Holy thread revival time! Just looking at Clifford 650 with BlackJax, got a call back from a place listed on the Clifford website, £400 installed. Is that a decent price as the unit on it's own is coming out at around £300 online? It was Manchester Car Audio that quoted me that (http://www.manchester-car-audio.co.uk/) if any one has any experience with them.

Mines coming out as near £1300 for M28 post code. It's £100 cheaper on the driveway than in the garage, and another £100 cheaper on the street than my driveway That's with Admiral multi-car discount aswell, without that its near £1900 anywhere! 26 years old 2 years no claims Plenum UpRev Exhaust

Well I officially fail at searching! edit: Looking at that thread, that's more 350Z specific, which are the bits I know about. I'm looking for the more generic 'buyin a second hand car from a private seller' kind of thing. What needs to be handed over, checked etc Thanks!

I did a quick search for this but nothing specific came up for what I was looking for, might be a guide I've missed somewhere though! Looking at buying a second hand zed and it being the first car that's actually going to cost me a considerable amount of money, I thought it would be good to find out everything I need to know before handing over cash to someone. My current car cost me £1k about 5 years ago from a friend's friend so I never really went into detail on what I needed to get off of him and can't remember either way! So having a quick look on the internet I've come across a few things but I'm sure there are many other things to check and ask for before handing over money: Check address on logbook Check VIN on the car against VIN in logbook MOT certificates Logbook Service History Check the seller is the recorded keeper So what else is there that you generally need to check on any second hand motor? I know of a fair few of the common 350Z faults but wouldn't mind some help on the wider aspect of buying a second hand motor! Cheers

I know it's only 4 years old and a lot of you are saying it's a great price and a bargain, but isn't 65k miles in 4 years very high mileage? Not trying to put any potential buyers off as I'd love to buy it myself if I had another grand or two towards my zed budget but with 65k miles after 4 years I thought that's high and would effect the price?

Looking to spend under £12k now as moving house is costing more than I was expecting! Trying to find the perfect zed for under £10.5k. Love the colour of yours but 65k miles in 4 years is a bit much for me and I'm after alezan leather ideally, Thanks for the post though

Is there anything in the deal that's worth grabbing for someone that has no cleaning products at all? My current car doesn't know of the word "wash" so I'm hoping to start off better with a new zed next month

Off to see a few zeds on Sunday! Spotted a few round garages in Manchester/Stockport. I've not a real good look around a zed yet so just going for a nose as a lot of them seem a bit overpriced and I'd rather buy from an enthusiast who's looked after the car. I've got just over 4 weeks to find what I'm after for £10k, heres hoping!

Interested depending on the touch screen quality and operating system mostly!

How's this all be going then? Would love to get one and I've built enough computers in my time to know my way around the hardware/software but how does it all hook up to the car? That'd be my problem!

I've been running through insurance quotes for my first zed and they come out cheaper on a driveway then in the garage, and then cheaper again on the street than on the driveway. Crazy and it's still £1200 fully comp but its the Manchester postcode

Cheers Ricey! The best zed I've come across so far for what I'm after is an 04 GT, 33k miles, new exhaust and UpRev'd for £10.5k, which I'm thinking is a bit much but not totally sure? Looks in perfect condition and well looked after but I'd have though it's £1k overpriced? Also, I've come across two that are pretty very similar in spec, age, condition but one is £2k more, with 25k miles less. Does the milage have any sort of bearing/knock-on effect on the car or is it like you say, more to do with service history and how its been ran?

How important is mileage on a zed? I know a fair few people have said it's more to do with the service history and how the car's been looked after but does mileage have anything against the car? I know a few people have reached 100k miles without many troubles but I've always been a bit wary of cars with 50-60k+. Do a fair amount of zed's suffer from rusty exhaust and rear clicking or is it quite uncommon? Would it better to go for a car that's had these fixed/replaced over one that doesn't mention it or would the problem have come to light by now on a 5+ year old car? Nice zed Danny, just a bit out my price range with me moving house now confirmed today!

Thanks ewan, looks decent but I was hoping to find one closer to Manchester. There's someone here that might be selling a zed that's not too far from me and the right colour/leather combo. I'll let you know though as I'm after alzean leather
