  2. You have only got 5 letters on your plate? Mine is 5 letters and is on one line legally spaced and BS marked to. Sorry if I'm being dense here but doesn't that then defeat the purpose of a square plate if it's all on one line?

    That, or Tardis.
  4. That's the one I've got (minus the patio cleaner gubbins... and I paid more for it. ). Has currently outlasted two cars in the household and never let me down. Just to note, the "foam applicator" that comes with it is useless, you're much better off getting a dedicated foam lance as well, it's the Kew/Alto fitting you'll need for a Nilfisk.
  5. I have a fair idea, I just can't bring myself to form the words...
  6. That. Although with the clay bar, if you stick to the Megs Quick Clay (which the likes of Halfrauds sell) you can't really go wrong to be honest. Definitely worth playing with a polisher on a scrap panel before going at your car with it though.
  7. If you do walk, let them know it's because you're not willing to pay that much for it. There's always the chance that they'll re-think their price if they're aware that's specifically why you've walked.
  8. No problem. I like to avoid eBay as much as possible myself.
  9. I can confirm that money exists. Now tell us.
  10. It might be possible to tidy them up but it'll take forever if you're doing a few. It would be easiest to replace with anodized bolts in a colour of your choice. Either fine (1200 or so) wet and dry or paint them in a colour that matches/contrasts the pretty new bolts you've just bought. Metal polish, fine steel wool and some elbow grease. Or a machine polish if you have one. I could hazard a guess at that one but it'd only be a guess, so I'll leave that one to someone who knows better than I.
  11. I reset mine after having it for four months, it was reading 23 (ish) when I reset it - mainly driving through town with the odd a/b road run. It was rest about 100 odd miles ago and it's currently reading... 23. Again. This being a 5 mile stop=start type drive into work and 15 mile A road drive home. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I probably average about 23 mpg.
  12. Daily driven. My other car has only recently turned a wheel for the first time since I got the Zed... and even then it was only driven 6 feet.
  13. Or just not drive it? Looks good, Dave.
  14. In the sun, yes but only because of the pearl. In any other weather (also known as British weather ) then IMHO of course.
  15. Scoobynet is your best bet for advice on that one. You might even recognise some people over there. Just to contrast what Zugara has said; I found my scoob was actually no worse than my Zed is around town (mid to low 20's mpg - I did manage to get that down to a single digit once on track though ). That said, mine very much wasn't brand new. If you're looking at Hawk Eyes, that shouldn't be an issue for you either (it not being brand new, rather than the mpg ) I've not heard of fuel buggering up the ECU, but low RON fuel will munch the engine fairly efficiently unless mapped for it. It'll suffer from knock considerably more than a Zed would on low RON fuel, for example. The power delivery is quite raw (slightly more refined in a New Age than in the classics) and it's certainly not a GT car. It feels painfully slow until the turbo spools up and you get a big shove in the back as it comes alive. It needs more working of the gearbox for it to shift but it does just stick to the road. The Hawks are quite heavy compared to earlier Imprezas too. It's a completely different car to the Zed so I'd definitely recommend test driving one before making your mind up on them. Can't offer any insight into the others though as I've never had the pleasure, the only thing that leaps out is that the Elise would appear to be somewhat... less practical than the others you mention.
  16. You're lucky, the wheels fall off and the radio re-tunes itself if you do that four times!
  17. Nearly as shiny there as the day I picked it up.
  18. Nope, only when they're blue.
