  1. Hi all, I've always been curious about what the most economical speed is for the 350z. I've heard a few people say its between 55/60mph but I'm guessing that finding is based on a smaller engine which will rev higher than a 350z at that speed (in the highest gear). Seeing as the 350z has a 3.5 litre engine with 6th gear revving at 2k at 60mph, has anyone ever discovered the most efficient speed to burn the least fuel?
  2. Thanks for making me laugh!!! I had a brief look when it happened, I shall thoroughly check when I get home - Just too scared to check right now!!! Would the number plate and surround be enough to protect the bumper from misaligning/deforming? Just can't believe it!!!
  3. At work I park my front bumper close to the work brick wall, normally I get it just right (about a few inches away from the wall). This morning I was in my own world and I edged close to the wall. I completely misjudged the distance and edged even closer (this time I used slightly excessive gas by mistake) and CRUNCH!!! I just went into a 30 foot high brick wall!! The car bounced back and didn't sound good at all...I just sat there and couldn't believe what I had just done! I haven't checked if any damage has been caused (too scared to check!). I have gathered the number plate and the black surround/holder is what hit the wall and not the actual bumper. I hope I haven't damaged her....
  4. If you look carefully at the water temp gauge, you will see a very small dot/line right next to the circle the needle is attached to. At normal operating temp, the needle sits exactly on/just blow that mark.
  5. Hi all, Thanks for your replies! Now that it's began to warm up (approx 10 degrees), the noise is still happening. On Friday I was driving at a high RPM (around 4k) and depressed the clutch and let go again so the revs dropped to idle point and catched back onto the initial 4k revs and I heard the loud squeal from the belts. Is there anything else I should check? It definitely sounds like my belt as I've known people with bangers that suffered from the same noise.
  6. My Zed is a daily commuter from Leicester to Hinckley. It is 36 miles in total to work and back each day and costs me £50 of V-power fuel a week just for work (that's £10 a day and total weekly mileage of 180). If I was to divide £50 by my weekly commuting mileage of 180, I get a figure of 27 pence per mile. Currently my MPG is reading at 24.2mpg. Weirdly, my weekly V-power fuel bill remains at circa £50 regardless if I drive hard or economically...
  7. He's got a grit guard in his bucket though, half a job well done!

  9. I think I've done that... I have an imprint of my (then) Ferodo DC2500 pads on my front DBA 5000 rotors How do I remove this imprint and will it effect my braking performance/life expectancy of the rotors. The pads have been replaced by EBC Yellowstuffs all round as the Ferodo's were too squealy and dusty. PS - Apologies to the OP for hi-jacking the thread!
  10. Really? I have no alternative though...?
  11. Hi all, As you're all aware, the snow is coming down thick and fast. My Zed is already covered in thick snow. I plan on going outside in a bit to remove the snow off my car, I don't want it piling up too much on her as it'll be difficult to remove tomorrow when I go to fill up and do my weekly shopping. Is it okay to just scrape the snow off with my hands (wearing gloves) or do I risk scratching the paintwork due to the snow rubbing against the paint? I appreciate your help guys Hassan
  12. Did the ducting make any noticeable difference?
  13. I will be following this thread as I am trying to find a solution without cutting a hole into my front bumper also. I was trying to source a longer pipe which can replace the stock pipe the pop charger is fitted to, that would bring the filter further away from the engine and closer to the front bumper. I have so far been unsuccessful...
  14. Hi all, Thought you may be able to help (hopefully!) When I start the car and the revs go up momentarily (normal), I hear a loud high pitched squeak noise which disappears as the revs drop and stabilise. I cannot work out if it's from the engine bay or from the rear This has been happening every time I start the car for the past few days. I would really appreciate it if somebody can please enlighten me Many Thanks, Hassan
  15. Where's the 'S2000 stubby replacing the flagpole' suggestion?
  16. Thanks mate, ill get on it. Is Castrol LM Grease okay to use? I've got a tub of it sitting in the garage...
  17. Why? How long has your 'relationship' been?
  18. I'm sorry but this is going to sound really dumb....can someone please show me a pic of exactly what to lubricate?
  19. Thanks all for your advice and suggestions. I will not be paying for this package, my employer will be. I am aware there are student and reached packages on offer and I'm certainly aware I am not eligible for that. The prices for the fully licensed package non-teacher/student one vary significantly too. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a cheap supplier?
  20. Thought I would share my happiness with the rest of you on this forum. Today is a special day as it's mine and my Zed's 1 year anniversary It has been an enjoyable 1 year of driving. I'm glad I chose this car Thanks to all of you who have helped me during the year to keep mine and the Zed's journey as enjoyable and trouble-free as it has been. Ironically, this is my 1000th post! Now that is what you call a coincidence...
