  1. Bought a new E46 M3 drop top with Ac schnitzer zorst back in 03,now own a zed which again I've had from new. Still miss that M car now as it was one of the best cars I've owned. Putting to one side the technological advances made with cars since then this is my comparison( coupe) not conv. 1. Performance wise a standard Z wont keep up on track due to the power disadvantage but balance and drivability on the throttle they are on a par. 2.yes the standard brakes on the m3 are shocking! 3. Exhaust note of that strait 6 at 8000 rpm rasping away is intoxicating! 4. Interior/seating of the BM was second to none.but in the Z you feel your in a drivers car. 5. Looks are subject to taste as each car is classed as a coupe and they are both so different,( saloon based verses ,two seater) 6.If I was in the market with 6k to spend on either it's a tough call if you have no desire to modify. 7. Gonna keep my old Datsun till they put me in a box...
  2. Welcome along to the forum chap! My other half comes from Fife, I'm sure you've heard of the Maclean family lol! She went to Saint Columbus school.
  3. Welcome along mate!
  4. My car made the same noise the day I picked her up from new! Nothing to worry about. Would like a pint of what Ollys drinking! Lol
  5. Big cardboard box arrived today, not opened it yet! Will post pics when I've painted and fitted.
  6. Fastest thing round there will be a Tesla! Lol
  7. Welcome along mate from a fellow Zedder in Christchurch!
  8. Looking good mate! Been looking for a not too Gay wing for a while and this looks sweet! No longer on the fence! Lol
  9. Like the evil new nostrils Bob. Velociraptor springs to mind!
  10. And there was me thinking a bit of fencing in the Back garden might keep you occupied while we were held up on the Zed Shed! ..............
  11. Hope this is the last hoop you guys have jump through to get the show back on the road. Zorro and Indie are poised and ready for the re start.
  12. Will be along on the Tarmac stand and have 3 track time sessions booked so looking forward to hustling round a circuit new to me. Got a spare seat as Buster is busy this weekend! Joking apart if anyone wants to ride shotgun they are more than welcome.
  13. Got the Brighton Speed trials on the 5th and Gurston Down on the 13th Sept.
  14. Good luck mate, and take some video/pics if you can. I'm already booked up every weekend in September!
  15. Nice motor! I do love a sleeper as you know! The Germans so get the interiors spot on.
  16. If I had an extra garage and I know they have already increased in price over the last few years. The mk 1 golf GTI 1.6 in black would be the one for me!
  17. Great progress once again guys! Hope to see you next fingers crossed.
  18. Welcome along mate! I can remember when I ordered my car new in April 07 with no idea of a delivery date. Enjoy the build up and when the day of collection arrives do yourself a favour drive home and erase all links to this place before it's too late!
  19. Would love to do this one but unless you have OEM or a very quiet aftermarket set up you will struggle to pass the very low sound test level which is 90 db. I know my car is boosted but with a full Miltek system my reading at Goodwood last weekend was 96!!! Great circuit with some super fast corners. Might come along in my Bipper van! Lol
  20. Welcome along!
  21. I have spent a small fortune experimenting with all the leading brands of so called summer tyres and I'm not going to slag any particular brand as every car has an individual set up with ref to power, wheel size, dry weather and maybe a trackday/Motorsport bias. In my experience with the events I do the Michelin pilot SS is the best all round tyre by a big margin and are even a match for the toyo 888rs which I run on my rays once they have a couple of laps of heat in them.
  22. Welcome along from Christchurch!
  23. Ordered some exhaust gaskets yesterday afternoon and they arrived this morning! Great service as ever Ewan.
  24. On this advice alone my wife purchased 2 Clematis plants today (east facing wall just so you know) I will let you know how they do Gotta luv this forum not only am I writing a build thread on a garage instead of a car (let alone a Zed) I'm even getting gardening advice - spot on Just so you all know the water board has been paid, video survey next week, structural engineer has produced a plan (exact calcs to be done if the design is acceptable) we are also in talks with the water board "Sewer Protection Officer" despite the title (not even sure if it his official title) he seems spot on and he will give us a heads up on our plan all being well we should get confirmation (or denial ) on or around the 21st so a 3 week delay, we are going to rip out another hedge line while we wait and I have a few jobs to finish in the house, Andy and Tim (the builders) have finished the retaining wall and are going to occupy themselves on a few little jobs they have outstanding for other clients while we try and get everything back on track. I'll get some pics of progress and the other hedge removal later this week or at the weekend. Be good, take care and above all HAVE FUN! Its been a hard couple of weeks and good progress has been made by the day and night shift but unfortunately the Zed shed construction team has had to put things on hold while the legals get sorted. I think the home team may be busy fencing this weekend though! We will miss you guys.........
