Well i couldnt resist: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/98287-supercharged-zed/ A time was set with Mr Keyser, a price was agreed in principal and because it wasnt far, i needed to satisfy my curiosity. So off we headed in hissing sid (a treat in itself) so off we went. After a painful journey (traffic) bar one smattering of nice road keenly noted by Mr K we arrived. First impressions of "the beast" (his description not mine), the kit isnt as bad in the flesh, not to my liking, but not bad, apart from the rear spoiler. Onto the business end, well, the charger is as new, the latest V3 sci, its done less than 400 miles since installed and not even the pulleys are marked, its like its fresh out the box, well it is I didnt need to go in it as i wanted Keyser's personal opinion, he arrived back and seemed happy. The owner was a lovely gent, he was 70 years old and had done the work himself, a truly impressive fellow, i hope i have his enthusiasm at 70 I can only think he was a bit out of touch and because of the advert, marketed the car to the wrong audience. I wanted to take the drive back to discuss so i said i would be in touch the next morning. We chatted on the way home and i collected this week. Some details: Vortech V3 Sci Os Giken twin plate clutch and fly Magnaflow exhaust, sports cats and manifolds Vortech piggy back ecu I have loads of receipts, near full main dealer service history and the car overall is in very good condition. Keep posted, but will be returning to near std until i can decide on front bumper etc, but will be transferring some things from my car, suspension, exhaust etc

As its pretty obvious I dont know much about Tesla, do I presume they are currently out sourcing the battery packs and so by producing their own they can cut costs and deliver a cheaper product?
-
Apologies, unit sales compared to company sales.
-
Well, nearly close, Jaguar sold 462,678, so no, they wont be selling more cars than Jaguar

Would love to

Have a look around for some Work Equips, very similar and in sizes to suit a std arch 350 you should be able to get a set for £1500 give or take.

According to your own link, 11 were made There was most likely only one full on converted

Could be one of the 11

Demon tweeks outlet on ebay had some very good deals on dba non brembo discs.

Luk dont do a lightweight fly that I an aware of, Exedy organic would be a good shout though, 3 hours miniumum to do the job. Speak to some traders about parts options pending on driving preference but I would definitely consider a lightweight flywheel.

this has been dicussed Its been skirted around as no one has an answer So where is the electric coming from and how much will it cost, less than a litre of fuel now to comparative mpg? No one has an answer because no one knows. Grid capacity is already a concern for energy companies without EVs. Hence the push for more and more renewable power generation. After all wind/sun is 'free', unlike coal/gas/nuclear power stations which are very expensive to run But is it not a major concern now you are an ev convert? I am in the building industry and know a fair bit about renewables. Wind farms are a different story for me but again quite appropriate for where i live. Navitus Bay want to set up a wind farm off the Dorset coast, the figures are impressive, but guess what, there is massive objection because people dont want their view spoiled, it doesnt bother me one jot, would bring in great revenue for the area and might as well look at some turbines miles in the distance than just horizon. We also have a load of farms who are now building solar farms, solely because of the return they can generate from the buy back scheme, i,e its more profitable than farming. We have at this time no choice but to generate electric from, burning fossil fuels, nuclear and a smattering from the sun/wind (possibly tidal) etc and cant see some new way just appearing from no where. So at the moment we are left with burning fossil fuels/nuclear and crap batteries. I am afraid i cannot see its sustainable. If you think thats narrowed minded or head buried in the sand thats your opinion, but i think there are some rational points to consider. Seeing as your a Tesla fanboi would you know how long the batteries would last if you are driving it to its potential? I.e a track day?

I will leave you to it, as always, your welcome to pm me

I have not been hypocritical, i have always said i dont think ev's are the future (not in out lifetime) and my points are fair (depreciation costs to fuel costs, battery tech, range etc etc), i havent picked on you, i have asked a question that you cant answer, i didnt say your beliefs were priceless, i said your comment of its the next logical step is priceless, its not an answer to anything, just because you believe it, doesnt mean everyone else must. If your going to believe in something so strongly (just like the op) at least be able to debate and answer alternative views without throwing all your toys out the pram because people dont agree Hey, i could just say, "your talking rubbish"

Dunno but i imagine there was person just like you in the 1915 when the idea of oil burning vehicles started coming about said the same thing trying to be clever So how can you be so sure its the future then? Because its the next logical step Priceless come on then Mr know it all what the future then I have no idea, i have never professed i have. I just simply believe at this time, for the many valid reasons presented from lots of people, i am not convinced, whats your problem with that?
