  1. Never been stopped for tints and doubt you will find many have, unless your in a antisocially loud chav chariot driving like a t*t in residential areas attracting loads of unwanted attention. Never seen a mot test station have any sort of measuring devise for light intensity either If you were stopped for tints, ask for a light metre reading to show %
  2. I agree, but i get the feeling some of these circuits just wont be available for us common folk to enjoy into the future and would be great to just tick the box before its too late. For the cost of some bungs its worth a try, they are only an hour from me and have said i can pop in for a check before i book so will be good to know anyway
  3. .5 @ 45 degree Welcome to world of complaining residents
  4. I have a real hangering to go round Thruxton again, although the last time was on my bike its a great circuit and an hour up the road. Problem is the restrictive db requirements, 90db. I am led to believe a std 350 is 92db and i am running a hks true dual and berks. Its not loud by any stretch but wont meet the 90db. So a question, has anyone got any data of roughly how much some bungs might cut db levels by from previous findings?
  5. Thoughts on some of the rarer Scoobs going up, type ra's, maybe even sti's?
  6. Catch 22 imho. Getting it done will probably not net you anymore than the works will cost but may make it more saleable because its very up together. On the other hand, priced accordingly it may sell quick because of the lower price to someone who may want to wrap or colour change.
  7. I know the gt3's are good cars but cant really appreciate why these figures are being generated, same with the above thread. A mate of mine bought a Ferrari 360 CS 2nd hand, only drove it for 6 months but took him near on a year to sell It after that and at a hefty loss and look at prices of those now. There Is a fella local to me who makes a very tidy living selling new cars at a premium, mostly all of them go out to the uae. He is blacklisted by all the major manufacturers but for a nice drink and a days ownership there are plenty of people happy to let him use their name and details.
  8. I would say that is probably more to with buying the right car at the right price, i.e a sensible purchase. I have never been a fan of going on current advertised prices and unless your in the market with cash in hand, you never know what they actually sell for I wouldnt buy a car as an investment as you are limiting yourself to a % return or particular sum, unless your prepared to sit on for some time. Much better as you have done, buy a car, improve, enjoy the experience and sell on without concerning yourself with "profit"
  9. Some good shouts Anything really left field, i,e something you wouldnt naturally think about?
  10. So what cars do you think will be in the next generation of the above, I guess 90's onwards? Apart from the general Ferraris etc
  11. Seems to have slowed down again, its been nigh on painful at times today?
  12. Sorry to hear that buddy, its probably no consolation that it seems a rare occurrence on here
  13. Not really, if you want a "new" car for whatever reason and your budget is "x", your not buying 2nd hand regardless of whats available and budget, because its not "new".
  14. No question and would have one, as mentioned above, in a heartbeat over whats available new. But its not a new car whichever way you cut it.
  15. Spoken like an ex owner, lol, do you ever venture on there Lee. Decided after my mini rant to log out and never return, sad to see!
  16. Of course you can, everyone does unless they're utterly, utterly minted. And if they are, they're not buying the poverty spec McLaren If you want a NEW car, your not looking at the 2nd hand alternatives. I would be looking 2nd hand all day, but some people will want new for the kudos that brings, spec it exactly as they want it, be the first to own, new model etc To be honest, no one would buy new in your logic, as most likely there is always a better 2nd hand option. Maybe comparison is the wrong word But if you want new, you wont be "comparing" against 2nd hand alternatives, no matter what they might be
  17. Granted, but you cant compare new with 2nd hand. I am firmly in the 2nd hand car camp, but if you want to buy new, its another contender/choice
  18. So how about this on a twist to them, better value for money? http://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-britishcars/mclaren-540c-coupe-revealed/32002
  19. I keep a check on the Rx7 forums as still love em and there are some great built threads, but on the whole, the market is so shady now. The only reason i bring this up is because i see a few comments (not pointing fingers at anyone in particular) on the decline of the 350z due to the owners its attracting, price bracket and modifications etc but wow, having witnessed the slow demise of Rx7 ownership, the 350 has got a long long way to go yet. The most notable thing are parts, particularly engines being sold only for new or prospective buyers to find out they are nothing like described, rebuilt status, who rebuilt them, porting etc Its a disgrace. The stupid thing is, its such a small marketplace, every car is pretty well known and builders know exactly what they have built and put into the engine, its just dodgy dealings all over the place. When the for sale threads on here get littered with people trying to palm off all kinds of rubbish and disputes about whats been bought, run for the hills and sell the thing! Until then make hay whilst the sun shines, you got to love the honesty of the owners on here and long may it continue
  20. I wonder if you would do a huge favour Parello. If you have any wrap left, just cut out a little piece and cover the triangle on the corner of the headlight, would love to see the front end of a 370z without those triangles on the light
  21. Your not going to loose that talent in 2 years, the only thing i guess he would lack is fitness which may affect race distance, the only unknown is, was he up to MM pace, he knows he can beat Rossi, George and Danny, i would say the test times must have been good To ask another question, would Honda want Stoner/Marquez in the same team, it could end in tears. Danny was your perfect number 2, unlikely to win a championship but regularly on the podium. All speculation at the moment, fingers crossed though as would love to see him back just for the riding style, even if it was coming in 2nd to MM.
  22. I would suggest that Stoner doing the Susuka 8hr means he is no slouch still, he must have been on or very near the pace when he tested at Sepang Stoner/Marquez at Philip Island, now that is a race i would love to watch
  23. I agree with the win or crash trying, but with the way Rossi had caught him, he wasnt going to be able to keep up with the pace so discretion was the better part of valour in this instance imho, or just try to hang on and throw a mad move on the last lap. Just read an interview with MM and he said he had saved a bit of tyre to fight in the last couple of laps and thought he could, who am i argue I have heard a lot of chat about Stoner, Livio Suppo was interviewed at America and he said it seemed a bad strategy to get Stoner onto a bike at 2 circuits he hasnt ridden, probably a fair call, but surely better than Hiroshi Aoyama racing with the open class bikes way back in the pack? Maybe we will see him back if Danny is away for any length of time, cant be good for Repsol Honda, kind of begs the question though, where is the motivation for Stoner, he didnt want to race anymore, has no chance of winning the title, whats in it for him, unless he wants to prove a point, i.e he could still win a race. Certainly makes for the rest of the season being entertaining and hopefully will go down to the wire.
  24. Bikes are definitely ace, particularly after watching F1 today. Awesome that they can race so close and on the most part come off unscathed. I guess MM just thought he had the pace to put enough of a gap into the field without being caught, it nearly worked, only 2 laps shy, but really should have just settled for 2nd and gone into the next race 5 points down on VR, not 25. Just got to love that corner were he was backing it in for 200 metres and then just drop it on his knee and hit the apex, everytime
