In principal I agree, but pointless forcing someone to vote to only put a line through It, you still wouldnt get a balanced opinion on that basis. If your like smd who really doesnt want to vote, forcing them to make a vote isnt balanced either. Although i dont believe for anyone minute that if push came to shove and was forced to make a vote an educated man couldnt make a rational choice. I dont feel one party fully gets my vote, but, would prefer one over the other options. Most people dont vote rationally anyway, they vote on the party their parents voted for or just because they have been bought up to dislike the opposition. Its only when you get older your opinion perhaps changes. My vote wont be going its normal direction this year, first time in years.

Worse than the last labour government who put this country into the worst recession we have probably ever seen dave has go us out of recession, ahead of most other eu countries, I think they have cleared up the mess quite well

Tbf Dave put forward some good thoughts, whether they do it or not is a different thing entirely: No instantly being eligible for benefits for migrants, only able to claim if they have paid in for 4 years. If they dont have a job in 6 months there out. Eu reform and a yes no vote in 2017.

In the small bits I watched I felt the same, DC seemed very calm whilst EM seemed to get a bit chewy. Hung parliament again though I reckon.

A few people on here and 5 million other viewers in Britain apparently want a love in, or they just enjoy the show and the presenters Of course its not untrue the whole car race thing etc has been done, BUT, as said, it matters not a single jot if its been done a million times, if your viewer numbers, revenue stream and all the other associated spin offs are as good as they were because of that format, why on earth would it need changing, refreshing or evolving as you have said here and in previous posts before we knew the outcome. Their hand has now been forced though so we shall see if TG carries on with its previous success and whether its the brand or name that has drawn people to the show and i would be willing to make any type of bet (read contribution to the club) that TG figures will be no where near its previous ratings by the end of the first series!

I hate to be rude and i am not trying to be, but, who cares what you think/thought about the show, it didnt need to be any more creative than "oh lets race a car from here whilst blah blah etc" it was a raging success, just because it doesnt appeal to you, doesnt mean it needed changing just to suit your watching requirements, as the below without shadow of a doubt proves. It had 5 million viewers in this country, 350 million worldwide, £150 million revenue stream, 23 million fans on facebook, 4m subscribers to its youtube channel etc I hate the Xfactor with a passion, but who am i to argue with its viewers numbers/revenue stream, to think, it needs refreshing or changing would be borderline insanity. If you seriously think you have the answers to what the people want out of TG, the BBC are looking for someone just like you

Genuinely very interested in the re invention of TG. Of course I will watch it in the hope they come up with something worth watching. But really, where does it go. I dont like to keep referencing it but do 5 million people really want to watch a car review show, 5th gear suggests not. I am sure if there was a format they would have implemented it. Why is Chris Harris so popular, is it his journalism skills or the fact he gets in cars and power slides them round circuits? Aka the TG boys, ex boys should i say.

But he hasnt gone or lost his job, he just Isnt having his contract renewed. He is still employed by the BBC as we speak.

Agree with all of that marzman. I would hate to see Chris Evans take on presenting Top Gear, ...really don't rate him as much of a presenter tbh. I think Steve Coogan as himself would be quite good, maybe with Jimmy Carr (as he's into cars) and Rowan Atkinson too. That would be an interesting 3 man team I think although nowadays they'd probably want to introduce a woman into the team as well just to appear at least a little PC. Couple of shouts for Jimmy Carr, surprising really, he Is the most non pc comedian there Is With a woman heading up the task of looking for a new direction for Tg, perhaps you can expect to see a woman on the show and probably someone of an ethnic persuasion too for the added balance and equality

I would say the first show of the new series will have to be something pretty special to keep people watching or it wiĺl be like rats deserting a sinking ship.

A smart business decision to get rid of the presenter of a 150 million revenue stream, perhaps you and me have different ideas about whats smart in business Will him going have an impact on this, only conjecture and opinion can be aired on that, way too early to tell. It was the sensible option, but it showed no back bone and was in my view pc, for that reason, they really havent done anything. Should have been an instantly sackable offence as suggested elsewhere, i am sure it would have been in his contract and if he was in breach of his contract, its very easy to terminate

Of course its pc, they havent really done anything, just decided not to renew his contract. I am sure as its banded around elsewhere in this thread, work place violence would result in instant dismissal, he would have broken his contract, no need for loads of paperwork except his p45!

Ironically most of the times i have been they are stood around on the pit wall, even though they were free, says a lot about most track day drivers if you ask me

Comment of the week from my 82 yr old mum, i quote, "all this fuss over a split lip" Anyway, onwards and upwards, hopefully that wont be the end for the three amigos, i hope they do something else obviously somewhere else, maybe even after the watershed, every cloud and all that and will it be soon ,i.e before the new TG. I guess we shall all now see (at some point) whether TG was JC or vice versa
