  1. Before I attack mine with a butter knife, have you got the volume and cruise controls on your steering wheel?
  2. Do they? Cool! I was under the impression the wheel needed to come off too.
  3. CLICHÉ WARNING - Pictures really don't do it justice. Like the carbon effect hydrographics, (Ricey, back me up here) it seems to be difficult to photograph and pick up the depth of the design. Rather than just looking like it's a clear backed transfer that's been applied over paint, there are light and dark areas which further the appearance of it actually being metal, plus there is also a 'grain' to the graphic to give it that brushed metal appearance. It really is rather clever.
  4. I appreciate it wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste Kyle, a lot of mods can be a bit Marmite, especially when trying something different. For some (unknown) reason, I do really like checker plate as a material so the fact it also wasn’t carbon and it meant I could use gunmetal as the base colour was a no brainer for me. Plus as you say, you also like the fact it’s not carbon and you like the colour, so two outta three aint bad, right? Anyway, you own a BMW now, so your opinion doesn’t count
  5. As above, the kit comes with different diameter sizes. You just need a little forward thinking to figure out which you're gonna use where.
  6. So...... I've had some interior parts hydrodipped. but while they were off being dipped, I figured I'd also carry out a few other changes. These included: Fit new head unit Re-colour the arm rests to match my seats Change gear knob to a Nismo style one I acquired ages ago from Buster Wrap the HU facia and gear surround in 5D gloss carbon (I like the contrast to the dipped items). I didn't want to go for the default carbon hydrodip; although the carbon does look amazing, one of the great things with the hydrographic transfer is the amount of options available in the film. I wanted a silver or grey console and door handles to tie in with the colour of the car and my re-coloured seats. I started to think of silver flames, skulls and other (even more crazy) ideas, but thought they'd be a bit 'busy' for the interior. I then considered a brushed aluminium or steel look but figured this wasn't busy enough and would look a bit plain unless you looked closely. Still thinking of metals, I thought of this - checker plate!! Bingo! I asked for the base colour (the colour the items are pained before dipping) to be WV2 - The Nissan Gunmetal colour of my car. I'm really pleased I did. My new head unit came with a USB cable coming from the rear. So the natural place for this was the cubby. A very slight enlargement to one of the holes at the rear now gives me USB connectivity to the HU. I also wanted to place a satnav in the cubby, rather than having one stuck on the windscreen. I picked a 5 inch one up from eBay for £30 and for the money, it's brilliant. A couple of pieces of sticky back foam placed in the cubby mean it sits snugly in place and can be charged from the new USB cable behind it. Overall, I'm really pleased. What d'ya think?
  7. Woohoo another Midlands Zed owner along and congrats on the purchase.
  8. Finished? Oh Amy. I thought you knew better than that. Once Zeditis kicks in, when are our cars ever 'finished'?
  9. +1. It also upsets the balance of a symmetrical rear end now, especially with the clear fog and Nismo sticker doing their best to help balance it all out.
  10. :scare: :surrender: :scare: That is all.....
  11. Thanks guys I hope that's meant in a good way!
  12. I have seen someone hitting that car with a hammer And SHEZZA actually paid him to do it!
  13. I saw your lovely Zed a number of times in 2014 and now we've reached 2015, I'm assuming (and hoping) you made the right choice going forward.
  14. Hydrodip Thread: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/92795-aquagraphix-dipped-my-insides-serious-plastic-porn/ Vinyl wrap
  15. You could wrap them in vinyl, or get them Hydrodipped. Some of the recent examples of Hydrodip work are awesome (I'm now off to find some pics....).
  16. Post the pics up of the other bits inside and in the bay Jimmy
  17. Great start I like the smoothed front and plate relocation.
  18. Cheers Lyndz. I could do with the owners manual as the only one I have is in French, German and Dutch! I've found one online though - I'll just have to print it at work when no one's looking
  19. No I didn't Im afraid. Had to call it a day as I was losing light. I just made sure I had the basics - power and sound. Think I need another steering wheel stalk, as my last HU was an Alpine. Hopefully gonna spend this weekend on the car as I'll have my dipped bits back, so should be able to fit it all. Also need to take my door card off as the window motor is playing up
  20. Hi Lyndz, Had a bash today. Basically did what's detailed in Buster's mod and all is well. Married all 8 of the speaker wires up (colour to colour), plugged in the blue to blue for the amp and the others just plugged straight in (power etc). The sound is good, in all 4 speakers and the bass is strong. Didn't fit it properly haven't got my centre console back, but happy it's all working as it should.
  21. Thank you Randy, you Sir, are a gentleman I've still got some orange material left if anyone wants a 'replica' of the above
  22. Cheers guys Quite surprising actually matey. The majority of the pieces have been fitted sine Sept/Oct and they're all still very clean. Haha. Not really. But what it effectively has done, is DOUBLE the amount of orange under the bonnet!
