  1. Second on the S20 that’s what I use generally and it’s great stuff. As above hand polishing with AG or the like you are just putting fillers in, you aren’t fixing it.
  2. Welcome along, I would recommend you speak to one of the traders in the trading section on the forum. They will advise you on what to go for that suits your needs.
  3. Cheers guys, I kinda expected you both to reply! I'm not so sure on that video, the fact he writes off Bathe Essence because the cap was broken and he cant buy in bulk but still a great effort at reviewing so many products in one go.
  4. If you can get a good deal on an import that's been in the country a while with a decent history then go for it. Check how it was imported and came through a reputable importer who did all the work on making it good for UK roads and to be honest its no different to any other car UK or otherwise. Just note that imports have a number of different specs, they are not just GT and non GT so check each on their individual specs. The insurance thing is a myth, I have owned an imported Celica GT4 and an imported R33 Skyline and both when I was getting them insured and chatting with the specialist insurers said the difference was negligible and made no difference for me getting it insured - maybe if you go via Elephant dot crap or something like that, but use a specialist and they will look after you. Parts wise it will be the same parts, you can replace like for like the forum has a shed load of traders here who can help out. Dont be worried about taking a list along with you to view the cars, you are the guy spending the money, dont be ashamed to be thorough, its nothing personal against the seller to go over it with a fine tooth comb! When I bought my Celica I took a notebook with a whole list of stuff and literally ticked it off as I went along. The guy seemed to appreciate that I was a genuine buyer and had done my research.
  5. My tried and trusted Gyeon Bathe+ is coming to the end of its bottle, I chucked another into my shopping cart but did a quick google before checking out to see what competitors are out there and came across the Angelwax range in particular the Si02 Enigma Shampoo https://angelwax.com/enigma-ceramic-infused-shampoo/ - has anyone tried this out? Any views? There seems to be a shortage of decent reviews online and nothing on Detailingworld I could find.
  6. SOP (Save Our Petrolheads) Apologies if I am late to the party on this, with Porsche getting in on the act. But an interesting read. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/technology-news/under-skin-synthetic-fuels-now-make-more-sense-ever EVs, yes good if you want a car to pop to the shops, have your own driveway to charge it, and dont mind paying a massive premium to get something equivalent to say a Ford Focus. But for having a sports car, the theatre, excitement and noise that comes with it, potentially could retrospectively change government thinking (which is just a load of crap anyway as usual picking random numbers out the air).
  7. Done a few road trips with Stu in his stubaru and his was pretty nippy enough on the B roads, faster than me, but Im slow as **** so no real comparison I think a used price of £10k is a pretty good deal for the first gen, at £30k for that hideous looking thing above that doesnt give you both the grunt and the driving dynamics (when it quite clearly could!) seems a bit of a wrong 'un to me.

  10. A little bit of fabric vinyl on the sill cover...I think I like it! Adds to the comfy welcoming feel of the cockpit. Anyway a before and after pic after lots of blood sweat tears swearing and £££ Retrimmed seats and door cards Alcantara lined roof Handbrake and gear leather gaiters Elise handbrake handle Momo Air gear knob and carbon gear stick shaft Full carpet set Retrimmed steering wheel Black alcantara dash covering Alpine head unit and JBL speakers Plastidip dash plates Smart car rear view mirror! Fabric wrapped sill cover I do have a new set of switches coming this week which are to the right of the steering wheel.
  11. Most likely sold the plate. But I am not sure what the new plate would be.
  12. C5UPE has vanished from the database. No idea what happened to it. I did find my old Skyline and it has had 60k miles out on it in the 2 years after purchase! Then SORN’d ever since. I did see it on the cover of a Euro trip company so I think it was being used extensively for touring Europe hence the miles, quite proud of her for that!
  13. Yeah his videos generally are 20% walking around the show and the other 80% of the video showing exits from meets. The at meet bit really isnt what he is about if you want actual content. I first saw him covering Japfest or one of the Japanese meets, now though he spends far too much time at the chavvy events watching sh1tboxes being driven by muppets going sideways on public roads within metres of the general public, and cheering them on. Not on in my opinion, and when they see him videoing, it just encourages them.
  14. Yes for many marques its been done to death too - surprisingly few VX220 how to do videos though, I wish I had made some content when doing all my work on the car. I put a short video of me revving my old VX220 NA with the VSE exhaust on you tube a few years ago because someone on a forum wanted to hear it. I forgot about the video, until the other day when it was quoted on Facebook. I checked the video and it has had 3.5k views
  15. Finally some good weather on the horizon, so a chance to give the old girl a good polish and wax
  16. My U.K. VX220 has electronic records on an app I use going back to 2008. My old Celica and Skyline were imports, the Celica had a new facia on the clocks which made the needle read mph not kph. The Skyline had the tech done to it at import, so the mileage was a mix of km and miles. If you go to some popular import company sites they explain what they do to make the cars legal, places like Torque GT etc
  17. Meant to be a cracking car, although I preferred the Japanese front end
  18. He built up a YT channel based on filming car meet exits. I’m on the fence with him really, as he appears to be a proper car enthusiast but still cheers and encourages chav behaviour at car meets (obviously as his channel will get clicks if he films cars going sideways on public roads)
  19. Was clearing through some car photos earlier and came across a pic of my old VX220, and noticed just how good the OEM wheels look on it. In a world where aftermarket wheels are almost a given you will still see a fair few NA VX220s around with the original wheels, because I think the manufacturer got it pretty spot on. Got me thinking, what OEM wheels do you think look too good to change? In terms of your every day affordable car, rather than Ferraris and Lambos of this world.
  20. There are a load for sale on ebay
  21. Nooooo, dude if you get the wrong springs and ruin the ride you wont give a jot what colour they are Do bear in mind what just replacing springs can do to your car (not teaching you to suck eggs by any means) have a read here where the photos above came from https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-suspension/300769-base-350z-on-skunk2-lowering-springs-write-up.html
  22. Genuinely gutted, just one of those people that always came across as just so happy to be alive and lived it to the max.
