    Number Plates

Tried drilling the plates off, seemed to be working, but I just pulled the plates off instead. Patience isn't my strong point WIll take photo of new numberplate tomorrow! Is it easy to remove the front number plate mount on the OEM bumper? Tempted to take it off to see what just the numberplate onto the bumper looks like.
  2. Try starting bottom right of the door, it took me bloody ages first time as I thought I was going to snap the plastic as I've never done anything like this, but it just needed a proper good tug and it snaps off. I got the bottom right popper off by wedging something inbetween and using as a lever.
  3. Ahhh the speed awareness course. I was going to take this after being offered it until i found out that you still have to inform your insurance company, meaning they will still put your premium up and you have to pay £80 and spend a day being talked to like a child. Still if you need a clean license for a job it is worth it. Since when? I thought it was SP30 + £60 and you tell your insurers or you take the course and that's it unless you do it again within next 2-3 years.
  4. I'll be able to update you on everything about the highway code soon! Had to order "The Highway Code" to take with me to a 4 hour speed awareness course. JOY. I'm sure I'll drive back a new man.
  5. Love the Exige! One of my friends is just about to buy one, a Lotus is definitely up there for next purchase, can get some great bhp/tonne out of them!
  6. Never got into GTA after it went 3D. Think it's Rockstar games in general as I couldn't get into Red Dead, far too much horse riding back and forth all the time!
  7. The only dynos I have was pre HFCs+06 air box and post HFCs+06 airbox so not entirely accurate

    Number Plates

Haven't even got a drill! Waiting to see if I can borrow one off girlfriends parents, need it for sticking some shelves up in the loft. I'm guessing if the screws are naffed I just down the middle of them, how far? Don't fancy sticking a new hole in bumper
  9. ********, how long did that take to clean off? Still at it I guess? ! I had the joys of helping the missus clean an egg off her new Fiat 500 when I got home. The little scrote who decided to do it managed to hit the bottom of the windscreen, get it up the window, down the passenger side window and in every crevice possible. ****.

    Number Plates

Could I stick the new plates on top of the current plates? Would that help when it comes to getting them off? Need to find a funny shaped screwdriver otherwise! Was tempted to take the front mount off the bumper and put the plate directly onto the bumper but not sure how it'd look with standard plates?

    Number Plates

Oh forgot to ask, what bloody screwdriver gets the standard plates off? The screws in the current plates are some extremely rusted square holed looking things? Not got anything that fits it, flathead/phillips/round/star. It's just rusted as nuts! What's the sticky tape like for getting off if/when I get new front/rear end? Thanks
  12. Just received my lovely new number plate in the post but didn't realise they wouldn't have holes pre-drilled! So two options, drill holes in the number plates, without a drill, or adhesive sticky tape? The plates themself have a white back on them which is sticky underneath, can I peel it off and use that or do I need sticky pads? If I do try to drill the holes what's the best option to not **** it up?
  13. Just be sure to check any work that gets done completely before driving off! Not saying it was their fault but I had to go back to get the exhaust adjusted after getting HFC's fitted, was a ballache to have to take a few hours off work and drive there! Seemed decent blokes though and definitely know what they're on about, will be taking the car there for service at the end of the year.
  14. Try having your less than 48 hour old iPhone stolen that's not insured. Still haven't got hold of one since it happened last Saturday, no stock anywhere and Apple have decided to stop selling 16GB iPhone 4's, only 8GB now
  15. +1 flyeyes, I'm waiting until I get read LEDs before I do mine but it looks simple to do and easy to remove.
  16. I have mine permanently set to speed. I never look at the speedo any more! Giant clock on aftermarket headunit
  17. How about this video then, this is phwoar! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... QR49JGySTM
  18. haha trust me, I am god awful. Girlfriend was extremely surprised I came back in with all fingers intact, I'm not trusted with a hammer and nail on my own in this house I'm sure there's a market out there for me to make them but I'm 99% sure a finger would be lost during the speeding up process.
  19. Build one for the cubby! It's what I did, bit of MDF, black felt and some double sided sticky stuff. It's a perfect fit and I just pop my iPhone into everytime I get in the car, connects to my headunit and charges it! Use it for satnav as well which is handy. I've got some photos somewhere if I can find them, it's hard trying to take a photograph of your iPhone in it's own holder.
  20. Can't decide whether to buy a plate I want or not! I was after "86 TOM" but that went to auction and went over my budget. I've found another plate that's in the layout of "X00 XXX" for £1300 including VAT and DoT transfer. There are a couple cheaper but the "X00" part relates to my birthday and the "XXX" is my name so it suits me well!
  21. I wouldn't if you have the choice. The PS3 version looks a lot better.... http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=662060 Plus it's on 2 discs http://playstationlifestyle.net/2011/09 ... lefield-3/ Xbox is dropping well behind now imo. 2 discs doesn't bother me at all, I'll only be playing the MP so that disc can stay in all the time, and installing it will mean quicker load times Reading about 360 vs PS3 it looks like PS3 textures might be better but 360 has better performance (framerate). As long as the game doesn't look any worse then BC2, I'm not fussed. I'm buying it to play MP non-stop, not stare at pretty leaves
  22. Gonna grab it for 360, was tempted to get it on PS3 as I've played CoD and BF:BC2 on it but gonna try BF3 on 360!
  23. Turns out the knocking noise was my air freshener knocking against the side window, what a muppet I am for that! Will take a look at the brakes today, anything specific I should be looking for or would I need to get the pads out?
  24. The pads were on the car before I bought it and it's been fine for the past 6 months until yesterday, just wondering if the pads might need changing but I can't seem to find anywhere stating their average life?
  25. Just wrote out this post and then Safari decided to log me out and delete what I'd written :@ Driving to work yesterday and today, very slowly I noticed that the brakes, or what I think is the brakes, were squeaking when used with very little pressure. It only happened with a tiny amount of pressure at a low speed, anything more and there was no squeaking. Running EBC yellowstuff pads which have 6-7000 miles on them, how long should they be lasting on average road driving? Also recently after having the Berk HFCs fitted I've noticed a knocking sound on the underside passenger side of the car. It's not when pulling off or slowing, but when I go over a bump or around a sharp corner, it's as if something is hanging down swinging left to right when I turn. Anything known or could it just be anything hanging that needs fixing? Guess the only way to find out is to jack the car up and have a look. Will it be fine on the jack that comes with the car or will it still be too low to get under? Thanks
