  1. Hey Simon, welcome to the forum, i hope you have many hours of trouble free motoring in your 370Z.
  2. Hey Nick, welcome to the forum and happy hunting for your Zed.
  3. I had the same problem and replacing the one way valve with a replacement from Halfrauds sorted my problem out.
  4. Its not a loose jack Piranha as the knocking is continuous under acceleration and stops when i dab the brakes. I think 350Zedd's reply is closer to the mark as the knocking speeds up the faster i go. I'll jack it up and crawl underneath it this weekend, supporting it with axle stands of course,
  5. Welcome to the forum. Have a good read as there is masses of information on this site which will help you out when looking to buy your ZED.
  6. Hi, welcome to the forum and along with quite a few others i think the Azure blue is by far the best colour, so much so i bought myself one 3 years ago.
  7. I'm in total agreement with Veilside Z, this stuff is nasty and when it discolours it gets brittle.
  8. If you remove the window motor and strip it down you will find that the inside will be covered in gunk and crap. Give it a good clean with a toothbrush (the wife's will do) and solvent and then remove the brushes. Chances are that these will be worn down to the nub end . Maplins do a brushes that are virtually a direct replacement (a little mat/l needs to be removed). Replace, refit and all should be well. My motor has lasted 2 years so far. This is the only fix that has worked long term for me. I can't recall the Maplin part No; but will try to dig it out if you require. This fix cost about £8 as opposed to the £130 plus you'll pay for a new motor. I initially just cleaned out the motor but within a couple of months it started to fail again. Good Luck.
  9. I've heard of this happening on other models e.g. Lexus but this is the first time I've read about it happening to the 350Z. I don't know if this would warrent the change of the dash or whether there is a fix for it. There is a guy in the USA who is fantastic at sorting out dash light to your own custom designs i don't know if he'd be able to help. You can post your query to www.gaugecraft.com if he can't help directly he might know of a man that can.
  10. Thanks for that 350zedd I'll get it jacked up later today and check the callipers. The rear pads are OK as i checked these about a month ago and they had plenty of meat left on them. I'll post later to let you know how i got on. I'll also check the wheel bearings. This is the first bit of trouble I've had in 3 years of ownership so i can't really complain. Thanks again.
  11. Hi Matt welcome to the forum from another member in Warwickshire.
  12. I wonder if anyone can help. Over the past couple of months I've encountered a knocking noise which seems to equate to the revolutions of the rear wheels. I think its coming from the offside rear wheel. I initially thought that it was the dreaded "clicky axles" but the noise continues all the way through the rev range. I don't think that its a rear wheel bearing as this would be a droning noise and not a knocking noise. Any help would be much appreciated as my MOT is due soon and i fear that this would constitute a failure. Something else which maybe relevant is that when i apply the brake pedal the knocking noise stops until i get on the gas again. Any ideas?
  13. I'm having a bit of a problem with my '04 coupe and I wonder if anyone has any ideas regarding a knocking noise coming from the drivers side axle. I don't think its the clicky axle problem as this sounds more like a deeper sound than a click, also as i speed up the knocking noise speeds up. The only time it stops is when I apply the brakes to slow down. I'm wondering if its a dodgey CV joint. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
  14. You can try fixing them, there is a really good guide as previously mentioned. Unless you replace the brushes then chances are the repair will only last a short while. Clean out all of the gunk and replace the brushes check your old brushes and chances are they will be down to the stubb. Replace with new ones and they should give you plenty of life. The brushes cost less than a tenner, thus saving you a few quid, the only cost to you will be a couple of hours in your garage removing the door cards and the motors, cleaning them up and fitting new brushes and putting it all back together again.
  15. Welcome to the forum and congratz on the purchase of your Zed.
  16. Welcome Steve, and congratulations on the purchase of your Azure Blue 350Z. The best colour IMO.
  17. My last S14 was lowered and was an absolute PITA having to plan journeys whee ther were no speed bumps, even more of a PITA if you're driving in an unfamiliar area. I ended up raising it to a reasonable height but because it was so stiff with extra bracing it was the most uncomfortable car I've driven. It was at its beston track days but as a daily drive it was useless. I've kept my 350Z at a pretty much standard height and i no longer have to visiy my Chiropractor on a regular basis.
  18. Patience is a virtue, I'd hang on if i were you, unless having one of the first Nismo's on the road is really important to you and only you can make that decision. But it does seem as though your hand is being forced.
