  1. Hi folks Apologies if this has been answered before. I am considering wheels spacers (20mm front, 25mm rear) on my Z. I'm running Rays 18s and standard suspension. Looking for some feedback on whether there is any noticeable change to the handling? (Increased understeer / steering sensitivity etc) Thanks in advance.
  2. I have a pair of SNR up front - so far so good. Also, I have a spare second hand wheel bearing including hub assembly if you're interested in buying it- I originally bought it off Zmanalex on here but never fitted it. I'll drop you a PM.
  3. Oh wow That is a rare machine - huge congrats and well wear. Looks like your enjoying it so far. Power aside, does it feel drastically different to the 'standard' 350z?
  4. PS4: gleesmj Playing GTA V, Project Cars and Dirt Rally.
  5. I'm really enjoying it so far but I don't think I'll be playing it if I am tired or in a bad mood I made the mistake of first jumping in the Peugeot 208 T16 and tried to make a stab at climbing a [wet] Pikes Peak. Not a chance. Couldn't even round the first corner haha. Back to the Mini until I've learned to drive it a bit better. I got the 'Legends Edition' too which is pretty cool. I'm also playing Project Cars. Similar initial levels of frustration when I first started playing but the attention to detail and realism is fantastic. Do you guys normally race online? I'm on the PS4 if anyone fancys a race and my PS handle is gleesmj if anyone wants to add me.
  6. Only seeing this now but no doubt you're probably already back from London! I took a train out to the Joe Macari dealership near Southfields and had a browse around the showroom. I came out of the place feel rather depressed that I could not afford anything they had for sale in there! Knightsbridge is pretty cool for spotting all the supercars. There's a Ferrari and McLaren dealership up around there too. Further up North there is the Bob Forstner dealership where the security guard wanted £2 to "donate to charity" and allow you entry in Last time I was over there was for the U2 concert and didn't get to do much car stuff but did go to Greenwich and to the London Eye which was pretty cool too. It's a great city.
  7. I'm a sh!te amateur mechanic and I did this job in about an hour! It's not hard at all. This diagram is useful just ignore the "remove this pulley" comment:
  8. Mines been off the road for the last 4 and half months! It should be good to go - check tyre pressures and inflate as necessary. Also, if the petrol tank has been low whilst its been sitting up there may be moisture built up inside. I guess filling her up with petrol should sort that out.
  9. I fitted this kit just before christmas, no complaints what so ever, feels great, revs up quicker now. Theres a little bit more transmission noise but that will be inevitable with a SMF í ½í±í ¼í¿» The is the Xtreme SMF lighter than the stock DMF? If so, do you know by how much roughly?
  10. I've searched online but to no avail - can anyone advise what inside diameter size clear / transparent hosing I need to fit snugly over the Brembo bleed nipples? I was going to buy some tubing from a hardware store but they come in sizes 5/8 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch. I am guessing 3/8 but wondering if it's still too big. Thanks
  11. Would you sell the air filter on its own? Thanks.
  12. Agreed, will have to bleed the line after reattaching the caliper. It's likely the car will be sitting up for a few days you see, so I don't want the brake system emptying. Are brake line clamps safe to use? Reading online it seems that some people are against it for fear of weaking/damaging the rubber hose. In my case it could be a few days of being clamped.
  13. Hi all, Looking for some advice here - I need to remove the front passenger side brembo caliper from the car. I was hoping to unscrew the bolt at the end of the brake line that goes directly into the caliper itself. Is there any way to minimise fluid loss so the reservoir doesn't empty? I don't have anything the plug the end of the brake line with nor do I really want to clamp the rubber brake line hose further up. I also want to reduce air getting in to the open end of the brake line. Any tips from someone who has done this before? Thanks.
  14. OllyB & Bradders - LMFAO! @Bradders - I'm in Dublin, Ire. I think I'll be getting the caliper off and check some of the engineering places around tI see if they can help. I think the thread was already snagged to begin with - it was a lot stiffer than the driver side even when unscrewing.
  15. Was changing front discs today. Went to refit and tighten the caliper bolts on the passenger side but could not get them fully tightened and they are about 3mm from being fully screwed on. They will not tighten any further. I took them out again and it looks like the screw thread in the caliper is sheared about half way in. I'm a complete idiot to say the least. Any ideas what I can do? Hoping I don't need a new caliper.
  16. I always wondered, if there is no obvious play / wear in the bush itself from applying a pry bar, how does one conclude whether it's the bush or the ball joint?
  17. Got sorted with this. First replaced the CR2016 battery with a new one- tried it and the central unlocking didn't work. Did the reprogramming steps and it worked first time! Nissan do make it very easy thankfully. Not sure how the key fob lost its pairing with the car, probably a dead battery, but it's all fixed now.
  18. Thanks for clarifying. Looks like a new battery and a recoding will be the answer then.
  19. Went down to stick the new insurance disc on the Z just a moment ago and noticed the cental locking wasn't working via the key fob. I just replaced the battery on the key fob about a year ago. Don't have a spare fob. The car unlocks via putting the key in the door. And the car starts first time so no issue - I was expecting it not to start if the key fob battery was gone thus not powering the immobiliser chip. Can the battery on the fob be so low that it won't activate the central locking but will keep the immobiliser chip activate? I have steps in reprogramming the key fob - is this the right thing to try and do? It was working fine last week.
  20. I had a little scare back last summer... it hadn't rained properly in about a week and a half and we had a good bit of sunshine during that time. Then, one Sunday morning it started lashing. I was on my way heading to Cars & Coffee and stopped off to pick up another Z owner. We were stopped at a red light and once green and I made a right 90 degree turn onto a dual carriage way. I was doing probably 15-20 mph and as I was applying the throttle slowly coming out of the turn and the back end stepped out... very much so....it just kept going and going... Quick countersteer stopped me going towards the barrier. The roads were incredibly greasy - like ice The best thing was that right behind me at the lights looking out on to the junction was a Police traffic corps car... they saw it all.... they caught up to me further down the road alongside me... had a good look... laughed... then kept going. It clearly didn't look like an intentional drift!
  21. Thanks, that's very kind of you. I should be ok - I've had most stuff delivered here to the office with no major problems! I PM'd Alex - the £112.50 Banana arm was a limited special offer. I think he was selling non-oem ones as well - for like £150... must check and see if any other members are running them.
  22. That's what I thought too - £250 each plus about £12 for the cone / seating cup.
