  1. Buy a 1kg tub of Kilrock, sprinkle some in a container and place anywhere in the car and it'll suck any moisture out of your car overnight, The container in the morning will be full of water, its the best stuff i've used by far. I got mine from Wilco, can't remember how much it was but it wasn't expensive and it'll last for ages. Problem solved.
  2. Autosol to remove the dullness + Megs for a beautiful shine
  3. Hello and thank you to Mr Steve 3000. I've started to suffer the same screaching belt syndrome now the damp mornings have arrived and being a bit of a newbie to the 350Z was curious as to the correct way of tightening the belts. Fantastic pictorial. Thanks again. SAM.
  4. Apologies for the very belated update, found the link to the pedal dance and made notes and perhaps should haved used my phone camera to capture the code or had someone sat next to me. i spent more time looking at the stopwatch (bearing in mind how 'timing is critical') and concentrating on that than actually counting the flashes to the fault code. Bad news=no idea as to the fault code. Good news=pedal dance worked. More good news=The ECL hasn't returned after 2-300 miles of driving, so i'm driving around with a bit of a nervous smile on my face, I've since driven throughout the rev range so have not been drivng in the same way i was when the ECL was on where i didn't run it above 2500rpm. Would it be safe to say that all is well????????????
  5. Either mine had been off before or it had never been really tight when it came out of the factory as it loosened with less torque than that needed to open a jar of jam. I think it must have been the former as it was a horrible ropey looking thing, OEM, but just scabby. I totally agree with Dannyboy though, it would need clamping at the base of the shaft, there is a link somewhere with a pictorial showing you the best way to go about this but i haven't a clue of its whereabouts.
  6. The biggest problem i've had with axle stands is regarding the feet. I spent a few grand getting my drive tarmacked earlier this year replacing my paved driveway. The axle stands i used had feet that were just an extension of the angle steel used for the three legs, no footprint as such. I've had to get replacements with a proper pad/footprint after watching these thing sink into my smooth tarmac. The drive had been down for 3 months and it only happened a couple of weeks ago so it wasn't like the tarmac hadn't cured or was soft due to heat. I prefer a flat face unlike DBlock, as i mostly use my axle stands in the mounting point areas of the floorpan after using a trolley jack to get the car into the air.
  7. i reckon the accountants have been through Nissan with a fine tooth comb, the wiper arms on my '95 200sx were just starting to rust, it was on the original window winder motors and the car had 130,000 miles on the clock. My '04 Zed has a bad case of rust at the base of both wiper arms and i've had the O/S window winder motor replaced already. Still lovin' the Zed though
  8. Hey Brillomaster,I love the gold Brembo's on your GT4. Can't offer you any pics just the admiration of what looks to be a really trick little RCC.
  9. I just had the motor replaced in the O/S door of my Zed, i've not had my Zed for that long but it appears to be a common problem. I tried cleaning the motor but this was only a temporary fix, maybe i wasn't thorough enough i don't know but a couple of weeks later i was faced with same problem. I didn't even get the 'click' that you mentioned, mine was as dead as a Monty Python parrott. A new motor and no problems, its amazing how much quicker the o/s window winds and unwinds compared to the n/s window. I have a feeling i have the same problem just waiting around the corner with the n/s window.
  10. Hey guys thanks for your thoughts and opinions, i think between the forum, a Haynes manual and online workshop manual i reckon it should cover all of the knowledge i'm likely to need in looking after my Zed. For the price of renewing a couple broken drill bits i reckon i could do a lot worse so its going on my Christmas list. I'm liking the look of the new website, the layout is a lot less 'busy' than the previous one, plus the old site kept locking up on me after about twenty to thirty minutes.
  11. yours must be one of the first.
  12. post '56 cars have the fob that can be reprogrammed to open both doors with one click. '54 is too early a car to be able to do this. JDM cars have donr this since the start of production in '02.
  13. can anyone tell me whereabouts i can buy a bluetooth adaptor for a blackberry torch 9800???
  14. hey i wonder if anyone can help me. i have an '04 Azure blue GT with leather seats. the other day my mate jumped into my car with his dog who proceeded to scratch the leather on my seat, i tried using some black shoe polish (total waste of time) as you can still see the brown leather underneath where the dog has scratched off the black. Any ideas would be gratefully recieved as the seat looks bloody pants!
  15. Hey Husky, if the binmen haven't been and picked it up yet, i live in Rugby and could give it a good home. i could pick it up from you, send me a pm and let me know if its gone into landfill or not. SAM
  16. That looks sooo much bet ter with no badges at all, can you imagine all of the people stuck in cars behind you in traffic wondering what the hell that beautiful car is in front of them??
  17. going back a few pictures, i like the gearlever and gaitor and the handbrake and gaitor, i think its a nice touch. i also like the way the switches have been split with the blank being in the middle. i think it looks sweet.
  18. PH guy = knob, KK over an M3 anyday(unless exhaust pipes happen to do it for you, and if you're a beemer driver i can understand that exhausts have something of a hold over you). Beemer drivers have the biggest chips on their shoulders than any other car drivers in the history of mankind.
  19. my 04 has done 75k with a service every 9k, now its out of warranty i will change oil and filter every 4k and hope for many more thousands of miles
  20. my 04 has 75k, has had regular oil & filter every 9k service, now its out of warranty i will replace oil and filter every 4k and it should be good for many thousands of miles.
  21. Hey wizurd, i don't blame you one little bit, especially now the autumn is on its way and cars tend to drop in price slightly. You can always offer him a really low price giving you move to manouvre upwards. The warranty he gives with each car is a 'Gold warranty' which covers; the engine (less cracked from overheating cylinder head), timing belt, cylinder block and gearbox casing, gearbox internals, drive system, clutch (mine had a replacement just before i bought it), cooling system, prop shaft, fuel system, suspension, brakes (exc pads) wheel bearings, ABS, steering, electrics (mine is going in for a new o/s window motor) PAS, air con, and ECU. It also covers labour charges. The silver cover and bronze cover offer less. When you buy a car from him you get the Gold cover so it certainly gives you peace of mind. Like i said before i'm not related to him and he hasn't paid me for this entry i just think i got a pretty good deal off him and am chuffed to bits with the ZED i bought off him.
  22. Wow i think the NISMO spoiler looks bloody beautiful, especially on the Azure blue. I think it finishes it off a treat, giving it a look that says 'It's going as quick as f*^k even though its standing still. Not so sure about the V2 spoiler on the gold zed, it looks a bit too big for the car, but hey, each to their own.
  23. I bought my '04 Azure blue 350Z from Midwest performance back in August this year. i was met by Paul at the train station so i could look over the car. It had a full service history complete with pre-delivery inspection report and a sheaf of invoices. The warranty and service record book was stamped and fully up to date with the last service which was a P3 back in March on this year. The car also came with a 'Gold' warranty which covered most things including the renown electric window motors (which i'm in the process of having a new motor fitted under warranty). I have no reason to doubt the quality of cars he keeps in stock and he will look to source exactly what you want. He is also open to sensible negotiations. I dropped £200 deposit and paid the rest by cheque and he was trusting enough o let me drive the car away without first having the cheque clearing. He was straight with me from the word go and i wouldn't hesitate in buying from him again. For the record, i'm not related to him in any way.
  24. I've got to agree with rtbiscuit, JDM models are not undersealed at all as the japanese don't cover their roads in salt in wintertime. Also the general spec levels are not the same as UKDM cars, i 'm not sure if you remember the Top Gear test when they tested the 350Z Clarkesons biggest gripe was the quality of the plastics and their poor fit. Nissan UK told him that the car they were testing wasn't a UKDM car, and the quality for the UKDM cars would be much improved.
  25. Thanks 14N for asking the question, this was exactly the same thing i was going to be asking as i have the same problem. My sunday maintainence has just got that little bit easier.
