  1. Huge thanks for the information! (from here and several other forums with technical info). I can certainly say I'm tempted now.
  2. Many thanks Jerrick, I sent a PM regarding the GT1's. I guess my biggest concern regarding any coilover at this moment is how they'll be responding with the SPL bushings. As I know it's these that are responding to the high frequency "harshness" (for lack of better terms), once you get going they are fine and you confident with the B6's but the lack of adjustment after chasing sharper steering has led me here
  3. Many many thanks for the post Jerrick it's much appreciated ! The fact they are custom built is certainly intriguing, in what way is this achieved, what kind of details would you require ? Also I'm curious as to build time on something like this? Lastly for this kind of price for suspension I'm looking at putting down a deposit and financing it (I wish a few traders did this, well sort of heh), I know previously from an old thread you had offered this but is that still an option ?
  4. Awesome work ! (although that last photo looks VERY wrong ) I hit my 3 targets this year (just in time!). 150kg Squat (did 3 reps in the end) 100kg Bench (7 reps, got a torn rotator cuff, have to be careful) 200kg Deadlift (it wasn't pretty but did it this week) & I'm probably about 300% bodyfat
  5. Google it but here's another thread anyway: http://my350z.com/forum/maintenance-and-repair/337907-squeaky-clutch-on-pedal-depress-sounds-from-under-the-car.html
  6. I use my car mostly for fun, no commuting and hopefully in the new year a few track days thrown in (4-6). Currently it's on Bilstein B6, Tein springs, Eibach ARB, adjustable droplinks, and SPL spherical bushings front and rear, camber arms etc etc. The only issue I'm finding now is that under 40mph the ride is quite crashy on the road due to the SPL bushings (not the Bilsteins), as I had poly before that so I noticed quite a change. Obviously the trade off is far nicer steering and control but it does make you wince sometimes As much as I'd like to just blast around everywhere...well I can't. But when you are pressing on it feels good. So I had the stupid idea of perhaps getting a set of KW V3's as I'm sure that this'll bring even more control and better ride quality. Although I'm not entirely sure about how it'll feel with the spherical bushings but I know it'll be ace for the track I haven't seen that many people here put the SPL bushings on their cars that aren't just out and out track toys. But if you are one of those guys that have done this I'd like to hear any feedback regarding spherical bushing and coilover combo
  7. I've ordered another coil pack to replace the other higher resistance pack, as I'm not sure if they are both the cause or not.

  9. These are the Ohm readings I got set to 2k: Ohm 2k New coil = 158 Cylinder 5: Rear driver = 147 Cylinder 3: Mid driver = 153 Cylinder 1: Front driver = 164 Cylinder 6: Rear passenger = 164 Cylinder 4: Mid passenger = 153 Cylinder 2: Front passenger = 152 I'm not sure what the numbers really mean but could that be the problem?
  10. Search youtube, loads of vids.
  11. Yep it's definitely lower than by using the prop stick thingy. I'll definitely measure it up by the end of the week !
  12. I nipped up the bolts, I hate doing that as the small torque wrench I have for it doesn't click like normal ones. I've ordered a new coil pack, just to see if one of them is slightly duff (I'll swap it out on each one to see if it improves). I thought my idle from post #7 does sound quite similar to this guys one:
  13. It's alright I work on it in a heated garage (with a ramp!) Sympathy for the chap that got stiffed
  14. Home tuition perhaps. I can't blame her regarding the politics inside the school itself and the BS from the gov. (well that's my interp)
  15. I appreciate the simple answer, and have done it before but not always the easiest thing to do alone, and pretty tedious if I'm farting around every week or so.
  16. I've got a set of bonnet dampers on my car, nothing wrong with them for displaying your engine bay if you're into that - but I'm not, I need a set so I can work on the car, thus a higher lift than I have. I'll try and get a measurement tonight for a point of reference. Does anyone know which brand I should check out ?

    C6 Corvette

Really good car (imho), easy to get parts for, drives nicely and with a few choice upgrades = lovely jubbly The LHD thing doesn't take long to get used to either.
  18. Ok, I'll just use the small one on the passenger side, and the large baffled one on the drivers side. Cheers.
  19. (note - NA car) I've got one small, sealed oil catch can on my 04 car, which is connected the usual way on the drivers side, it hasn't actually caught that much, thus I want to add the other one just-in-case. It's hooked up like this image: However, I want to add a 2nd one to the other side. Is the PCV (out) on the back of the passenger side rocker cover ? And where would the out of the OCC go to, the intake tube ? (I'm just looking at the FSM pdf, EM-42).
  20. Looks like your car is in need of some tins of POR15 !
  21. Crikey ! Yeah I'll have access to my tools next week, so I'll certainly try that first. I'll also see if I can replicate the error whilst driving too.
  22. Cheers, yep I had marked down the service manual suggestions. This hopefully shows the hiss sound: I've sprayed carb cleaner around the intake but no fluctuations in idle. The resistance of the coil packs was pretty much the same for all of them. I don't have all of my tools here today so what I can check is very limited.
  23. This is the car idling: When I rev the car it sounds like there is a slight vacuum leak as well, I'll upload another video for that a bit later.
  24. Technically I did (I guess). I did 2 laps, saw the error, cleared the code, went back out saw the error and checked it this time. I think I left a little bit more that I usually do in the oil bottle. (was just looking from what others have said)
  25. Bone dry, and around 6 deg. But one thing I'm just thinking here... The weekend before last, I changed gearbox\diff\engine oil. I'm just wondering if I needed to pop a bit more oil in the engine. As I mentioned, I wasn't going fast at all - honestly ! (my first time on track with the Z, and just getting used to it) I guess I'll know a bit more tomorrow, I've seen what the service manual describes as the potential issues. I just thought it was odd that it happened on track, the car felt and sounded normal to me.
