Hi all, Well, I am now the proud owner of 'Kimi', a 4 - 5 year old grey and white moggy (renamed from Bakora - as he did not answer to it.). Yes, the one I went to see 2 weeks ago. Fodder obvioulsy knows more about these things than me - he knew I was going to have him before I did !!! I would have uploaded some photo's - but it says my files are too big and I don't know how to change them to fit. They currently are about 7.22 MB. I would appreciate if someone can guide me please. So Day 1 he hid behind the sofa and I had to drag him out and show him around occasionaly. He would sit on the chair beneath the table and allow me to stroke him, obvioulsy this was me sitting beneath the dining table and getting a kink in my neck at the same time !!! Day 3 - he strolls around like he owns he place. He follows me everywhere, albeit he sits on the hallway carpet watchig me in the kitchen as I think the floor is too cold for his delicate paws !! Softy !! He has a strange habit of when walking always stretching out his paws to reveal his claws, but does not scratch anything that I can see - including the scratching post i bought him !!! He likes his ball toys and loves attention. I have had to remind myself several times - this is my house and my rules and this cat does not rule me !!! Already in 6 days his coat is healthier and today he visited the vets for his vacinations, a check up and nail clipping he did not seem to mind any of it - well apart from the journey - i think the K1 exhaust might be a bit loud for him !!! Hopefully I can upload some photo's soon.

Dave - liking your style with the spending, just has to be done sometimes. Looking forward to seeing the 370 photos and on the Scotland trip. Bronze or silver - umm - quite different colours

Most of my female friends fall in love with a car and are not accepting of pretty much any issues raised. Its pretty, the right colour, they can drive it, job done. Drives me nuts  as I really can walk away and am not tempted when all the boxes are not ticked or at least close and understood or accounted for in the deal. But then they think I am odd for having such a passion with cars anyway.
-
OMG - that was horrific. Glad he seemed to be OK. I am presuming it was wet or at least damp the way he came off that grass. His bill from the ring will hurt, two friends of mine both have damaged the armco at huge cost to themselves. I know its hard to get, but fingers crossed he has some kind of insurance that will cover at least some of this for him.

There are charges relating to accepting both Debit and Credit Cards. They also have to pay a monthly rental on the Card Machine usually. If not the charges from the Card companies are often higher. The Debit card usually would cost less, but is all related to volume of business put through these cards. Many Companies do not think to call their Card Company and request reviewed rates, so often these stay as high as when they first took on the Card accepting PDQ machines and these can be high. However all day long it is cheaper to accept cards than bank cash. As long as you have a receipt for exactly what you paid, its up to the Trader concerned to look after his accounts books.

IMO there are too many issues to feel confident the car is legit. Frankly I am surprised you have remembered the whole tale !! Your wife is right about wanting to see a final statement on the finance which you need from the HPI Check company not the seller. Personally I would collect your deposit back shop elsewhere erasing any doubts.

Fodder - Yes, I am thinking he is in with a good chance. Regardless, I was buying all the cat items today regardless of which cat I end up choosing. They are all basic items and the Pet shop said they were happy to take any back if I did opt not to take this cat, so seemed sensible to be prepared and have worked out where everything will live - ideally of course, I appreciate this may change.

I am getting closer................to cat ownership. Today I visited a local and recommended Rescue Centre and found a male Grey Moggie. He came in as a stray, but had been found by people who were feeding him for a few weeks. He sits mainly in his closed bed, happily takes effection but rarely comes out so i am told. He came straight out for me and sat with me for 30 minutes !!! He does not like children or men but is not an angry cat and would only wander off to find his own space. They reckon with time this might change anyway. So, I have reserved him (Bakora), to have a think for a few days to be sure I am making the right decision. He is micro chipped, neutered, wormed not vacinated - this would need doing as they have no way of telling if he has previoulsy been vacinated. His coat is a little scruffy and dusty. I am told by both the Rescue home and the Pet shop this is normal in this kind of enviroment and would change quickly at home. I went to the Doctors in the week to check/confirm I could take anti histermine daily if needed. - sometimes I seem to have allergies and other times not. Check - that's fine. So I have now been and spent nearly £90 on a Cat Litter tray, cat litter, wet and dry food, brush, toys and scratching post. A few nights sleep to confirm I am making the right decision, then a home visit by the Rescue centre to check I am a suitable candidate !! Eek !!!

I am sure the criteria requires a blond for a passenger seat !!!
-
Me too with Hayden and Payco.. Infact he would be cleaning it for the next year too !!!
-
I too have squealing brakes at times, but note it is when gently applying the brake pedal only. I thought about just jumping on the brakes but as this is not always possible and invariably not safe either, I will try some of the suggestions above too.

Found myself on Google Streetview! :D
Wendy replied to The Bounty Bar Kid's topic in Spotted or Flyered
Personally I am really glad not to be on Google Street View. My house is not in view either due to large weeping willow tree. Am I the only one who is happy about this ? -
Can we confirm this was not a road traffic accident ? I had a brain injury road traffic accident (not my car and I was not driving in 2003) I was stopped from driving for 5 months I put my car onto third party fire and theft during this time. My premiums did not increase when I was fit to drive again nor was I bombarded with a mass of medical questions However as this as 12 years ago, so, I would also advise taking advice.

Some nice photo's there guys. Looks fun. I so hope the weather is good next June too.
-
STYLZ - I will send a pm later. I must work !!!!!!!!!!!
-
Andy - Glad to hear you are OK, shame about your zed though, at least you were enjoying it and driving it as you should. Hopefully it will be able to be fixed.

Being called 'clicky' will be the least of my problems if going by leaving you lot alone for 24 hours is anything to go by. Besides, I have been called far worse !!!! Note to everyone - Only the List closed, not the thread.
-
LRF4N - Sounds great. Perhaps a list of those who would like to meet up with us en route, so I can make contact later would be good. So a list of these plus your location please. Thanks I will let you start LRF4N !!!
-
OK chaps, I am closing the list there. I had been thinking about numbers and where to draw the line, not expecting so many people would actually show interest. I am assuming 2 others are joining, 8 is plenty for this trip. I have met most people on the list too which helps, so STLZ and Toothy - have you meet anyone else on the list ? !! I may have a passenger seat available in my car, will advise later, not sure if anyone else has. The trip detail will not be posted on the forum, I would prefer to go off pm too and onto email, easier for longer messages and attachments etc. If those on the list so far would pm me their email addresses and contact telephone numbers please. Location would be good too. For all others it would be great if other forum folk would meet us ad hoc en route joining us for evening/dinner meets perhaps.

OMG - Leave you lot alone for 24 hours and look what you have done !! Can't be trusted for a minute. Can see I will have my hands full on this trip - only joking ! Despite the thread running off course for a few pages, there is too much good information here to restart another I feel. I would be quite happy editing my thread title - can someone please advise me how to do this - as I can't work out how. One person is enough to explain !!! I agree totally re limiting numbers having done the Wales outing with 10 cars and a Euro trip with 27 - that was mayhem in towns.!! However, I do not want to put people off, so will have a think about this. If I can confirm those who are definetely interested in joining this trip it would help greatly. I can then work on what to do should numbers exceed my ideal. Your rough idea of dates or number of days would also help. So 1/ Wendy - 350Z - Full trip
-
Errmm !!! Thanks Dave and glrnet !! Perhaps I should not try to set dates late at night !!!! Its the Lakes Weekend on 25th/26th June (this I def saw on here !)- not Wales - sorry ! Think it might show I serioulsy enjoyed the Wales trip last year and can't wait for the next one. !! I am planning the trip deliberately to cover two weekends to maximise on time. North Oxfordshire/Midlands is a dammed long way up to Scotland !!! Besides I would like to hope the roads would be quieter mid week. Thanks The G Man for the offers of assistance. Nic/ anyone else- re asking friends. At the moment, I would prefer to keep this to the Forum, although once I have more details confirmed and numbers set from here, I will if numbers are low open it up to others. However, I would be asking one or two of my car but non Zed friends too then. Of course tell your friends so they know the dates and are prepared. Brillomaster - yes the Beemer is allowed. How can we not let you with our regular meets !! We might have to make a cardboard box Zed to wrap around it though. I wouldn't mind knowing a little more about the Club Insurance what it covers etc - if someone in the know would pm me please rather than clogging this thread up. Thanks. Tha's all for now Wendy

Ok chaps, Feeling the eagerness and excitement !! . I Will get onto more details of this sooner. Dates - will be very approx. 11th - 18th June. I already have Coventry Motor Festival 4th/5th June - and Wales weekend - 25th/26th, so the only option !! Nothing else in my diary, but June 2016 is fully booked !!!! Hoping this works for everyone showing interest at this stage. Although I am organising the trip by inviting others, it it their trip too. So I will happily do my best to make it suitable, enjoyable and exciting for them as well. Suggestions are great, but not too many please, as I will try to incorporate all them if possible. As it happens whisky is not my tipple either, I still think a visit could be interesting. For those unaware, I have organised a few car forum road trips previoulsy. Both in the UK and 4 or 5 abroad. My last one to Scotland (differing area), was over 10 days from my home, so including both weekends plus.... By nature of booking accomodation, this provides places of meets for dinner. I will aim to have a good point of interest for more people to join us at both the start at end of the trip. This is a good opportunity to reduce trip time if you are looking at the core of the tour, thereby aiming for Sunday through to Friday for instance. It would be good if there were a core group that were travelling the whole route (as I mentioned earlier I would happily book accomodation for a few) and others joining in when possible. Leave it with me, back to you soon. Think I need a spreadsheet already ............ !!!
-
Unlikely to be passing near Aberdeen sadly - a tad too far to the East on this West and Highlands trip !! You would be most welcome to join us somewhere a little more East mind. Inverness is only 2 hours drive (on Google maps) and we are bound to be there at some point.
-
Good to see some immediate interest. Re Le Mans - No idea, not looked as I am going to Le Mans Classic next year and that is in July 8th - 10th. Certainly would be good if the Northern & Scottish Forum folk would join us for a day or two or evening if they cannot commit to longer.

Hi all, Quite a few folk know already, (some I met in Wales) I am planning a road trip for June 16 to Scotland - West Coast and Highland hopefully right up to John O'Groats. Only more recently did I find out about Route 500 or Scotland's Route 66. The trip will be following much of this route, plus more. It will include approx. 4hours driving per day and visit areas of interest. Whisky distilleries, castles etc etc.So very much a driving holiday. I will have a planned route and suggested ideas of places to visit by the end of November with suggested places to stay etc. Dependant on numbers I may be prepared to book these on behalf. The trip will not clash with the June Wales weekend. As soon as I have more details I will post them up. If you would like to show you genuine interest it would help. Thanks Wendy
