  1. I get Sainsbury's to deliver every week but I still have to pop to Waitrose for my goodies Somehow I don't find Waitrose as stressful as other supermarkets though. I think it may be because it seems less frantic and cluttered?
  2. I really like your posts with all the pictures to show how the work progresses Is it Keyser that takes all the photos?
  3. Oh I see. Thank you for that. There a few things that everyone else seems to know but that I am afraid to ask but that has cleared up one point for me
  4. What do they do that makes a difference? Sorry, I know I am an imbecile but if anyone decides to answer my question could you please explain in simple language. It would be much appreciated
  5. That's what I was thinking too. I've got lots of pics of me and in cars on there but mainly at the other end of the beach if that is the Criccieth end (assuming it is Black Rock?). I've driven on a beach in Tenby too I seem to remember??
  6. Whereabouts in Wales is that? It would be good to drive along the beach Sorry, meant to add, nice car
  7. What a lovely looking car. The interior looks wonderful
  8. Aaw, you sound like a really happy bunny
  9. Wonderful news I felt really sorry that you had to sell your beautiful car ... but now you don't - yay!!
  10. Thanks for your help chaps When I worked in an office I was once invited to be a member of a quiz team (all male) who called themselves Norma's Nockers. I had to decline that offer just as I am, regrettably of course, declining your house name suggestions
  11. Aaaargh, I just got all the post for the other Orchard Cottage. I wonder if they got mine? I think I will hold their post to ransom until they change their bloody house name
  12. Keyser, thank you so much for the explanation and lots of lovely photos. I now understand what's what Your house reminds me of my childhood home in some ways. My Dad was really into cars and at one point he had six Capris on the front drive in various stages of repair. He eventually had to get rid of a few when my Mum issued an ultimatum as it was spoiling her view from the kitchen window I like it in Dorset and I promise that if I ever come down I will bring finest Ginger Chocolate biscuits - ha ha. They are yummy
  13. I'm completely mystified I don't actually know what the Zed Shed is or where it might be. Equally I am perplexed by the shorts-wearing man (who, incidentally, looks very much like my daughter's boyfriend) because it has been raining for the past month where I live. I think I will move to Zed Shed land if you have your own micro-climate
  14. In the cold light of morning I've decided that it will be more trouble than it's worth to change the name. Burning my 'rival's' house down seems a little extreme but they have erected a scruffy, hand-painted wooden sign on the verge proclaiming that they own the real Orchard Cottage so I could easily go and uproot that and add it to my logburner. Cackle, cackle
  15. Wow some nice stuff going on there. I just love the azure and you have really made the most of it!
  16. Where on earth do you find all these images SMD?
  17. I hate eBay I do sometimes have to resort to using it though.
  18. Oi, you filthy minded lot I wanted the Gummi Pfledge stuff (apologies if I've misspelt that one) but I couldn't find it anywhere so I have bought some baby oil instead. It's not actually raining now - shock horror - so I will go out and paint a bit on the seals and see what happens in the next downpour. Don't suppose I'll have to wait long
  19. Hmm, Royal Fail are the bane of my life Last week one of their keener postmen slammed my front door so hard that he dislodged the resistor in my burglar alarm, set the thing off and I had to pay a call out fee to the alarm company to fix it as the alarm thought it had been tampered with. Does Two Bears Cottage sound ok?
  20. Has anyone here ever changed the name of their house? I am getting increasingly fed up of couriers attempting to deliver my parcels to the wrong house because someone up in the village (I live in an adjacent hamlet) decided to give their house exactly the same name as mine The name isn't wildly exciting but it does describe my cottage as I have an orchard Not sure if the other house has an orchard or if they just liked the name. Anyway, after my latest fiasco with DPD on Friday, which I won't go into in case steam comes out of my ears again I wondered if it would be a good idea to change the house name to something more original? Royal Mail don't help either as they have our 'official address' entered incorrectly on their database. Amazingly they have decided that we live in the next hamlet along, even though we are three miles away from that location. So, has anyone ever changed their house name before and, if so, did it cause many problems? I really don't want to exchange one problem for another.

    Wrapping roof

I'm sure that wrapping is considered a temporary change so you don't have to inform your insurance company, even if you change the entire vehicle cover.
  22. Hello and welcome I don't think I'm scared of snakes but I've never really put it to the test as I've not seen one close up.
