  1. Car looks lovely & clean mate. Spacers make such a difference! Agreed, white rays on Azure look great. Not that I'm bias or anything
  2. I've been working my way through Mythbusters on Netflix lately and spotted 2 Zeds this morning. Colour match for Keyser and Buster
  3. Cant comment on the rear seats, but I test drove the '86 last Christmas. Fantastic car, enough power to make you giggle and a very 'chuckable' car.
  4. Aaaah god damn it!! I can see me doing this now with the 2 hallway light switches!! I'll add this to list of checking the doors are locked, all switches are off etc!
  5. Yeah, fitted them 2-3 weeks back. Didn't bother with pics yet as I was waiting to put my summer wheels back on
  6. I think you've gone off on a tangent with that one so we'll cosine it to the trash can !!! These math jokes are soh bad
  7. Thanks guys We think oil starvation for the bottom end to go yep. The oil usage was most likely from the stems or piston rings
  8. High time I quickly updated this, even though there is the caravan chaser thread floating around somewhere too with Chris's pics Sunday afternoon we managed to remove the engine & gearbox from the car ready for some light stripping down, and rebuilding throughout the week. Hopefully all the new items will arrive in time for the re-assembly on Saturday. Everything went pretty smoothly and this is how we left up on Sunday evening Monday evening we whipped off the gearbox to check out the clutch condition, lucky we did as it wouldn't have many miles left!! So arriving tomorrow should be an Exedy Clutch kit and ultra lightweight CC Flywheel Last night I popped up the the Shed quickly to arrange some rust prevention. Now the engine was out I can see the surface rust all around the base of the engine bay and front sub frame. So attacked that with a wire wheel and give a quick coat of paint to remove any surface rust before it gets worse.
  9. Will keep you posted matey, but fingers crossed the new engine will hold and I'll be back on the road She used around 2-3L during the Europe trip, I think. But I just put that down to the car being used for 8-9 hours a day in high temperatures etc. Always planned to do a compression test once I got back but time went on and I never got around to it. Hmmm definitely not right as it's not even a revup engine is it? Mrs Busters Azure never used a drop of oil between services See if Chris will sneak round and pinch that block, done well over 100k but been very well looked after After stripping out my engine over the weekend there was a little bit of oil in and around the plenum too so Chris thinks the valve stem seals might be starting to go. Or at least I think thats what he said, I have learnt a LOT over the past few days so may be starting to forget what I learnt on Sunday
  10. Oh....my....days!!! Fancy a swap for a CarPC?.....I'll even install it for you FOC GLWTS sale, awesome rims, super rare! Should sell easy
  11. Hey Annie - hope you are enjoying life in the sun
  12. Oh my days that GTR is gorgeous!! GLWTS dude, hope you get the GTR soon
  13. Love this photo! Been on two euro trips. Location?? I've got a similar photo - this is the 'other' (west?) side of the mountain from Stelvio in Italy - and the road is even more fun to drive than it looks. Yup, great road indeed!! This was as we drove up from the bottom of that picture.

    Golf R32

Good call Will, will keep that in mind for my next car maybe, for now I'm keeping/fixing the Zed
  15. I thought there would've been more interest in the exhaust! Lovely bit of kit and very rare. I still giggle at the weight of these systems, we took my mid pipe off yesterday during the engine change and the mid pipe can be lifted and balanced on one finger! Crazy

    Golf R32

I've always been a fan of the r32's. I do keep looking at them (more so lately), but it is a lot of money for 'a golf'. Saying that there is one that drives past me as I walk to work some days and the noise is wonderful
  17. Saw this video on my FB the other day, most amusing
  18. I'll have a set of crystal front reflectors up for sale in a week or 2 dude if you can wait
  19. Was a fun afternoon (well, as fun as it can be ripping an engine out if your own car!). Car now looks pretty sorry for herself sat in the corner. Onwards and upwards! bring on the caravans
  20. I wouldnt say mine had an 'awful racket', but on start up there was a rattle for 1-3 seconds. I think it was caused by the timing chain being slightly loose, and the few seconds of rattle are before the tensioners come up to pressure.
  21. That looks really good. I love mods that still have an OEM look to them
  22. Yah Buster was NOT a happy chappy when he left the Shed last night good works guys.
