The Zed Shed Part Deux Build still going
andy james replied to Keyser's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I did a lot of bending over today and I have to say laying wet concrete blocks in the rain is a bucket list option that you guys may have missed!! Lol -
Before my excursion into the wilderness I fitted the same Strosek spoiler as you have. Maybe this pic gives you an idea of what your new back end would look like with the chargespeed.
-
I need a new windscreen but have found that breakers yards won't send for insurance/health and safety reasons! Looking to purchase one within a 100 mile radius of Bournemouth so I can collect.
-
She is looking good mate! Those wheels would look good on any colour Zed. Got a sneaky feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg! Lol.

Hey if you need any help with anything that needs a ratchet...... Well I'm your girl,,,, Katrina x x

Andyjames Supercharged Silver Pheonix Rebuild

Spent a couple of hours in the garage this afternoon. Door bolted on with the help of my workshop assistant Katrina! I have been really worried about this as it was going to be a further test to see whether the car was structurally out of line. It clunked shut first time! Phew! Got some oil filter/cooler pipes and fittings to order as they took a knock! Once the radiator housing arrives from Clark Motorsport,Supercharger pipes are repaired and the other bits I've ordered are all ready the engine bay can go back together. More to come! Lol -
Nice one Bob! We need to get together and save on postage! lol

Some progress made this week. Passenger seat replaced thanks to Buster. Damaged alloy supercharger pipe work has gone off to be repaired/remanufactured. Ordered drivers seat belt and steering wheel airbag from Zmanalex. Ordered Misimoto rad,Samco hoses, new aftermarket front wings from Tarmacsportz. Also this turned up today thanks to Katrina part finder!lol There is a long way to go and I still have a 20+ list of parts new/ secondhand yet to source before she can be reassembled. Much more to come!! -
Congratulations to you both!

Spoke to Alex and to be fair he has a door, but it's from an earlier car which would be ok but the colour and interior panel is different. Think im going to have to go for any colour facelift door and re spray. Thanks Chaps. -

Good news from my mate who is a the manager at a well reputed body shop. He can't believe I got out unscathed and he also can't believe how well the car survived! The only question mark was the rear quarter repair which as you all know is double skinned and can hide untold damage. Well he said that he has seen a lot worse, rear quarter can be replaced and the inner skin can be pulled out. Due to the fact that the car is stripped it kind of restricts me with who I can use to repair the car so I'm going to have to get the best job done in the Bournemouth area. We have lift off!! I know it's probably a lot cheaper to go down the donor car route but this is a way of getting my car back at my own pace but she will be "stronger, faster, better than before!!! Starting the quest for many new parts as of tonight, but the one major used part I need is a complete facelift silver passenger door so if anyone has one or sees one let me know. Once again thank you for all your kind words.- 226 replies

Thanks Ian. Chris mentioned today that you had a rear quarter done after your hit and run which was repaired well. -
As some of you already know I had a rather big crash at Gurston Down three weeks ago which I was rather lucky to walk away from considering we barrel rolled into the trees! Yesterday I went to Salisbury to drag the car back on a trailer, put her in my garage to access the damage so I could decide to either break,re build or buy something else. As the camber arm was broken it was real pig just to move! Once in my garage the first thing was to jack up and take the wheels off so I could have I good look around the car. Katrina who has never cleaned a car in her life decided that she looked really neglected and took it on herself to grab Henry the Hoover and the detail spray and started Valeting the injured car which was full of glass, grass and dirt! Think at this point she thought we could win the show and shine right off award! Joking apart I felt pretty crap last night as I've had this car from new and a serious amount of time and money has been spent on developing her over the last 3 years. Chris and Bob said they would pop over late morning today to give me some advice on how to strip the cars bent bits off in my own time over the few weeks to allow my body shop guru to to come and see if the car can be repaired and then I would take them out for a Carvery. Well in true Zed shed fashion that didn't happen! 3 hours later and copious Dougnuts,Coke,Burger King quadruple cheese turbo burgers later this is what the old girl looks like now! As you can see it's quite remarkable how well the chassis rails and the A and B pillars have come out unscathed! After pulling the broken rad and fan housing out of the way of the Suprercharger and ancillary pulleys we tried to start the motor which fired up and sounded as sweet as ever! The speed these guys work is bloody amazing as I would have taken me several evenings and weekends to get where I am today. Subject to my body shop expert confirming that the rear quarter can be sorted them we have a Steve Austin scenario. "We can rebuild the first £6 zed!!!! Thank you to my very good friends. watch this space and I could be looking for a few nice second hand, silver parts in the next few weeks!
