Cheers guys, I'm going to have to say something to him today, it's been on my mind all night. It wasn't just me who went out my way last night, my 350Z is currently in the garage getting a new clutch and flywheel so last night I lent my sisters car, my dad had to give me a lift to pick it up. So me, my dad and my sister all had to go out our ways to allow this "practise" to happen. The band is doing quite well and we have a few pretty big gigs coming up at festivals in the summer, these guys were all my best mates for years before forming this band but its driving me apart from them. I've been doing this "dry january" thing all month and its made me realize the extent of their alcohol and substance use. It's so cliche its ridiculous, it was all fun and games a few years ago but I'm nearly 30 now and would like to make a living off this, it's just not possible when everytime we get together everyones in party mode. For the time being Im stuck because the band is doing well and I dont want to throw away a good oppertunity, we have a practise next week and I'm going to refuse to give him a lift, the likelyhood is he will spit his dummy out and take it personally but I don't really care anymore. As long as I keep enabling him to take the **** he will continue to do so.

Man, I can't believe I'm even posting this here but I'm pretty stressed out about this now and an outside opinion would be pretty useful. Aside from working full time I also play in a band, I love music and playing music to an audience but this band is driving me insane. To cut a really long story short I'm currently the only one with a car and our guitarist lives about 15 mile away from everyone else, every single practise I pick him up and drop him off afterwards and I'm getting sick of it. He doesn't seem to consider how much of a pain this is for me and just says "well if you can't pick me up I can't make it". He does have a point, while its possible for him to get on a bus with a guitar and an amp it would obviously be a massive hassle. Tonight was the icing on the cake tho, I begrudgingly drove through rush hour traffic to pick him up after I finished work and once I picked him up he asked me to stop at a shop on the way, he bought 8 cans of beer and managed to drink half of them before we even got to the studio. We turn up and the whole band is drunk apart from me, the practise was absolute chaos, the studio pretty much turned into a party and the practise was useless. I eventually managed to get everyone out and took the guitarist back home in my car, he was in a great mood, cracking jokes and saying what a great night he'd had, by this point I was furious but he was so drunk he had no idea. I messaged him once I got home saying I was really angry about tonight and he said "in fairness it is the weekend and I had planned all along to get smashed tonight" or something along those lines. This guy is one of my best mates but alcohol is turning him into a selfish egotistical douche. Why should I drive him about while he spends the night getting drunk and partying? We were supposed to be having a practise! We have a few good gigs lined up next month and believe it or not we actually sound great, I put up with all this rubbish because it all seems worth while for that brief moment when we share a stage and get the crowd moving. I'm left stuck between a rock and a hard place, if I don't pick this guy up the band will fall apart but I'm starting to resent him for it. Am I going mad here or what? Surely it's obvious why I'm annoyed right?

I'm replacing the clutch and have been speaking to CS about getting the exedy one, I also want a single mass flywheel but I'm struggling to find one in my budget. Ideally I want to spend no more than £300 I can't find any single mass flywheels via google, can anyone help me out with some links? Or any traders on here stock single mass flywheels?

Anyone got a picture of a silver Z on bronze rota GTR's ?? Can't seem to find anything on here or via google.....

My car is on an 04 plate, it's in good nick, clean bodywork and no dents etc but the paint is starting to look a bit old/faded. I'm currently using autoglym shampoo and quick detailer followed with Megs polish, I've not used a clay bar in a long time. It comes out looking nice and clean but I'm really after much deeper wetter looking finish. Is there anything I can do to give my paintwork a bit more life and make it look fresher?

Multiplayer is pants. SinglePlayer i got bored of. Extinction i have no idea whats going on. But Squad match, offt it just gets me wet. Whooping ass and being the last guy alive while the other 3 get mauled because they have no tactics, i lurve it Never played skyrim so it must be pants..... Just sayin I sold Ghost before even trying the other game modes to be honest, I only really play online and it was so bad this year I did the ultimate rage quit and took it back to the shop haha. Skyrim is worth a purchase like, not normally my cuppa but it's managed to pull me away from blops 2 for the last month or so, you thats saying something, I'm a massive cod head, thats all I usually play.

Call of duty ghosts is rubbish! I'm still playing black ops 2 and I've recently started skyrim which has completely taken over my social life

Right screw it I'm going to order a exedy clutch from CS in the near future. I might aswell do the flywheel while I'm at it, can't seem to find any under £300 tho, are their any cheaper flywheel options out there anywhere? No point in parting with the car when its not running right, I might as well face the music and get it sorted before making a decision, that way I'm not rushing into anything either.

Thats actually a pretty good point, maybe it's worth speaking to my insurance company and seeing what it would cost to add another car to my policy. I could buy a little run about and use that while I work out what I want to do with the Z. Think I'm getting cold feet about trading up to be honest, it just doesn't seem right to be paying to trade up to a car that I know is worth less than mine. Then again in my cars current state it probably works out about right. I need to give my brain a rest.

@ Meeerrrk I'd not sell it privately in it's current state, if I'm going to go down that route it will be with a new clutch and 12 months mot. I'd like to think most people would do the same but judging by my luck buying cars in the past I guess that isn't so! I just don't want to rush into anything, the last thing I need is to part ex it for the civic and then have problems with that too. I'm really not sure what to do here, I definitely want another civic but I'd much rather have the cash in my bank and be able to take my time picking the perfect one. At the same time it could end up costing me near to a grand to get the Z in perfect nick and I'd never make that money back selling privately.

Thanks man! My heads just going round and round trying to think of what to do for the best. It certainly doesn't want to be sold thats for sure, I'm not even sure I want to sell it. I've never been so indecisive about something in my life.

You can't make this up...... Yesterday I went down to durham to check out the ep3 type r for sale, I was offered £5400 for my car in its current state and would need to pay £400 towards the type r. I was unsure what to do and told the dealer I'd have a think and call him in the morning. I had pretty much decided by the time I got half way home that I was going to go for it, the EP3 appeared to be immaculate and the test drive made me realize I definitely want another type R, Then this happened..... All power suddenly cut out as if I'd ran out of fuel, then the engine warning light came on along with the traction control light and the slip light. I managed to limp into a car park and waited for recovery whilst kicking myself for not having breakdown cover. I'm hoping this is nothing serious and most probably a sensor problem but for now I have a broken car sat on my drive and the clutch is also on it's way out too. The recovery guy offered to reset the ecu and drop me back off at the garage in the morning to go ahead with the deal, he said "I'll drop you off round the corner reset the ecu and you can just drive in and do the deal", while this would most probably work I'd never dream of doing it, I did laugh at the thought tho. So I've got two options, fix the car and sell privately for a decent price then shop around for a EP3, or take a loss on the 350Z and part ex now avoiding the hassle of being without a car while mine gets repaired etc. To top it off I've came down with some sort of chest infection and I've had to take the day off work today so I've got nothing done. I have no idea how I'm going to get to work and back for the rest of the week. :surrender:

I agree with GM. The EP3 isn't about straight line speed anyway. With a nice few breathing mods and re-map they will run 230bhp no problems and in a car that weighs 1210kg thats plenty.

Cheers lads, I actually used to have a 30th anniversary one too GM. I was much younger then and admittedly ragged the tits off it everywhere, it had over 100k on to and never missed a beat. @ mouthwash, yes its a dealer but the old owner should be on the forum or people should know the car hopefully. @ Harmlu I agree it's overpriced, I could actually get an FN2 for this money now but I'd much rather a very clean late run version of the EP3. The main thing that puts me off is the lack of recaro seats to be honest, I'd expect a decent bit off the price because of that. I have the added bonus of still having the KW variant 3 coilovers sat in my garage along with some other bits and bobs from my old one.

What are peoples opinions on this car/price please..... It's a premier edition but the recaro seats have obviously been replaced with stock ones. Other than that it looks nice and clean, stock intake on the engine and no performance mods. It also has owners club stickers on the windows so I've posted on that forum too to try and find the old owner. It's a little overpriced but it's also local so I'm going to go and have a chat today.

The timing couldn't be any worse really, just after christmas and at a point where I was already getting tired of the car and thinking about selling up. I wouldn't sell it with a clutch on it's way out so it needs sorting, just noticed it slipping tonight on the drive home whilst in a high gear under heavy revs. How long do I have before it starts slipping in every gear and gives up altogether? Not having much luck recently like. How much is this likely to cost me and could anyone recommend where to buy one from? Cheers guys Edit. My car has done 62,000 miles, is it worth getting the flywheel done too?

In my opinion it's not just the engine. It's the weight, how it handles and of course the engine too. I took a ride in my mates s2000 recently, it's a much more raw driving experience than the Z. If my car was just for weekend/track use I'd have the s2000 over the Z anyday.

To be fair the VXR's are really easy to tune, up the boost and away you go. I got absolutely destroyed by one not long ago, it was embarrassing
