  1. Apologies, my attempt at schoolboy humour missed the mark. I'll do better next time.
  2. It is indeed a cool idea. Which people entered Lexx? And why did he insist they do that, before the competition could run?
  3. I really like that interior, perhaps the rim of the steering wheel in black leather might just break it up a little - but that's being fussy. I've broswed a few porkers on autotrader and loads have a really nasty grey leather, which you'd think sounds classy but just looks rubs IMHI. Cinnamon FTW!
  4. Let's see some pics of the inside of the fuel filler flap
  5. It's our 1 year anniversary on Tuesday so I thought I best make an effort. The Shark is booked in for a surprise trip to the bodyshop for spats and a spoiler next week, which finishes my exterior plans nicely around the year mark. Next on the list is the bay, weapon-r are going to be blinging that up in the near future (courtesy of Tarmac). Just so she had something for the day, I popped in a Nismo oil filler cap, having marked the plastic OEM one during a disagreement topping up the oil a few weeks back. One year in, I'm still just as excited to drive the Zed, even if it's just to work. I must admit to having a wandering eye in the last few months, with the 370 and a Cayman S both catching my eye. If I had one little tiny nag, it's the absence of rear seats. It's rarely an issue, but there's been a couple of times I've thought it'd be useful to have two more little seats back there, even if they weren't practically sized, they'd be handy for short trips. This has lead me to start cruising autotrader for V8 Mustangs of late... Once I tart up the bay, I think there's an exhaust waiting to go on somewhere and possibly an ARB kit. My dream is to do something with the interior plastics, particularly the centre console, but not found anything that catches my eye yet. Once they're done I'll finally be cured of Zeditis... ... except maybe a bulge bonnet, then a wrap in something outrageous, maybe wheels once day.
  6. Just a little update on the endurance of the AMMO products I tried about a month ago now. In between I've done about 500 miles, including a monster trip to Birmingham and back yesterday, where it rained every single mile. I did do a quick petrol station pressure wash about a fortnight ago, but other than that it's not been touched for a month due to the incessant rain Anyway, as you can see the typical streaks around the arches and down the rear bumper are present. I wasn't especially impressed by the products ability to repel road grime, but having said that, my Zed lives outside all the time, near the coast and the weather has been dog***t recently, with quite a lot of particles whipped up into the rain that's fallen. However, I was considerably more impressed after a snow foam and pressure wash rinse. Totally touchless wash at this point. Especially just behind the front wheels which just gathers up muck for fun. Unlike the first wash I did with the AMMO goodies I gave the Hydrate a go this time. I'd used it once before and been quite disappointed in all honesty, it made the drying process a bit messy and I couldn't really see the benefit. However, this time I put my Dodo drying towel to one side and did the dry just with decent quality microfibre towels. The AMMO Hydrate was now much more pleasant to work with and instantly added a layer of gloss. I just need to remember to use MFs for drying next time if I use the hydrate. My paint has many swirls so I couldn't possibly tell if the Hydrate delivers on it's goal of protecting paint from defects during the drying process, but it does leave a pleasing finish. After a three bucket wash she looked tip top and I could easily have just finished off with a Red Mist QED. Instead I added another layer of AMMO Skin Defense (they say to layer it up, so I did), then a layer of ArmourAll Shield (could be the easiest product to use ever! very curious as to it's efficacy having read good reports on here and this being my first use), then a Red Mist QED just to finish (another first use for me). All in all, although I'd hoped for more dirt repelling properties from the AMMO products, I was really pleased with their protection levels, under the filth, as the grime fairly flew off when I pointed the Karcher at it. I'd definitely re-order the Skin Defense, the Hydrate and the Plum Wheel cleaner, the Spit Shine probably isn't for me. The wheel brushes are simply perfect for the job.
  7. She's such a beauty, it's hard to imagine the spark disappearing. Great Zed!
  8. It's clever how evolution finds new ways of working isn't it. In the past a human might have been eliminated from the gene pool for not being a good hunter, so unable to feed, or perhaps because they were too slow at running, so eaten by some wild beast. Slowly improving the stock we've come from. Now that we have microwaves and hand tools, you're unlikely to be unable to feed yourself or be eaten by a predator, but nature still finds a way. Namely, it fires up a few decent sized waves and stupid people are lured in to have a closer look, it then drops in two or three mega waves and tries to drown them. Nature in action, smarter than some people think.
  9. IIRC it came with a few different sized rubber bits that you can insert in the ball (ooh err ) once you picked the nearest sized one. Then jam it in the ball recess and screw it on. Mine's been on a few months now, spirited drives included, rock solid. A few places do them, so google around. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/gear-knobs Just be careful to use some mole grips on the stick when you try and unscrew/screw your knob, you really don't want to twist it hard and risk damage. There's a guide or two if you have a little look around. I'm sure one or more of the traders on here can help, think I got my first one from Steve @ Redline. Also, if memory serves, someone even manufactures their own with cool Zed related etchings.
  10. I've tried a couple. EVO-R Burnt Titanium Currently rocking this Momo offering.
  11. I'll sit quietly in the corner :shameoverload:
  12. Wax/rainx the window and you won't need a rear wiper Don't go backwards, problem solved! If you must go backwards, get a reverse cam in! Guess my 5 minute photoshop wasn't good enough
  13. I was so close to getting one before the Zed, had the cash ready but got scared off by mates. Don't get me wrong, I don't think I made the wrong choice as I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the lazy, shiftless, on-demand torque of the Zed, (not available in the RX8 I believe Dan?), but I really enjoy the styling (doors) on them. I think it's a good job I got scared before I test drove it from your review above. What was the interior like? Bit shiny? Could the rear take two humans, or is it hobbit space only?
  14. Free mod that makes it look and drive better, perfect!
  15. Dying battery making electrics go bananas?
  16. Nice shot mate! Pop that rear wiper off and she'd be perfect.
  17. Don't sweat that, exact same advisory on mine when I bought her. As above!
  18. I think you can download a 30-day free trial of Corel Draw. So if anyone reads this in future you can dive in and fix graphics for free. I needed it recently to make and icon with transparencies. Easy to use. http://www.corel.com/corel/category.jsp?cat=cat3950067&rootCat=cat3600073
  19. Not sure I want to know the answer but what's that you're holding, poking out your flies?
  20. Definitely true and agree with that. Bought my Mrs a half price card & single Rose from a petrol station ~ classy. Are they for sale? I assumed they were where people take garden refuse for composting.
  21. Got her a Nismo oil filler cap as the one she's wearing now is marked. WeaponR PAS and coolant overflow tanks ordered for her too. You can't say I don't know how to look after my baby.
  22. So of all the posts from those who "didn't buy the car for the way it looks", no one has done any styling mods? Not even a stubby or a little lip, maybe some clear or smoked reflectors, fluffy dice...
