  1. Hi Bud, Lovely car, I looked at it a couple of times when I was on the hunt for a zed...... I finally decided on a black one, but glad to see that one's will be around the Northeast (I hail from Darlington). Hopefully will bump into you at some stage. we have a local forum for meets, etc....I'll pm you. Graeme
  2. Hey Graeme, I know the house lol you got a 350 now? Yeah it's a battle fitting this in and the drifting around work and stuff but it's pretty addictive. Think you might regret the offer of help my man :-P Yep the MR2 went last Saturday, went as far as I could with that, wife still has hers (Red with black roof) - been itching for a 350 for over a year now, and glad I took the switch, really loving it........now to get enough time to enjoy it. Looking forward too seeing yours, that's some major workload you've got there, but sure you will make easy work of it, having seen what you've done so far. Regards Graeme
  3. thanks Spursmaddave, all these tips come in handy, and might save me a lot of grief, so I very much appreciate them Thanks Graeme
  4. Cheers Bud, ok better start Saturday afternoon on the positive side, it will give me chance to hoover out all the crap that fills the little joints up, etc and get her spick and span. Also looking forward to getting another piece of kit next week
  5. +1 on the RS Stubby. Picked up the car last week and on the 150 mile drive home I could only get a very very poor radio 4......Drove me nuts, so the RS Stubby was my first portal of call, it made 500% difference, now I get all my favorites and I never want to hear Radio 4 again........Sorry any 4 listeners out there Previous stubby must of been a cheapo, was literally 1.5" long and did zilch!!!!
  6. Cheers Guys, superb information there and hopefully (fingers crossed) its just a case of swapping the RCA's. Volume wise I initially THOUGHT it was ok, but was conscious of the fact last night that I seemed to be turning the volume up a heck of a lot just to get some useable noise from it. So will take a look at the guide and carry out the modification, I do like some decent volume in the car, and it may even help me over come the droning on the exhaust I shall report back Sunday. I am of course assuming....... Front bezel off the Pioneer and should reveal some screws to pull the unit out OR is it going to be the whole of the center panel has to come out........ Hoping not. Thanks again chaps Graeme
  7. Just purchased a 2005 zed, GT model that had the Bose system installed. The Bose headunit has been removed and replaced with a "Pioneer AVIC" unit. I am led to believe that all correct harnesses were used for the steering wheel controls, etc and it does have the USB/Ipod cable in place. However, playing around with fade and balance last night, I discovered that the fade and balance is all over the place. Move the control to front right and I get both rear speakers, move to front left and I get front left plus one other. So before I rip it all out on Saturday and start again, the question I have is: "Is it possible to get the speaker connections or the output/input wrong when putting this all together with the correct aftermarket looms ?" Just trying to get an idea of what may be the issue, before I start. Appreciate any response. Thanks Graeme
  8. Awesome thread Bizz, some amazing working going on there. Might have to get a look in the flesh as I am only on North Road (The MR2 house), missed the drifting at Teesside which was a bit disappointing, thats what happens when its "All work and no play", don't know how you manage to fit all this work in, definitely subscribed to this one. I am not averse to getting my hands dirty if you ever need a hand. Graeme
  9. did you get these wired up okay ?? any advise for those to follow ? Does anyone know if the base models have the looms in place for the heated seats and the motorised seats, just ready to plug in ???
  10. Hi everyone, sorry if the questions been asked already, but I am looking to purchase a Zed very shortly, one thing it does'nt have is the Bose system, I believe this is the non GT model. On this model, what is in place of the Bose sub area that you have in the GT model (Behind the drivers seat) ? Any pics would be great. Thanks Graeme
  11. In the market for a Zed and this one is WOW!!!!, really like it...... Too much out of my price range, but I bet this does'nt hang around too long. GLWTS Graeme
  12. My MR2 is an import so similar vein to the 350Z when it comes to differences. The one thing that I was very keen on (due to false knee joints) is the Cruise Control. I live by it on my works car, although the Zed will only be a weekend car, I would still like Cruise Control, although I will say its not a show stopper if its not there on the right car ;-) Thanks for your help guys Graeme
  13. Thanks for that, some really useful reading on there......Perhaps I should of searched first then opened mouth Just picking up from that thread, which version of the import is this model; Base, S, T, ST ? thanks Graeme
  14. Hi Bud, Loving the car, and as it is I am in the market for the right car, got my eye on a couple on the forum, I gather this is an import model ? being new to the whole Zed scene, what the main difference between the Jap and UK spec. Also, more importantly, whats the downside if any on owning an import......That said, my MR2 Turbo is import, and no major differences on that model apart from the Turbo. Do you have more pics of the car, both exterior and interior. Where in the country are you located ? Many thanks Graeme
  15. Very interested in this car having had a drive in a 350Z this morning, it has convince me to move forward. PM sent for more details. Can anyone advise how good/bad/hard/easy is it to fit the leather seats in place of the fabric, including the heated seat switches. Are the looms generally already in place for plug n play operation ? Many thanks Graeme
  16. I can make it tomorrow no problem at all, where to you want to meet, I will be coming from Darlington, anytime after about 11 would be good for me, will be about all day and evening.......and looking forward :-)
  17. Thanks for the warm welcome guys, been having a good read through the forum pages and everyone sounds great, very helpful and an all round good crowd. OV53 YPA I will give you a shout and make my way over to Sunderland, will be good to get a taste of what the zed is like.....something I always loved the look of. I think after 10yrs married to the 2 its time to let her go to a new owner, and let a new chapter of my life start :-) with Zed ownership. I'll drop you a pm once I have sorted out where the heck in the country I will be this week. I am usually based over at Durham Tees Valley Airport, but do travel a lot with work.
  18. Hi everyone, Just joined the forum as I am looking to move onto another jap motor away from my current trusty MR2 Turbo, which had just undergone and expensive full renovation. Always had an eye for the Zed and found myself more than casually looking at them over the last month or so. Been with the Mr2 for probably 10yrs now, so maybe its time for a move. Despite having a healthy interest in the Zed, I've not been fortunate to test drive or even get a good nosey around one, so I'm hoping there maybe someone in the North East (Darlington area), who might assist in that objective. I'm already talking to a couple of guys who have Zed's for sale, but unfortunately they are well down the country. I would just like to satisfy my lust for the Zed to put my mind at ease before I go too far and do something I could potentially regret. I look forward to getting involved with the group Many thanks Graeme
