Wasn't me - although I pass through Coventry ish often !!

Thought after so long, I should update this thread. My car went into the body shop - Carbody in Banbury. Although the work was good that was done on the car, I did have some problems - mainly in being advised the car would be ready in 2 days, several times to be let down. Then when I finally got it back initially the alloy had not been done, tyre not replaced and was still a scuff on the rear quarter panel. However - everything is good now. I have to say Highway Insurance were superb throughout. Updating me regularly and dealing with any issues promptly and efficiently. I did get a copy of the Insurance work - it came to £2300. I would recommend Highway all day long on my experience.

Agree - this is not a criticism plus many folk are probably not even aware we do actually have Gazebo's, banners etc. I wasn't ......

IMO - Much too large a venue. Much of it looked (The Club Stands) like a Car Park. I felt it was badly organised - everything was very spread out with poor signage. Even when asking the the Marshalls - they obviously had not worked at Silverstone before as they were unable to guide you or have any knowledge of locations within the circuit. I even bought a brochure - the mapping in that was no better. As for the farce of the Stand Tickets - mine did not arrive, but I managed to get in easily !! I thoroughly enjoyed the Drifting however. But other than that don't think I would bother with Japfest at Silverstone again. I was really looking forward to this event and was overaly very dissappointed. OK - the weather did not help - it was freezing !! I appreciate none of this was Adam's fault, as he did his best to organise the Club Stand on hard standing - much appreciated by all and good location too on T4 beside the Paddock Cafe ! Also the 240, 260 and 280 Datsuns so close was a pleasure. Surprised at how many there were. I would like to add - for our Stand - at events like these. Is it possible to have say a Gazebo making a central point for Members to be able to congregate when not wandering around elsewhere. It would add to these events for newer members to be able to stand a chance of meeting up with others more easily. I personally have previously met just a few people, hardly any that I caught up with at Japfest which was dissappointing. Seems very much - the only people you ever really meet at such events are those you convoyed to the event.

Just as I was looking to see what else to attend this year, so i found this. Fantastic - will get organising.

Hi all, I am going to Japfest on Sunday from Banbury. (Off the M40 - Junction 11) Anyone fancy convoy in from this area ? Lovely route around 30 - 40 minutes usually- via Stowe (usually much less traffic than A43) Suggested meet at Frankie and Benny's. Stroud Park, Ermont Way, Banbury OX16 4AE. (2 minutes off the M40 ) Meet Time - Say 7.15 - 7.30am Open to change of meet, time or route if others have preference and can convince me !!! Usual - Add names below ;- 1/ Wendy

Don't ............... I don't want it written off !! I know I then have an option of buy back etc etc. I would probably have to then just hire a R8 or something similar for the Scotland trip !!!!! Regarding a cash pay out and buy another - what a pain that will be, the time and travel alone. It takes me forever to buy new cars, then I only get tempted to buy other things and then the Cayman just might get a look in. !!!! Nothing on my Toolbar is working- what have I done to stop it ?

The Good news - I have not had to dig my cherished newly painted Corrado VR6 out of the garage. I have a Hire Car - it was going to be a KA - short for KAK I think. But no, I have a VW Jetta - whihc personally I am quite happy about. No, its not my 350 but at least I have wheels and a half decent one. My 350 is being collected tomorrow and going to a Bodyshop I know and would be happy to use personally, so that is quite a result too. Initially on hearing the age of my car, it was said - oh that might be a Write off !!!! I know I have not posted any pictures up for any of you to see - but really. 48000 miles, 11 years old and needs a near offside Quarter panel and paint on 3 panels and new alloy. I am not up to speed on the current price of my car - but its got to be 6k plus to replace. I did drive it home and I would be surprised it did come back with a report of the suspension not being straight as I had no concerns what so ever in that area. Anyway enough speculation - I will wait to be advised their further findings and go from there. Fingers crossed it will all runs smoothly.

I was just sat thinking my last accident in 2003 - which I had very bad injuries, again was not my fault - just in the wrong place at the wrong time ! Got to think my self lucky overal, just hate having to deal with all the Insurance stuff. Joy !!!

Ian (Wasso) yes this evening around 6.10pm on the A43 just as you approach the Motorway bridge going into Banbury. I have my Corrado back - she is nicely tucked up in the garage looking very pretty. I got her back early January and would prefer to be leaving her in the garage so hopefully I will get a hire car.

She has been in the wars. There I was minding my own business, sat in traffic when the car infront of me became too impatient and decided to turn around- in the pitch black the oncoming car did not see this and drove straight into her forcing her across the road into me. So my drivers Rear quarter panel is crushed in damaging both adjoining panels. It is driveable but as soon as you hit small bumps the bodywork is rubbing the tyre. I will take photo's in the morning. I feel a little sore, but think this is as I braced myself as I saw it going to happen. Will see how I feel in the morning. I was actually dreading Wasso driving by on his way home and seeing my poor girl. Lets hope the Insurance transition all runs smoothly.

What horrible news to receive today. RIP David Bowie He was the music of my youth. So glad I got to the brilliant V & A Exhibition of his works last year. A great loss. Just in shock and listening to the great artist all day.

Love it although,I would add a Living room and Dining room along the wall of Living Quarters, with a glass corrider so the garage could be viewed without the need to enter it. Plus a balcony around the room - assuming the garage is double height of course - so everything could be viewed from above too.

I think this is also an excellent idea, it really would mean masses to his family. Hoping some people more local can make this. How tragic - to lose someone so young, he seemed a nice fella too.

I have just come back from 10 days away and had to book Kimi into the Cat Hotel while I was gone. While this was very plush and I took in his toys and mirror (Yes - mirror - he loves looking at himself (What a Boy ?? !!!! ) I felt awful about it and thought of him loads. I know right softy ! Anyway, unlike any other cat I have ever known, he was all over me when I got him home, so loving, so demanding attention and not at all cross. I can only think having been in a Rescue home for 4 months, then with me only for 3 months, he was afraid he was being abandoned. Poor love, he has also not been 100% since home, just 2 days, he seems to have got himself into a bit of a state (nerves - I reckon) and has a slightly upset tummy which I hope settles just as quickly. Yes, I know - photo's are still needed of my handsome chap !!!

I too had not had the honour to meet Martin, so sad to hear this news none the less. I agree we should still run the Lakes event in his honour. RIP Martin.

Not that we did that of course !!!!! Dave - It was one of these that I borrowed on the Wales weekend. I have to agree with Chirag they worked well.

I too had an Hillman Imp - cost me £300 though. It was the Kermit Green colour ! Had to sell it when there was nothing left to skim off the ali head !!!! Was done 3 times in my ownership !! Brilliant first car, had a bit of poke and quite go karty.
