  1. What was your static reading and drive by out of interest? I managed to get on at Thruxton, the strictest in the country, 92 db static with drive bys with hfc's and dual exhaust. I cant believe any Zed should fail unless especially with hfcs unless running a single or k1/buddy club etc.
  2. I wouldnt have suggested that was a loud set up, I know the Cobra back box isnt that big though, same goes for the resonated centre pipe. Personally if it was me i would do another day before making a decision, it may well be just the wind carrying the sound in the wrong direction as mentioned. If it happens again and your close the limit (remembering db works on a weird scale, 3db more could mean its twice as loud) bungs are the easy and quick option for a remedy, if it continues to happen and you keep getting black flagged i would just change the system it will be more cost effective rather than trying to modify and add in silencers.
  3. Nice looking in the photos, or nice when you viewed and test drove?
  4. Quoting myself just in case your confused with my stand point on dyno readings
  5. I am not, as i have said in pretty much every post in this thread and the other, its you who defended bolt on increases and extravagant dyno readings Zippy will be noticing the "bum dyno" effect, there will be zero or a tenth of a tenth of a tenth in it between a mapped 350, std 350 and one with bolt ons.
  6. Which is exactly what i said on the dyno run thread, but you seemed to think the numbers accurate, i quote "he wouldnt be in business long if his readings were that far out", well he was only 50% wrong on the increase from Horshams dyno So you honestly think 25hp at best will transform a 1.5 tonne car, night and day as Zippy says, sorry, thats utter tosh, the biggest single factor will be the removal of the throttle restrictions in the first couple of gears The op wants to know what hp gain he will get, so after the many many many discussed threads, pay zero attention to hp from a dyno, or as said he could be a very unhappy bunny, just appreciate the better drive (bum dyno)
  7. Dyno figures are good for nothing more than pub talk, as discussed many many times, as per zippy, dyno run after his bolt ons, 295, first run on Horsham dyno before mapping, 285, final figure of 301. So make of that what you will, did he gain 6 or 16hp, zippy says his car is transformed, do you really think 6 or 16hp will transform a car? The biggest differece you will notice is removal of the throttle restrictions, just forget your bhp pub banter or you will be one very pi@@ed of zedder.
  8. Skylines are no more reliable than 350's, I do like an r32 though, but, only the full fat gtr and even then I wouldnt want one over a 350 if Europe road trips are on the menu. Only reason being, they are old and will feel very basic in comparison. Only you can decide.
  9. Anyone at Silverstone next Wednesday, have a few mate going in some nice exotica, i would be joining them but the car is in for a wrap
  10. So long as you dont wear your baseball cap at a jaunty angle you will be fine, innit
  11. Could it be the catalyst for other countries to have referendums, i am thinking it might. Thanks for your views.
  12. So why do you think they are so keen for us to stay if its us who will loose out in the long run, as per bmw emailing their staff asking us to stay and the French making threats, yes i am kind of playing devils advocate, but appreciate your views
  13. So you dont think leaving will affect Europe at all?
  14. So what are the implications for Europe if we leave? Where will they find the missing £30 million a day etc
  15. It was a great car, but one that needed tlc, in its state of tune it way never going to be something you could just jump in and rag on a daily basis and then handed to a local garage to take care of, which is kind of the impression I got of it post Keysey ownership and not sure we will ever get the full debrief or the bigger picture. I saw so many Rx7's go this route during my days of ownership, great cars reduced to a sum of parts as new owners treated them like a diesel rep mobile and then were surprised they gave up the ghost. Eyes wide open for anyone tempted, it may not be the cash cow of parts it looks and to get it back to its former glory, will probably cost a small fortune.
  16. I have to be honest, if you can afford a 360, cost to buy, maintain, insure is immaterial. Value for money might make the 350 a great purchase but it is in no shape or form as good a drive and yes, i have driven one.

    I need boost

Anyone buying with the intention of putting back to its former glory needs to go into it with their eyes well and truly open, could be a bargain, but may be a complete money pit especially if your paying someone to do the work.

  19. If you contact Mcguard direct and send them a photo, they will send you the right replacement, i did this and received the right key, 3 days later

  21. A Clio on the right track is a pretty fast tool
  22. You could definitely find one for 5k, but there are many things to consider besides the engine, £400+ for tyres, £500+ for brakes, £800 clutch, all consumables so be aware of general costs to keep one on the road. The engines are pretty bombproof but as with anything it all depends how it has been cared for.

Unless yours if very individual, bodykit etc i would sell it and buy one done. I havent seen a sc kit 2nd hand for a while now but have seen a few boosted for sale.
