  1. I've spend most of my spare time at work today browsing wheels and I'm still undecided on what to go for. I had been talking to CS about the XXR527's but I'm not so sure on them anymore. My car has the stock (not rays) wheels on at the minute and I've recently put new 225/45/18, 245/45/18 tyres on. I don't really fancy forking out an extra £500 for tyres. So I'm hoping they will fit on a future wheel purchase. I'm hopeless when it comes to offsets and wheel sizes etc, I really like the look of the rota grids, with the staggered rears, I'd want them in 18's obviously. Is this possible with using my current tyres? On rimstyles website the standard grid 18's appear to come with 225/45 tyres so it looks promising right? The other thing I'm debating is the colour. My Z is silver, I know gunmetal and hyper black will look awesome but I'm considering taking a risk and trying them in white to be a bit different. What do you guys think? The other wheel that has caught my eye is the rota MXR in gold with polished lip. Again this is a pretty bold choice and I'm not sure I'd have the bottle to try it out. It could potentialy look awesome or completely horrible haha... Help me out here guys, I'm desperate to get rid of the stock wheels
  2. Rota's may be copys but the quality is good and they look awesome. At £700 + I'd not class them as cheap either. Cheap in comparison to the wheels they copy yes but who wants to pay 1500 upwards for wheels on a 6 grand car? Not me anyway thats for sure. I'm currently on the hunt for some rims and rota grids are top of the list at the minute.
  3. I'm on about 63,000, 04 plate. I've been wondering about this recently actually, what sort of mileage can these cars do before FI would not be a good idea? If I decide to go turbo in 10,000 miles time will the engine be up to it?
  4. All uk cars have brembos don't they?
  5. This is a really cool forum and the people on here are waaaay more chill than on most owners clubs. However coming on here talking about street racing and refering to people as "son" isn't going to get you off to the best of starts with everyone.
  6. Yea be prepared for this to happen more often, the Z isn't exactly a slouch but it's not massivly quick either.
  7. I've noticed the Z gets attention from prestigious cars quite often, I've had some interesting drives with a few porches and some GTR's, it makes a change from when I had my civic and every idiot in his saxo wanted a go
  8. I don't think a car popping and spitting flames is a "chav" thing at all. I can't help but think that the stereotype some of you guys have in mind for "boy racers" is completely wrong. My local meet is at a mcdonalds car park but thats where the cliche ends, every sunday it's full of evo's, RS's, skylines, scoobies and type r's. It's actually a great meet with loads of cool people and interesting cars. My mates GTR pops and spits flames, anyone who thinks this is uncool can't possibly call themselves a petrol head
  9. This is going to be scary.... Within the first few months... 04 plate 350Z - £5,900 Insurance - £700 4 kumho ku39 tyres - £550 Break pads all round + fitting - £200 Side light cover - £29 Exedy clutch and fly plus fitting - £950 Tax - £150 Fuel (estimate) - £1000 thats over three and a half grand!!! brb off to buy a corsa
  10. At near 30 I should probably consider a mortgage and or a savings account. Neither of them is possible being the petrol head that I am. I don't even want to think about how much I've spent/lost on cars over the last 5 years or so, it's insane.
  11. To be fair round my way most of the cars at "asda carpark fraternity" would beat my Z in a drag or on the track. Everyone seems to have a 400bhp focus RS or Evo's/scoobs etc. God knows how these kids afford such cars.
  12. I'm not sure, if you look at it compared to others it looks way higher up. Maybe an issue with suspension?? I have no idea to be honest but it doesn't look normal to me. Edit. Actually looking through autotrader this isn't the only one that looks like its sitting quite high up. Might just be the rays wheels causing it? mine is on the non gt wheels and it seems to sit a bit lower.
  13. These cars love throwing up the engine light for loose sensors etc, It's probably nothing to worry about.
  14. Are you implying anyone who washes their own car doesn't have a life? haha. This is a car enthusiast forum you know..... You just insulted nearly everyone on here
  15. Looks like its sitting really high on those stock rims?? Massive arch gap, is that normal?
  16. Very glad I kept it, don't know what I was thinking to be honest. Only problem is Zeditus has kicked in good and proper, I've got a shopping list as long as my arm for it now. Wheels and springs are next on the list tho, it's dying for some good rims.
  17. Kumho ku39s... They have been great in the dry/damp but absolutely useless in the conditions last night. I'd expected them to be bad but not that bad haha! I had a queue of traffic behind me because I refused to go over about 15 MPH
  18. It's the other cars on the road that worry me more than anything, saying that my car is very tail happy in the snow, even at a snails pace. I was quite surprised at how bad it was actually, way worse than any of my previous cars. Winter tyres might be a good idea.....
  19. This is the first time I've drove in the snow in the Z. Came out the gym tonight and the ground was covered, I felt super uncomfortable driving it home to be honest, it wanted to go any direction but forwards. Seemed like a good excuse to take it to a car park and get the hang of it Seen three crashed cars on the A1 tonight too, people driving far too fast for the conditions. Everyone was tailgating me and overtaking at silly speeds. If this weather keeps up I'll be getting the bus to work to be honest
  20. Looking at some of the prices on auto trader these cars seem to vary massively, it looks like the prices have went up recently actually? When I bought mine there were several low-ish mile 04 plates up for under 6 thousand. Have you checked the for sale section in this forum?
  21. Looks ok, think it's a non GT mind, therefore the price is pretty high. The pictures don't do it any justice either, it would benefit hugely from a good detail. If you're going to pay top money for one make sure absolutely nothing needs done to it and that nothing will need doing to it for the foreseeable future
  22. Just for a reference I paid 5,9000 for mine, uk spec with brembos 04 plate 59,000 miles
  23. Budget is fine. Just depends what year you're looking for. You could get an absolute minter of a DE engined one for that price.
