lovely car. Would be interested in where you got the crystal lenses for the rear lights from ? Graeme
  3. Hi Guys, You may be interested in a place to buy high quality LED's from, and the guy is very knowledgeable about the setup of LED's, does installs and all that business. If you need help or advice on whats the best bulb to buy, give Craig a shout at http://www.auto-leds.co.uk/ This is his new site which he has just started populating, his goods have been very popular on the Toyota/Honda scene. I wouldn't recommend them if I wasn't happy with the bulbs he has supplied me in the past. Graeme
  4. From what I understand, the throttle controller makes the movement of the accelerator even more responsive, ie in sport mode slight movements on the accelerator exaggerate to the EUC how far the accelerator has been pressed.........moving all the power to the top of the pedal movement instead of the bottom ................if I am explaining myself properly. in Eco mode more movement of the pedal gives less power. better explained on the Blitz page: http://www.blitzpowerusa.com/products/throcon/throcon.html
  5. I do believe that the controller will still function as it does on a non up-rev ECU, IE Performance and Economy settings............But someone may correct me !!!
  6. Ok, thanks........so now the question is why did it go screwy on my car......very odd. It should be back up to me next week so will have another shot.
  7. Was a bit of a dilemma whether to post here in the electronics section or in the performance section, as the question(s) fall into both groups, so if any admin feels this is in the wrong area, please don't hesitate to move the post. I am wanting to find out if there are other users out there who have a 2005 (ish) UK GT, that has had the UpRev mapping done to it, and running the "D-spec Throttle Controller" ? If so: Did you have any issues setting the D-spec up?. Did you get any odd output on the controllers screen?. Did you get any throttle issues?. The reason I am asking these questions, is that I recently purchased the Rev 3 D-spec controller from a very helpful supplier on this forum. Plugging it in is fairly straight forward and idiot proof given you can only plug the plugs into specific opposites. When I plugged everything in (and without the ignition turned on), the controllers screen started flashing up random digits. It allowed me to do some of the setup, such as the lo position of the throttle, but would not go any further. As a result this all through my ECU into what I suspect was throttle limp mode and I had to clear the error with my OBD reader. The D-spec went back to the supplier who has tried it in an exact same model car as mine and it worked fine. The only difference between the two cars is that mine has the "UpRev" on it, so we are unsure whether the throttle settings on the UpRev are not happy with the D-spec being attached. So would be interesting to see if anyone is running the same as me WITH a throttle controller. Thanks Graeme
  8. Hi All, My recently acquired zed is due a P2 service next month, so looking for some good recommended garages in the North East. I've had some bad experiences with Main Dealers on my Mazda so thought I would see who is using who? Don't mind traveling a bit within reason. Thanks
  9. On the very very slim off chance that the exhaust does'nt get snapped off..... I will be happy to hand over some of my hard earned cash
  10. Thinking about it now, I don't think it would go past 3500, I had to keep dropping it into first to start it moving as it just felt powerless, if I bliped the accelerator, the rev counter would lag behind in the revs rising. Rev limiter is set at the 6600 which I think is the default......If i knew how to work out potential top speed in say 5th with a rev limit of 6600rpm, then I might know better if I hit the rev limiter It more and more sounds like the limiter. I shall plug in the OBD2 Scanner at the weekend and see if this shows anything up. Was already thinking about one of the OBD2 dongles that datalogs 50hrs of driving data.....could prove useful IF I can replicate the issue.
  11. Yep you understood fine, although it was also running as if a couple of the cylinders were not firing, so was like a bag of cra$ :-) Has original air filter box on with aftermarket filter, although I do have a "Pop charger" which Alex just supplied me with, but had'nt got chance to install it this week, so everything was standard. All fine now but will still do the cleaning of the throttle body and MAF sensor as a precaution, and because it cannot do it any harm. Thanks for your input Graeme
  12. I had a feeling it was something like that. What did you trace the issue to in the end.....or did you never?? Going to do the Throttle body clean and MAF Clean, can't hurt either way. I understand that you have to go through throttle body relearn on the system (or something similar) so need to search through the threads first for that one, but my heart did start beating again when it ran ok after a restart
  13. Checked and all seem fine. The odd thing was that after restarting, the car ran fine and does now !!
  14. Hi Alex, Its a UK car.....thought about it and it could of been RPM cut as its only set at 6600. No EML showing and car runs perfect now. It was just after the "spirited" few minutes, the next 2 miles home took some coaxing. Don't know whether to do the servicing myself or what really.....time is always an issue with my job. Car has full service history at the moment, so will need to consider which way to jump. If I need the service kit I will give you a shout. Thanks Graeme
  15. Hi All, Well recently purchased this 350 and its behaved itself perfectly, its got the Motordyne spacer, Re-map, Berk Cats and True dual exhaust. Drove down to JAE on Thursday eve, a distance of around 250 miles, and was a perfect run, no issues at all. Today came back home, cruise control set at legal limits, and pushed it a bit when needed to overtake, was a trip of around 270 miles as we had a detour, again faultless until I was 6 miles from home. Nice straight and had a little spirited drive. Came off the motorway and it was as if it was only running on 4 or 5 pots, revs all over the place, when I came to junctions I was having to blip the throttle otherwise she sound as though she would stall. Managed to get her home and let her tick over, which didn't sound healthy and was struggling. There was no smoke, or any alteration in any of the gauges, no funny smells, and all under the bonnet looked fine. During the last spirited bit, I did hit what I can only describe as some sort of cut, and it was from that point I had the issues. Anyway, 5 mins later, started her up and no issues at all. Went for a quick run, and drove perfect. So not as worried as before, but I would like to try and get to the bottom of it. Car has full service history, and is due a P1 next month, all levels are fine. If I did hit some sort of cut, then I am a little confused as I was under the assumption this had been removed by the remap with "RS tuning". So any advice or hints would be very much welcome. On a slightly different matter, any recommendations for 350 Servicing in the North East (Darlington/Middlesbrough) I am happy to travel a little for a good service. Thanks Graeme
  16. Yep just looks like the other plug with blanked off wires is for an alternatate source of power.......I will soon see later this morning :-) Thanks for all your help guys. Graeme
  17. Don't know if this may have slightly changed as I think it's a revision 3 ........ Will have a good read of the instructions over a cuppa in the morning. Thanks for the help
  18. Yep have all the plugs as you would expect, but there is also a 3 wire plug Red, Blue, Yellow.
  19. Hi guys Just received my D1 Throttle Controller, and was under the impression it was just a case of plugging unit into OBD port and pedal, but I see there is also 3 other wires. Do you need to connect the additional 3 or are they just for alternate vehicles? Many thanks Graeme
  20. In addition to the above, GTECHNIQ do a metal polish which also forms a crystal shell over the polished metal. In fact the Gtechniq stuff takes any polished metal to another level when it comes to clarity. I've had stuff professionally polished to give Wow factor then applied Gtechniq M1 and the result is jaw dropping. This is the stuff I am talking about HERE It does protect as well. Little bit of info from Detailingworld HERE
  21. Last year I had my car picked up by a "Car Courier", collected from Darlington and sent down to East Sussex, cost was £110. Collected 8pm and delivered by 12 the next day. I just used "SHIPLY"; Just put on their where you need it to go, and drivers will bid to do the job for you, its pretty good system and you can select who gets to do the job by reading their feedback....very much like eBay but in reverse.
  22. I have been having the same/similar dilemma for the last couple of months. Picked the car up and it has the HKS type true dual exhaust, which looks fantastic and tickover and low revs sounds immense, but on the motorway between 2-2.5k rpm there is a lot of droning. The car also has Berk HFC fitted. So the dilemma is to either live with it given that its not my daily drive and just put up with the occasional distance drive, or swap the whole thing/part of the system out for something thats still going to give a nice sound, but without the droning. Like yourself I have been listening to so many sounds clips, and I still don't know which way to jump. Hoping to get to listen to some sounds at JAE in a couple of weeks, then with the help of our excellent trade people, see which parts of the system I can swap out, and what I can keep from the true dual.
  23. some good responses guys, and I appreciate the straight answers. I was aware that there are many arguments (on the USA Forums), for and against WI on NA engines, and was interested to see if anyone had actually done it. As it is I was considering selling the setup as it seems a waste just having it sat there. Given the answers above, looks like I will move it on and put the money into more mods for the 350 Many thanks Graeme
  24. Hi All, Well just moved over from having a 300+ bhp MR2 Turbo, which I ran methanol injection on. The kit I used was the "DevilsOwn" kit which had its own progressive controller where you set the start point in psi, and the full flow point. So in my case WI kicked in at 6psi and was on full flow by 13psi. This not only added a margin of safety to the engine, but gave very effective boost regardless of external temps. You got the "Crisp Air" morning response from the car. So, the whole kit came off the MR2 before being sold, so I now have the full kit available; Progressive Controller, 300 psi Pump, Tank, Jets, 300psi Solenoid..... All sat there begging to be used. The good thing about the controller is that it can be used on either a MAP based system or a MAF based system, just needs a 5V signal and it does all the rest, you just set your start point and your max flow point. So big question.... Is anyone on the forum currently running water/meth injection ? Our American cousins love running these on turbo and NA engines, as well as a good amount on diesel engines. Spoke to their tech team, and they confirm there would be no issues associated with the kit and the 350 engine. Any information from anyone who ventured down this road, would be good Thanks Graeme
