That reminds me - I took the wife on a long weekend to Amsterdam for her birthday a few years back - but it was a surprise for her, to do it I needed her boss to give her Friday off but not tell her and fair play he rearranged her diary on Thursday night and text me to say all was good he asked me where we were going and where we were staying and wished us an enjoyable weekend, when we arrived at the hotel there was a box of chocolates and a bottle of champagne waiting with a "thank you for all your hard work" note from her boss - it didn't cost a lot but the thought that went into it and to actually take the time to do it really was very nice, so yes money is always great to get but sometimes it's not just the £££££££ that make you feel good

Andy and Dan be happy to go out for a beer with you anytime as long as Dan doesn't bring a handbag There are a few celebs I'd like to meet just to see what they are "really" like but I just worry it would spoil what I think of them. Of the top of my head and limited to 3 for the purposes of a night chatting in a pub - Aaron Kaufmann Bill Bailey Shabina Schmidt I met Mike Harding in a pub one night and he spent an hour or two with us just chatting I can say I was in pain from laughing so hard great bloke and a very funny man! Edit: O I recon Jenson Button would be good company as well, I just do

So onto something else I did just for fun (Twice of course ) If you look at the dash pics in the previous post you can see the start button on the left, it may look familiar as it is the type that I and several others have used in their 350z's. This one was left over as we never got round to fitting it to Mrs K's 350 before she sold it, BUT it didn't work - they are cheap and it's been sitting around for the last 2 years so We decided to go back to the original start button from the Radical but it just wasn't working for me so while Tim was busy wiring I got an old ally bar and set about it on the lathe - soon made this lot Which assembled looks like and that wasn't doing it for me either looked good of the car but not right when we put it on the dash so ...................... Yes do it TWICE, made this assembled Much better so that went in the dash No need for it whatsoever just thought it was "needed" More soon .................................
-
On to the dash ................ After the remodel we started wiring it up and laying out the switches - It changed a few times - wasn't happy with the Hazard switch so that went and we added more warning lights From the back CDL3 Dash and lights You would think all done in primer and ready for top coat But no - started getting bubbles in it, turns out the first coat of primer had not taken or dried properly and all the rest of the HB primer was more like a wrap than paint, moral of this story is don't use the dregs of a tin of primer that's over 2 year old So it is now been sanded all the way back to the fiber-glass and I put a coat of nice new primer on it last night that appears to have taken correctly so the rest of the week will be more coats of primer and lots of sanding so hopefully I can get a top coat on it this weekend. ( so I'm keeping on with the do it twice theme ) More wiring soon ....................................

Hi guys, sorry to anyone that reads/follows this I've not been keeping it up to date Done loads so I shall try and get some bits posted up over the next few days to bring you up to speed Starting with ....................................... The steering wheel So we decided that it would be cool to have the SLM (Shift Light Module) on the steering wheel along with the new Dash control buttons and a headlight flasher just for fun So took all these bits new 12 core spiral cable some heat shrink and a bit of soldering we have from the front and all lit More soon ...........................

Can I leave my Mini round yours for a year - save all the agro of an engine swap @ OP - Main thing is to listen for leaks, whistling or sucking type noises, other than that it could be a failed ECU or throttle body, seen that happen before but only when the TB was moved with the battery disconnected.
-
I hope the reg changes make it more interesting - gets so boring when 1 team dominate by miles, even a bit of unreliability makes it more fun sometimes and the development time in the new season may add that
-
Sounds like me, I'm getting old though Try the throttle resets then - might be due to battery off - also worth checking for leaks - unused cars can often have more problems than used ones!
-
A throttle position reset won't lose the Uprev remap How long ago was it mapped, have you done any work on her recently? EDIT: FYI I did loads on mine

Wishing all the best for toady

MX5 sold already? Or you having a senior moment? Senior moment - seem to be getting them more and more these days I was trying to remember if the wife had a name for her MR2 but couldn't remember, another senior problem! I will edit it now
-
350z - The Bitch 370z - Hissing Sid Radical - Scary or the wife calls it Expensive Wife's Astra - Your Car (well that's what I call it) My youngest daughter calls her car (Citron C1) Alfred (the butler from Batman - don't ask me) Eldest Daughter does not appear to have a name for her MX-5
-
O yes you can Depends what you were expecting I suppose, I thought it was quite well done and rather amusing - but that's my opinion and you are most definitely entitled to yours

cool

Now not being a wimp like Wasso above I mapped mine in for 3300rpm the results are spectacular!!!! look at all that torque Great kit never let me down, only thing I didn't have was auto bottle openers IIRC, usage as Wasso says is subjective, you can use a bottle in a day of half in a month it all depends on what you are doing with the car, however much you use it's usually all FUN! GLWTS
-
If your not using it and you have the Guffin sprocket modulator unit as well can I get first dibs on it? Sounds like something I should have in at least one of my cars
-
maybe i just need to learn how to search the forum properly i cant even find your build thread Here ya go 81 pages of it that should keep you indoors for an hour or two if you read it http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/52481-project-zee-business-update-25th-july/

I was waiting for the engine rebuild, gonna unsubscribe now I don't blame you mate, I had my engine built for the Z and just had the new engine for the Radical built and even after building a complete basic functions wiring loom from scratch I am having the engine loom and ECU done by a pro, it's not that I can't do it but like you I don't want to melt over £3k of electronics because I put a wire in wrong or blow a brand new turbo up because I put the oil feed in backwards or something stupid like that. Keep up the good work mate, shame work gets in the way EDIT : Quaife 5 speed gearbox and AP clutch.

You didn't look hard enough Andy, did all of mine (except the diff) when I rebuilt it it's in my build thread somewhere Have fun doing that lot though and keep us informed
