However mature for 21 MM is, that was just bad judgement. I know its easy to sit in my chair and say, should have just settled for 2nd, but with Rossi closing taking up to .5 a sec a lap out surely you would realise your fighting a loosing battle on the softer tyre particularly. Strange tyre choice too, equally as quick on the yellow but choose the red which was on the temp limit? Whats up with George, lost the plot because Rossi is beating him do you think?

SOLDParello's Purple & Gold Bagged 370z
Jetpilot replied to parello9's topic in Member Build Projects
Absolutely, but that Is the problem with opinions, everyone has one and you cant argue it, even if you are in a better position to offer a more balanced response because of actual experience. Derogatory statements hiding behind the opinion banner are just Inflammatory though and see no need for them -
I have never really had a problem buying from the states or japan to be fair, certainly not on delays. I have ordered things from Japan on the same day as ordering things from the UK and they have arrived quicker believe it or not. As long as you have your eyes open with regard to the charges there are some bargains to be had, bought some stuff for jet skis in the past and its been half price.

SOLDParello's Purple & Gold Bagged 370z
Jetpilot replied to parello9's topic in Member Build Projects
Big fan of obscure colours on wheel, as most know from my build thread, but, just think the spokes are a little too thin to pull the blue off, its not enough colour because of the thickness of the spoke, it looks like the blue film thats on stainless steel extractors or kitchen doors to protect them and you have forgotten to take it off, only imho of course I am in complete agreement with you though regarding your personally choice, i actually like the fact some people dont like how i have done my car, because if it appealed to such folk, i would have been mortified I am positively pleased they dont like it :) -
DBA Discs & Ferodo DS2500 Pads Review (road and track)

That might be a clue -
Do luck is the only other rear bumper, infact the whole kit is nice See Humpys build thread.

It is popular, but imho its probably one of only a couple that looks better than oem.

"most" replica kits will need work, even some originals will need work i.e Chargespeed, Ings etc On the most part though originals will need very minor fettling if anything, replicas will often need more extensive work to get lined up/follow the shape etc I bought a replica Chargespeed rear last year and by the time it was made to fit properly and sprayed it would have cost the same to have bought and fitted an original, in hind sight i should have just gone original. A replica would be fine if the savings were there, but it does need to work out cheaper than an original imho. I guess it also depends on how particular you are I understand Tarmacs replicas to be very good, but was under the impression rt performance were also, sadly my findings were quite different and soon after someone else raised issue on the same basis of fitment. The good thing with grp/frp it is easy to modify, not sure you will find any plastic kits, even genuine Nismo is grp/frp. Genuine Nismo would be your best bet if you want to just bolt up and not have to fettle.

http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/96879-rear-spoiler/ Check this thread Wendy. The guy is paying £2.5k for tri coat and a fair chunk of other work, wiper/aerial delete and other works not mentioned. He does mention its a friend but a the tri coat and other work are above normal.

The lesser the number the further towards the arch.

I am only happy with perfection, i cant really say much more, if you think i could get a car featured in a magazine that was below par, i cant really give much more of a reference Granted that was a few years ago but still use the same guy, he quoted me £1800 to do my 350z in the last 6 months. That is full prep, repair some little blemishes, lights out, bumpers off, windscreen and rear screen out etc He has an oven with dust extraction etc Lets put it like this, he is the only guy i would trust to do my car. I have spent a small fortune on having cars, bikes, jetskis, wheels and anything you can think of painted. The best sprayer i ever knew worked in a shoddy old back street garage with no oven. His work was stunning, custom pearls, flakes, kandies, flames, escallops, he was highly regarded in the american muscle and hot rod world, he painted many a show winning car, but his price was always sensible. With my experience of having spent a small fortune with painters, £4k is fantasy, but if thats what you think is correct and feel comfortable with, fill your boots

Its false economy to do anything other, when i bought my car the previous owner had just changed the clutch but because he was selling the car he didnt want to do the flywheel because of cost, it judders pulling away at low revs.
-
As mentioned, from past experiences of having loads of cars sprayed with quality work One i had done ended being a feature car in magazine so the quality was tip top Full colour change (except for under bonnet), just a shade over £2k but that was fitting new front bumper and side skirts If you pay more than that, your having your pants pulled down, unless its a special paint like House of Kolor etc
-
From past experience for the size of the 350 and a decent job you would be looking at £1500-£2000 for a full respray in most manufacturers standard colours. I have just had a couple of quotes for a brand new oem bulge bonnet to be painted, £200-£300 I was looking at a similar option of getting one of the chips away guys in to tidy some bits so will report back.

Of course they are if you commute in one during the week and to the shops with the family, then spend the cash you saved on your weekend toy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Fully agree with this, it's like horses used to be like cars are now but cars are the necessity and horses are ridden for recreation in modern times. I think that's how it's going to be in 20-30 years electric for the boring stuff and petrol for recreational/hobbyists Its a good reference, but cars superseded horses, if the car wasnt as good as a horse, we would still be using horses. Ev's are not going to be as good or life changing as the transfer from horse and cart to the internal combustion engine. They may suit the op (and others) driving habits, but how far away are we from seeing it as viable alternative for haulage/shipping/air travel, until then a few people driving an electric car is like taking a dustpan and brush to tidy up after a volcano or typhoon, in reference to its impact on the environment, which is the whole reason of their existence. Air travel produces 2 to 3 times as much pollution per passenger as them using their cars for the equivalent distance, can anyone see an electric plane happening any time soon??
-
Do you mean for you? Or as a viable product for the marketplace? As a successor to ich.
-
Ok, so your hook, line and sinker on battery ev's, no problem with that Sadly a video clip from obviously an Incredibily Intelligent man, who has a vested Interest isnt going to sway me. Your still using fossil fuels Your still harming the environment Your still producing co2 And whilst ever we have oil In the ground and large reserves are still being found, anything else will be a non starter
-
Probably very true, but they would have you believe they do
-
Interesting thread But there in above, imho, lies the killer blow to anything electric, whilst there is oil in the ground and companies are making billions of pounds worth of profit, everything else is doomed. The only way to make ev's attractive at present is by subsidies, what happens when that stops. What happens when/if the government, like diesel, realises people are actually buying these and they are loosing revenue from fuels, congestion charges etc They need the revenue, no two ways about it. Least we not forget where most of our electricity comes from, burning fossil fuel. 46% gas, 31% coal fired, roughly only 5% comes from renewables. I am sure some people think electricity is magic and it just "happens". Factor in the mining necessary for precious metals needed for the batteries (and disposal when dead) and to me it just doesnt add up that these vehicles are as environmentally friendly as a lot think.
-
^^^^ Exactly this. Someone may be desperate to sell, needs the money, moving abroad etc Just go in with your eyes wide open and go through the car with a fine tooth comb
-
Dont loose faith in the 350, these incidents could happen to any car and it would cost the same to fix. *smoking pending. Every time i look at my car i see imperfections, door dinks etc but i would bet 90% of people wouldnt even notice. Its a good looking car and people wont be analysing every panel, just enjoying looking As others have said a dent doctor would sort it no problem.

new buyer, seen one nissan fairlady with no service book should o buy?
Jetpilot replied to tiffanylee's topic in 350Z General
That's a surprise, I though they all had to have one fitted to comply with UK regs, mine has a Cobra immobiliser. Churchill did not charge me a cent more for it being an import. There were never any regs for sva that required alarms etc, most insurance companies would like to see one fitted. Imports often wont cost anymore to insure as you say, its a popular internet scare mongering from people that read it somewhere and continue to perpetuate the myth. There are just fewer insurance companies that are happy with underwriting imports, so sometimes you have to hunt around to price match. -
I would imagine the only solution is to swap out the lcd panel on the pcb board. An electronics guy could do this, although dont know anyone I can recommend. Probably easier to find some replacement clocks and have the mileage altered to match. I swapped to some Uk clocks on my jdm and got the mileage adjusted to read the correct cars miles.

My Zed was the first one i looked at, everything checked out, the price was right so didnt feel the need to continue the search. You do hear countless stories of people looking at dogs, so if you find one that fits the bill, buy it On the other hand, i just changed my daily, i looked at three, the fourth was right so bought it
