  1. The MZ5 are supossed to be great fun and cheap running. There are MK5 Club Track DAy events and race series I believe. Certainly was a few years back when I was looking at the Race Series. Have to say I am loving driving a Rear wheel drive on track. It seems so much more natural to me.
  2. Wow, I only knew of the S220 catching fire !!! Then the Red flag - which they dealt with very quickly. I had an Elise overtake me who was then to fast into a corner and did a nice 360 off !! Was very amusing !! A wide track and saw some 3 abreast on the straights, they sorted themselves just before the corners- fortunately !! Oh and thanks Rob - that would be great.
  3. Might take me a week to recover from the neck strain, the bruises from the harness and arm muscle ache !!!!!!!!!!! But what an excellent day at Thurleigh yesterday with Brillo. Despite the stupid hour I had to depart from home !! Nice dry day, we managed to bag a Pit garage and what a friendly crowd around us. Really adds to the day. Nice to meet Rich too in his 350z. Can't tell you how much if bugged me when you overtook, but I was on m Out Lap so could do little about it . Grgh !! Over 90 cars and boy as there some nice machinery. So many Porsches, 3 GT3's, a GT4, Radicals, Atoms, Ginetta's, plus Caterhams and Westfields and a range of other stuff. I chatted to a Disabled chap who drove his GT4 all with hand signals My Step Dad would have loved to have been able to do this. Sadly his accident was some 40 od years ago and life was nothing like now for a disabled person. A long circuit over 4 miles, so took some time to become knowledgeable - of sorts !! No trees or reference points do make it harder. Thank goodness for the signs of the corner on approach. They helped massively. I can honestly say that car is quite amazing to take such brutal driving. Although we did (well Brillo did !!) change the brake pads at lunchtime. !! I just provided banter and abuse !! lol ! Roll on the next one !!! Thanks Brillo
  4. I have taken one of the Semi Race Prepared Suzuki Swifts around the Ring also hired locally. Surprisingly good it was too !! I would strongly recommend hiring a car even with the 5k in excess costs. As Ekona - any damage to the circuit barriers or closure of the track is heavy. But, you still have your car and can get home. !! It does have to be done though.Fantastic experience !! Not sure I would want to do it on a bike though. Scary. !! Unless you were able to have a bike only session. Then pretty amazing I would think.
  5. Bump !! Mainly as a reminder- I will be cancelling any spare rooms on Sat 14th April. I do now have just one room free all trip, which can be split should anyone wish to join us for part of the trip.
  6. Just a quick update chaps. Hopefully everyone above has had contact from me via Pm and possibly email. Let me know if not. Please let me know if you need any accomodation on/before April 14th - Thanks - after this date I am cancelling any spare currently booked. Not long now and with a gloriously sunny weekend here out in the car too, for 6 hours Really brought the excitement on. Cheers Wendy
  7. No matter how broke I have been, My Private Health insurance has seen me right many a time, well worth it. Monday must seem like an age with the pain you are describing mind.
  8. Sadly I am not in that price bracket, but I think it is still very relevant.
  9. I am still in shock you are only 37 by the posts you make !! Thought you were at least 90 to be so grumpy so often !! At least you have reason this time !! Hopefully the NHS pulls round for you. Can you really not swop over to your Private Health now ? I would certainly try. Good Luck
  10. Thanks for the replies guys. I have worked through a list of Pro's and Con's with my experience so far. Purple Bricks only come top on price - annoyingly. From the agent I met - he seems to encourage Bidding Price Wars through their Website bidding system for potential purchasers. Was not able to provide a valuation for my house, stating he did not know the area well enough - So he did no homework then !! Not once did he say he liked my house. Even if I say so myself - it is a good house. Could not attend my house for over 10 days from my initial enquiry. Has made no follow up call. I had been trying to get my head around this and just accept it and go for the price but think I am left actually having to spend quite alot more to get Customer Service. I have had local agents around - the difference is huge. If only it were a few years on - when even more folk are Internet savy. I did however find out - some Local Agents do not advertise on Zoopla or Right Move - What really - yes, due to the expense ! Worth remembering to ask if anyone else is in the same boat.
  11. Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has either Sold or purchased using Purple Bricks and is able to offer their experience. Selling : - How long did it take to sell ? Did you do your own viewings, did you feel potential purchasers were able to negioate with you ? Purchasing - Were you put off by no local agent and the seller completing their own viewings ? Did you negotiate with the Seller or the Purple Bricks agent ? Thanks in advance for your views and experience. WEndy
  12. Sadly do not think F1 is interesting enough to consider purchasing Sky right now. But then of course - if the season looks as if it may become interesting I might just purchase it !!
  13. Don't sit on the fence then ? !!! Or even be gentle. !!! Good job we are all different !
  14. I am just peeved about the ones I will miss - as in all the ones on Sky. How to lose even more fans and supporters. !! Dan - What is wrong with Kimi ? - I named my cat after him ! He perhaps is not always at his best which is sad, but then I wonder about team politics. When on form - I think he is an excellent driver and entertaining to watch - in rallying too!
  15. Bit late coming to this !! Reading from the beginning I am at least getting the abbreviated (and your views and comments) version. Thanks Chaps.
  16. Stylz - I am in the process of trying to work the trip so it can incorporate those in certain areas so they can join for a evening/ day/few days etc I will pm you - by the weekend !
  17. Glad to hear those brakes pads are done !!! Hope she passes her MOT with ease. Looking forward to the day - hopefully it will be dry !!
  18. Great. :-) Would either of you be interested in joining the trip for a day or two ? I will keep Accommodation for now, but likely to cancel extra places by mid April latest. Any more takers ? I thought there were more Forum people in the North than currently it appears. We are not too scary - well the rest of them aren't !!! lol
  19. So where are all the Scottish owners, surely not hibernating till Spring !! It's already here (just) in the south !! We will endeavour to bring some heat with us.
  20. I would say that is about right. I have had some very good paintwork done (fortunately )- and respray done more more recently. Please do view some of their finished and existing work before committing. I did view approx. 6 differing Body shops and of all shapes and sizes and approx. 30mile radius of home before making my decision !! I am so glad I took the time. Well worth it. Oh and prices were all over the place. I went just above average. Good Luck oh and Please set dates you want it back.Bodyshops are notorious for failing in his area.
  21. I also don't get how the women end up with everything. ??? ||||| Even some when children are not involved too ?? What, why ? IMO it is not right. Yes if there are children involved, then the children should be catered and cared for in Mum or Dad's house !) Surely as everyone is involved, everyone's life requires adjusting, not just the man's. I know too many men who are struggling due to this. I found out many years later after my Father left - he really struggled. My Mother did collar him royally. Even though I did not see my Father after he left when I was 10, I have never thought this was right. A story. One evening running a Quiz In Banbury Town on foot for the Scouts, we (6 of them were with me),on the street sat in a doorway was a homeless person. The Scouts practically crossed the street to avoid him. I was fuming !!!!!!!!!!!! (My smiley thingies are not working !!) I marched them round the corner out of sight and hearing of the homeless chap and asked the reasons. They had all been told they were dirty, smelly not nice people. !! That's it - I was shocked, maybe naively ! I had to explain how easy I felt it was to end up in this situation. In brief............ Man & women living together they split up. Man has to pay for children and possibly wife while living elsewhere which he pays for. Man loses job and has no other support. Easy to end up on the street. Of course they may be dirty even smell, but not nice people was not necessarily true. Another time, I taught them to use Butter Knives !! lol
  22. Nooooooooooooooo !!! So sad !!
  23. I have to admit, I too agree with 'women rarely let you out of a side junction'. I really don't get it !! In turn because I do, I often get strange looks !! lol I rarely get wound up in my car, with one exception- Tailgaters - really make me mad, but even then I would not make hand signals, just slow a little- to speed limit !! I do however get frustrated at the lack of use of indicators so trusting no-one, even if they do use them. Back to my old point - I wish everyone re-sat their driving test every 10 years.
  24. Just thinking while cleaning the Cat Flap !!!! My cat is on the larger size, he is nearly a British Blue, so hair gets caught around the sides. What a brilliant idea if someone invented inner brush for the cat flap. Save on grooming as often !!
  25. Life is what you want it to be ! No one has to follow the rules of others. I think we should make our own way in life. Maybe that's why I am single !!! lol And happy with it and my male cat. !!
