BGW set to 20. I've done every mod, except the NOS, SC and the custom box and suspension. Might try and stiffen up the LSD now she behaves a bit better - there's always a second out there
-
I'll try the softer suspension, see if there's some time there. I've not found it too skittish though, as long as you give the vicious kerbs son room! I find the softer suspension better on the 'ring. The 350 is razor sharp on GT6. Really responsive handling which I find a bit too much on the ring so I dull it down a bit. But that's just me TOP TIP   It's so much more forgiving! The first lap I was 10 seconds down and not convinced, but then I started attacking the kerbs and ripped out a 6:47.454 I don't really like the way it now takes off over crests though

Anyone got any motoring ones? I listen to the AMMO NYC podcast, which is massively geeky detailing stuff. For footy fans give "The Warm Up" a listen. If like me you enjoyed Johnny Vaughan on The Big Breakfast (or Movie Watch, back in the day) it's great, not much footy but quite funny. If you don't like JV it's definitely not for you.

DBA Discs & Ferodo DS2500 Pads Review (road and track)
Stutopia replied to alexwitham's topic in Brakes
Just wanted to echo some of the OP's points. I already ran DS2500 pads, braided lines and RBF 600, so the real change for me was to the DBA T2s from what I think we're the PO's OEM discs. This combo of pad, lines, discs and fluid has been a great real world driving experience the first 500+ miles, including my first spin round the Evo Triangle. I have a bit of squeal at low speeds also (which disappeared last time I had these pads fitted), the braking is very progressive, which at first was about weird but, once I settled into them, provides a good deal of control and ultimately stopping power if you really get on them. Great for fast road, not tracked them yet but have no reason to believe they won't be an improvement over my last track day on the old setup. Thanks to Clark Motorsport for supplying them PS - not a big consideration for brakes I know, but the discs look much better (particularly the painted hats) than before -
It was all going so well until those high speed corners. Oh and I set my LSD to the same set up as you mentioned you had on the previous page & I think it's actually made the car better. I find it's much less prone to spitting me out of a corner backwards like that. Took a LOT of goes to get it so I was happy!

Know what you mean. I find I usually lose it in the first 2 minutes, or I finish. I hate the first third of the circuit

Great work, cool setup -

Either of you two let your husbands have a go yet?

Don't oil vapours condense on the baffles (or stainless steel wool) and then drip to the bottom of the can? If it's not that, then I'm genuinely baffled

Hello & Help with P Code Problem
Stutopia replied to A.Collins's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Something else that occurs is that if the PO has put on Berks and an Invidia exhaust (perhaps there's even a plenum spacer in there?) then they may well have already had an uprev. If that's the case, and I understand correctly, they have paid for the uprev license, so if you found out which of the tuners had done it. They could confirm and you'd be able to get it remapped, disable the sensors and not have to soak up the cost of the licence. It's a long shot, but it might save you and the customer a few quid. The list of Uprev tuners is quite short IIRC, Abbey, Horsham Developments, TDI North, RS Tuning. You could ring round and ask if they've upreved it? -
That's pretty strong for first one, I was up at 7:08

Halfords just screwed my car? (spark plug issue)

Halfords b@st@rds, take them for every penny! -
Surely the only age factor in buying an Alfa is, are you too old to push it home once a week?

Diff set to 10 20 25 Next lap had 2 seconds off at half way. Then a barrier happened UPDATE - 6:51.662 UPDATE - 6:49.778 UPDATE - 6:49.712 There's maybe another two seconds in there, missed an apex by a mile and tiptoed round the carousel as I was on a flyer and it ALWAYS tries to oversteer me into the barrier.

Hello & Help with P Code Problem
Stutopia replied to A.Collins's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Mine chucked a CEL when the Berks went on, the extenders did not resolve it for me, I believe it has for others. At something like £12 I think they're definitely worth a shot. Got mine from Clark Motorsport on here, so you can shoot them a PM. They're always happy to help. Ultimately, an Uprev "cured" the CEL for me - when I say cured, I mean the sensors were disabled. I think GM also cured the issue the same way. I can't imagine you want to fork out for an Uprev though. Best bet is to try the extenders first and then failing that, get a cheap OBD2 code reader and just check it if it pops up, clear it, then lather rinse repeat as needed. Happy to SC, just thought we were going NA. I've got one in the pit lane, so they can pop it on in 2 ticks.

Got to give the real Zed a wash today so I'll be back in a couple of hours.

Ok it's late and I've waited almost 3hrs whilst GT6 downloaded the updates & installed them all as I haven't played it in so long but I thought I'd have a go at this for a laugh. Fairlady Z version S (Z33) '07 ~ fully NA tuned, no custom gearbox or suspension, custom LSD (although haven't adjusted it) with racing soft rubber tyres. Hopefully the same set up as Stu for a level playing field (no weight reduction although I have changed the clutch/flywheel). 1st attempt: 7:20:530 2nd attempt: 7:13:362 I blame the tyres as they were obviously not MPSS. I've maxed everything apart from the Supercharger and NOS (and the custom stuff above) including Stage 3 weight reduction. Have you added a BGW too? I think once you do those you'll easily be sniffing around 7 mins. I have TCS and ABS on 1 also.
-
Right then, did a few sighters just now: 2007 350Z, fully NA tuned, no customisable gearbox or suspension, customisable LSD, racing soft rubber 7:00:658 I will break 7 mins tomorrow!

Like it. NOS?

I quit! I don't understand you anymore! Wtf Punctuation is important. That's like a text message from Yoda

And if you don't have a DA? Can this be done by hand? Find a second hand DA, it'll surely save you ages and you'll be set up for future detailing!
