  1. Yes - very lucky as it was pretty quiet at the time with no other cars around me and only doing around 45-50 mph.
  2. Braking hard this morning as traffic lights went to amber, the brakes brought the car to a halt but then the pedal went straight to the floor with no resistance whatsoever. Got the Zed recovered to my usual dealer who said that the brake pipe/hose had split near to the fuel tank. To replace it would mean the fuel tank coming out etc. etc. so not a small job.- but it's going to take around a month to get hold of a new pipe as they are not readily available and they don't like to manufacture their own replacements. Zed is currently VOR and waiting for the parts. Do I have any alternatives for sourcing a new brake pipe? Thanks. (04 plate GT)
  3. Is the banana arm the same as the suspension arm? I had a similar problem here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/68596-clunking-on-passenger-front-wheel/#entry1021536
  4. Felt the same for my last MOT Tech said it didn't feel like a 10 year old car; usually there was something broken or missing
  5. Is this the same as a tin sump? My tin sump was replaced a few services ago after the tech spotted it was corroded.
  6. Good to hear that you'll still be in a Zed when this is all over
  7. Same here for 10 years - no problems whatsoever.
  8. So sad to hear this - even more so because its not your fault. Best wishes for a happy outcome
  9. For years I've been in the habit of assuming that the driver behind isn't paying attention so I tend to tap the brakes a few times first before I have to pull up quickly.
  10. Glad you've got your Zed back - enjoy I've found that in my 10 years of Zed ownership that there are short periods when I need to spend a lot of money - and long periods when I don't. I tend to remember the long periods - and just enjoy the car.
  11. Mine is usually around 24mpg but that's mostly weekend driving now (I don't use it as a daily commute anymore). However I did a recent 500 mile round trip Manchester/Devon: average speed of 41 mph at 36 mpg - not bad for a 10 year old Zed
  12. Thanks. In the flesh the colour is more sort of graphite rather than silver (went to see it today) Bit suspicious that its a 2009 plate with only 13k on the clock after 5 years and with 2 owners - my spider-sense is tingling
  13. http://www.greenwing...heshire-3923061 370Z V6 GT Ultimate Coupe - Sliver - 2009 - 13k miles - 2 owners - FNSH I could be interested
  14. V. Nice. Prepare to be assimilated into the world of Zed.
  15. +1 I've started to keep a spreadsheet of oil added/mileage - may be worth a try before panicking too much.
  16. What does a plenum spacer do?
  17. I apologise for the dumb question as I've only recently realized what spacers are. Why do people fit spacers?
  18. Thanks all. No smells around the engine bay - I'll check around the filler cap after the next outing. TT.
  19. I've recently become aware that I no longer get the hiss when I go to re-fuel - anyone have any ideas why this might be? The only thing I've done differently recently is a 500 mile round trip, part of which was down some un-maintained country lanes (the kind where grass grows in the middle) with some deep ruts so there was lots of scraping and noise. I checked the Zed over and there doesn't seem to be any leakages. Could driving down those lanes have cuased any damage to the underside that would affect fuel lines etc? Thanks for any advice. TT.
