    The long wait

Welcome, hope you get as much enjoyment out of driving your roadster as I have mine. Love every minute of it! Hopefully there will be some clear, crisp autumnal mornings to go for a great drive and enjoy that superb Zed performance and exhaust note. Top down, of course!! Be careful though, you may get Zeditist!
  3. A really hard choice, both are excellent cars! Pro's for the Honda, great handling, legendary Honda build quality and reliability. Con's for the Honda, you have to really rev the engine to get the performance, high insurance cost. Pro's for the Zed, great handling, effortless performance, huge power response whatever gear your in. Simple, straightforward engineering. Easy to service.Great V6 exhaust note. Con's for the Zed, lesser build quality, not all Nissan dealers seem to be able to look after Zeds. But great network of dedicated specialist independents! Having owned a S2000, and now running an Accord 2.4 executive, as my daily drive, so my loyalty to Honda's reliability and build quality still remain. my hobby car is a 350Z, and I love every minute of driving it! As others have said, it depends on your personal driving style, fast and furious, max revs, the Honda, effortless power, easy to maintain, straightforward engineering, and a fantastic V6 engine and exhaust note, the Zed. As an added bonus, a great, friendly and supportive owners club and forum with knowledge members and expert, specialist traders who advise on problems and provide quality service, the Zed edges ahead. Whatever you decide, enjoy your driving!
  4. Hi, I’ll be taking my Zed in for a wheel alignment check soon. I’ve seen some posts that refer to an increase in toe in from the Nissan standard, as it improves handling. Can anyone please advise what the increased toe in should be?

    Shameless Plug

Thanks for the tip Dave, I'll take my Zed along there.
  6. Had my Zed for nearly a year now and loved every minute of driving it! Just had it serviced, decided to replace coolant, plugs. gearbox and diff oils, and also replace corroded OEM exhaust with a Milltek. Took it out for it's first long drive since the service. Amazing! Handles and responds like new!! Still smiling now even though the drives over!!!
  7. Hi Jez. I need to change my Brembo brake pads and discs on my June 2005 Nissan 350Z roadster. I would like to take the opportunity to upgrade the brakes at the same time. Could you please advise your best prices for:- DBA T4 4000 Series Front and Rear Brake Discs Ferodo DS2500 Front and Rear Brake Pads Hel Brake Lines (Transparent) Brake Fluid If you consider I need any other consumable items to undertake this work, e.g. replacement nuts, bolts etc then please include them. Thank you and regards, Neal Ridley aka Ridz
  8. Check that the hood operates fully and smoothly. Also carefully check the hood fabric for signs of wear. I hope your purchase goes ahead, I've loved every minute of driving my Zed.
  9. Most electronic keys require the battery to be changed very quickly, usually under 2 or 3 minutes, or they lose the code settings
  10. Agree with the last post. I've just used paints4u to get some touch up paint for my silver Zed. Great paint match and very prompt service.
  11. As an ex pat Geordie, now living in Manchester, I used the local Wheelspecialist to refurb the alloys on my Honda Accord, over 12 months ago and they still look great! Good same day service. My 2006 Zed roadster, with original Rays, needs a wheel refurb, needless to say, I'll be asking wheelspecialist for a quote!
  12. Love the look of the lip. Not too obvious. Please tell us where you got it and how it's fitted.
  13. I've used the Comma A/C Cleaner Bomb on previous cars and it's a good product.
  14. I live quite near Quarry Bank Mill and have visited several times. Whilst it is very picturesque and well worth a visit, it's not suitable for Zed photos as no vehicles are allowed onto the mill site. The car park is located at the side of the valley and you have to walk down into the valley to visit the mill.

    New Boots

I haven't had my Zed too long and its's got some relatively new Avon ZZ3's on the rears The fronts are the OEM Bridgestones which will need replacing very soon. Having seen all the references that it is not preferable to mix tyres, I've been thinking of getting ZZ3's on the front. I would like to know your opinion of them, could you please keep us updated
  16. I can recoomend the Wheel Specialists in Manchester. They do a same day service, shot blast the wheels back to base metal, refurb the wheel including any rim damage, and powder coat in most standard colours, revalve the tyres and rebalance. They are not cheap but do offer a good service at reasonable cost. Got my Honda Accord done there last year with no problems and the wheels still look like new. My Zed wheels are in similar condition to yours and I intend to get them done later this year. Needless to say, I'll be asking the Wheel Specialists, Manchester for a quote!!
  17. ZmanAlex has supplied mine. Good quality with great service!
  18. I regularly use a cover on my roadster, with no problems. It is best to get a 3 layer, breathable type, with a very soft inner layer which won't scratch the body work. The cover should be breathable, to prevent condensation onto the body work. The cover should also have strong elasticated edging to ensure a good fit and prevent it lifting in windy weather. Most covers come with additional under the car straps to secure it. I'll check to see which website I got mine from.
  19. Canal side warehousing could be a good choice or some of the old cotton mills
  20. The roadster every time!! The 350z was originall designed as a roadster I believe, especially for the USA California market, hence thr reference to the golf clubs stowage instructions on the boot lid. I've had mine nearly a year now and every time I drive it I have the roof down. Great exhaust note and the roadsters are quite rare. Check the hood is in good condition as it is very expensive to replace. Nissan recommend that the hood shouldn't be retracted when the temperature is below 5 deg C, as it can stick. Otherwise no problems. Whether you get the roadster or the coupe, you'll enjoy every minute driving it! Good luck with your purchase, whatever you decide.
  21. Probably a loose baffle
  22. I've also used the wheel specialist, who did a great job on some corroded alloys, repaired minor kerb damage. All wheels came up like new. Same day service too! The Rays on my Zed are showing minor bubbling, so I'll be visiting my local wheel specialist again.
  23. Nice spoiler, suits the car well. Could you please confirm make, Cobra? supplier and how it is fitted.
  24. Boscvh Aerotwins are the ones to go for! Bosch part nos are:- Driver AR20 U Passenger AR18 U Best wipers in Autocar tests! Buy online for the best prices. Ridz
  25. I agree with the general forum consensus .I used to use a chamois leather, now use microfibres. Much kinder to the Zed! .
