I just gotta say you've done a terrific job on it. I saw one years ago fitted to a white S14 import. That looked really trick to but was mounted on the tiniest of stalks. Some fleabag would've had that out in microseconds. At least yours looks like its been factory fitted and the fit looks solid. Well done again, I bet you get inundated with offers of builds after this. SAM

There are two ways of going about this, one is to dry the moisture in the car, the second curing the possible leak. First go down to Wilkinson and buy yourself a 1kg container of KILROCK which is an industrial strentgh Silica Gell. Pour some of this into baking trays ,mugs any containers you can find. Place 7 or8 around the car, one in each footwell, two on the dashboard and a couple on the boot . Check in the morning and you'll be left with a watery sludgr or just water where its absorbed the moisture. The second one is to run either lard or butter around the door seal and open and close the door a few times. Where the frame has no lard/butter is where you're getting an ingress of water, all you might need to do is to move he door a couple of millimetres to cure it & save your hard earned. Good luck.

I pretty much follow Will370Z when he says he keeps it switched on when on the road but on an old airfield, off it comes, especially when the track is damp. Its amazing what you can do with 2 or 3 cones with regard to improving your driving skills,. There are few better feelings than powering out of a long fast corner sidewards and in complete control. A group of us give the old security guard a tenner each, so everyones a winner, the guard gets an extra £80 for a saturday and sunday afternoon and we get a plod free weekend of improving our skills and keeping tyre companys in business. And when i get Prof Perrinns little trick wired and switched in then more fun should be had.

Surprised more people haven't tried this. Really improved my Z

Hey there Prof Perrin, i really reckon you've hit on something here and for those doing a bit of ****-taking, well the less said the better. When you have the proprietor of one of the most respected tuning houses in the country pretty much agreeing with you and explaining why it did this a round of applause ,a pat on the back & i'll buy you a beer if we link up at a show. I am going to use the dummy switch next to the two heated front seat switches to do as suggested and mount a seperate rocker switch specifically for this job. -
I totally agree with you NeilMH, an afternoon spent sideways around an airfield would be well worth £25. I'd come down and collect them tomorrow different names on each axle wouldn't have me in tears on such an occaision but i wouldn't try the same thing on a circuit (if i got past scrutineering), Trouble is mate it'd cost me over £50-00 to get down to you and back so unfortunately i'm going to have to pass on this sale of the month. I can't believe no-one has snapped your hand off. NOdoubt someone will awake from their dreams soon

Help i wonder if anyone is able to help me remove small scratches made by a puppy (no more than a couple of months old) on the passenger side seat pad of my Zed. The scratches on the black leather are not really deep but you can now see the orange colour underneath (the same colour as the orange stitching on the side of the seat. The scratches cover an area approx 3 inches square and so far i've just tried black boot polish (crap) I'm thinking of trying black dye this weekend but if anyone has any better and more permanent ideas i'm open to suggestion. Trying to patch it would need to be done professionally as the scratches go over the perforations in the leather and i do not have the skills for that. Any ideas gratefully accepted. Thanx in advance. SAM

That is pretty cheap, especially as all the majors raised their policies by an average 40% within the last year. Their are old guys (my stepdad) who learnt to drive with Fred Flintstone & Barney Rubble. He pays just under £175 on a brand new Fiesta. THe insurance industry is no longer run amongst itselfs, a lot have been bought out by venture capitalists to be run on a profit, sod the cost, The days of staying loyal to a company are long gone. You really have to shop around now. It's a totally different world than 5 years ago. SAM

LEATHER REPAIR. Hi i wonder if anyone can help me with a leather repair the damaged caused by a 4 month old Patterdale puppy. Its a 3" sort of square where the paws have scratched through the black and now shows the orange colour, same as the thread for stitching. The damaged leather is the perforated part so a patch is out of the question. Is there a hardy hard wearing dye on the market that anyone has tried before with any success. i tried boot polish to no avail. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks, SAM

Does your dogs need training? FREE

On a totally unrelated dog point, akthough it is related because the dog did it does anyone have any ideas as to how i can get paw scratches out of the passenger seat of my Zed? She's only a littltle Patterdale so the scratches aren't massive but have gone through the top layer of the black leaving the colour of the orange stitching underneath I tried boot polish to no avail? Would going over the lines with black leather dye be better? Any ideas really welcome cos all i can see out of the corner of my eye is this bloogy patch of scratches and i'd love to get them repaired. Thanks for any replies. SAM -
Aahh Paul, i keep looking at it and can imagine it fitted to my car making it sounding a lot less like a Massey Ferguson and more like it was designed to. I just have a couple of hiccups to deal with;1) Christmas is comin & the goose ain't getting fat ;2) It'd cost me the best part of a ton in fuel to get to you a three quarters of the way back. Can you pm me with your best offer & i'll go out and start mugging all of the drug dealers in the area (i take no responsibility for any drug dealers who wake up with sore heads over the next few days). Regards SAM

ooppss didn't look far enough down your list, just saw the decats & thought wow, someone's manufacturing the shortest system in history. Its a tidy looking system, what with Chrimbo coming up its a tad out of my price range at present. Thanks for the message, SAM

I think nothing looks beter than a 350Z without badges, not that i'm embarassed about Nissan badges i just love the look of curiosity of kids/men walking past trying to figure out just what car it is.

WOW ! a straight jacket and sectioning to the nearest mental health facility me thinks. I've never seen anyone or any Zed for that matter with 'flames on the exhaust tips, Give the man a dose of Lithium.

The tyre industry suggests that once the ambient temperature drops below 7 degrees celcius then its time to fit winter tyres (sales ploy?). I fitted some Kleber 'Quadraxer' to my girlfriends Fiesta and i must adnit the difference was noticeable. Admittedly these are budget winter tyres but stopping distances were reduced by approx a third and whereas a hill leading to the house had the Fiesta stumped in a light dusting of snow, last year the car sailed up it no problem. If you can afford them i'd invest in a set, you WILL notice the difference. But as Spurs Mad Dave suggests its the pillocks in other vehicles you've got to watch out for.

What's more refined than turning up in a VXR with a couple of tinnies of Fosters in your hand. LoL

Do you like it for the pose value or that your driving skills are too good for the 350.

If i'm driving in a built up area or amongst traffic i drive with it on. If i'm driving round a nice quiet industrial estate or track i drive with it off. I've had rear wheel drive cars for years now my last two being tuned 200sxS14's and much prefer them to front wheel drive cars, i find them a lot more fun. The ESP is automatically on when you start the car. you have to physically switch it off. If you switch it off when driving and don't/forget to switch it on again, the next time you start the car it will be switched on and if you want it off you'll have to switch it off again.

Hey, FUG, seems easy enough, thanks for that. Good luck nwith the sale of your phone.
-
hey FUG, a totally unrelated question, but did you have your 9800 connected to the bluetooth adapter on your Zed. The reason i ask is that i have a 9800 and i'm after the bluetooth adapter for my Zed and wondered if it was easy to connect? Good luck selling your 9800, with all of the additions its very reasonably priced.

Wow what a comprehensive guide Steve, i own an '04 and although i've yet to encounter this problem its great to have the knowledge to be able to fix it rather than hand over my hard earned to a workshop and run the risk of 'well it took us four hours to find the fault sir'. A brilliant job well done.

i don't know if i did this correctly but my window worked fine for a couple of weeks and then started to work lntermittently again. i ended up getting a new motor and since then have had no more problems. i guess i was lucky as my car had a three month warranty on it so it didn't cost me anything in the long run. I've noticed that the new motor winds the window down a lot quicker than the passenger side so it looks like i'll be attempting this repair on the passenger side soon. Here's hoping i do a better job as my warranty no longer valid. A brilliant guide by the way
