I wouldnt have thought oem discs were black, i could be wrong though, maybe the previous owner painted them.

Dba's arent really cheapy discs, but have suffered the same on mine tbh (dba's). You will get it on most discs imho, i have always found a good coat of smoothrite keeps the rust at bay Only way to actually not worry at all is get 2 piece discs with aluminium bells

Hardly an example and he wasnt caught, it was posted on facebook!! I am not doubting for one moment the fella hasnt got skills and in control, but really, you choose to go out onto a public highway and do that, then post it on facebook, what argument can you possibly have? He was hardly the victim he portrays himself to be. I am afraid this and the other thread surrounding the lads in the Seat are just way to close, a split second in time and it could be a Seat thread all over again, perhaps not as dramatic obviously. I am no angel but there is a time and a place and generally, roads are neither the time nor the place, especially when a camera is involved I think he was going to be found guilty from day 1, the rumour is he was told he would be made an example of. Got to be honest (and I would say this) but with spotters, on an empty road at 4am or whatever I dont really see that as risky, youre only going to slide your car off the road at 40 mph into a field at the end oft he day. As for this one .......... I cant see what he did wrong other than drive too fast, DD when you cant actually see what was in front of him is a pisstake and prosecuting someone on what his passenger is saying is like something out of a comic book. Absolute bullshit. Jetpilot stop looking for an argument with me, its getting old now, No ones looking for an argument, i made a sensible reply to what you posted.

I actually agree with this, but there really arent many Japanese cars with anything but plastic dash's. Maybe is a culture thing, hardly ever see many imports with leather seats and spent over 2 years going to the trade auctions in Southampton, i guess they just dont like it over there. 30 - 45 mins tops, its just bolts and screws.
-
I have a build thread but no build photos as such, i just followed a dash removal guide from somewhere, centre consul out, speedo cluster out, two small plastic trims by a pillars, drop the lower dash panels and your at them. No fading and if there was would just replace, was £70 tops. No blistering but was thorough with the prep, all panels thoroughly cleaned of any silicon dash sprays etc Cant find the place anymore, bought from ebay whilst searching for something else, try self adhesive suede wrap, self adhesive alcantara wrap, something along those lines, you need to search ebay worldwide though as was from china or similar.
-
Not sure you saw much alcantara in the 70's, velour yes, alcantara no It was a wrap so self adhesive, no wrinkling but patience was required as if it folded back onto itself, that was it. Its pretty easy to get those panels out, 30 mins tops and i am sure the airbag would have no issue blowing off a bit of sticky wrap.

Two Britons killed on the Grossglockner Pass, Austria
Jetpilot replied to Bockaaarck's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Just read all the ph posts, obviously there are some bellend comments but also some intelligent responses. There is a link to a video the driver had already posted previously, i didnt want to watch so only echoing the comments, but it does seem the driver was "exuberant" to say the least and comments from in car such as, "this is a very angry car" and how flying off the edge would result in 100% death...... Rip in fellas, it probably could happen to any one of us if luck wasnt on our side. -
Word of caution guys, i was looking at the Ings lip kit on here, advertised as "vendor" Ings+1, they are not, their part numbers seem to be the same as Duraflex/Extreme Dimensions so tread carefully.
-
The above leather is very impressive, seems a shame though to leave those massive slabs of plastic that face you though as you mention I alcantara wrapped them

Just trying to find the mounting thingys, will pm you when i do.

Wow, you must have the patience of a saint to want to stop every 150-200 miles for 30 minute recharge becareful of the hills and cold weather too, you might be stopping for 30 minutes every couple of hours or so

DD and speeding seem to go hand in glove, whilst i agree that sort of driving on public roads is not a good idea, you could not label it any more dangerous driving than some of the idiots i see on the road doing under the speed limit and they will never be prosecuted in the same fashion.

SSR Integral GT1's Rims Only 8" fronts 9" rears I used these as track wheels as they a light wheel, according to wheel weights list, half a kg heavier than respective Rays, but you get an extra half an inch on the rear to run a bigger tyre. Clear the Brembos without the need for spacers, unsure of offset but judging by the way they sit, i would imagine in the 30's. They have been powdercoated in a Anthracite/Shadow Chrome finish, one wheel has some flaking (pictured) on the rim. otherwise all in good condition as seen. £550 delivered
