  1. Genuine Nissan ones as supplied by Alex don't need any cuts to the connectors. Went straight on to my DE. Pete
  2. On U.K cars they are a straight swap, 10 minute job . Not too sure about JDM imports though, have a feeling the plugs are different and need a bit of modding. Pete
  3. Yep, I paid £16.5k for my house some 38 years ago and it's valued at £225k now. Sounds great, but if I wanted to move to a house worth £20k back in 1978 that'd be worth £250 to £270k today. The thing is that house prices don't go up at a linear rate. In the first 2 years mine went up 25% then it leveled out for many years with another large spike in the mid 1990's and a bit of a slump around 2008 but the general trend is up. Won't do me much good though . Pete
  4. You can't fit a boxed 36" TV into the boot but take it out of the box and voila, just fits ! You can fit a boxed 36" TV on the passenger seat if you don't want to unbox it outside the shop though, takes a bit of effort, wriggling about and getting the seat into the right position. We use our roadster for bringing home large items, just need to take the roof down first . Pete
  5. Nope, I don't press the like button that often, maybe 5 to 10 times a week and I think one of the 2 "likes" was probably the first I've ever given to that member. Pete
  6. The last couple of posts I've liked throws up an error message something like "There was a problem storing your reputation post" Pete
  7. Sounds like the covers are stuck, try gently prising them out and give the mechanism a good clean. Back in 2010 the ones on Caroline's Zed got pushed out in really cold weather and accumulated loads of dirt, mainly grit inside the cover and wouldn't go back in once the weather warmed up, I just jet hosed them and that sorted it. Pete
  8. Capri 2.8i was much worse than the Zed but the Fiat X1/9 was downright dangerous. You'd think that with only 80 or 90 horses and plenty of weight at the rear it'd be fairly tame but I once spun leaving work and had another 3 half spins on the way home . Zed ain't great in the snow though especially if there's more than a couple of inches on the ground. Pete
  9. To be fair, most dealers haven't got any idea there are 3 different versions of the 350Z, even main Nissan dealers, 99.999% of the general public and even many potential buyers won't have a clue. It's clearly an Irish import and despite the fact it was most likely built in 2006 (or even possibly in early 2007) it'll always be a 2009 car and one of the last 350's to be registered in The U.K and it's in a pretty rare colour too Pete
  10. I was in Wrexham on Tuesday at the Hospital, in fact I've been there quite a few times in the last couple of months. Not seen any other Zeds though although I've spotted quite a few in Deeside, Chester, Buckley and Mold recently. Pete
  11. If you have an HR they can run on 95 RON, definitely not recommended long term, but if you keep the revs down to say 5k then all should be fine. If you have a late registered DE then.......just take it real easy Pete
  12. Sadly, I'll be like 97 in 30 years time ... Pete
  13. I had my RS Turbo 11.5 years, the next longest I had a car was 3 years 10 months. Pete
  14. Very nice and pretty unusual, I only know of one other yellow import and the registration on that one also started with HX which is probably just a coincidence. Pete
  15. Doesn't seem like 10 years but the calendar doesn't lie . I always intended to keep her for a long time, but never imagined that it'd stretch to 10 years....and beyond. Pete
  16. Seeing as the facelift headlight washer covers are different to the prefacelift ones I'd be concerned that the old style ones had been removed from the damaged bumper and glued on which looks to be the case for the reflectors. Also, can't say for sure but is the front chin spoiler missing? Pete
  17. Hell of a job fitting a Facelift bumper onto a pre-facelift apparently , makes you wonder..... Pete
  18. Not a worry, it's just the way some people are. Mate of mine used to move house just as soon as he'd got it exactly how he wanted it and it wasn't for monetary gain either, I think after fees and that he just about broke even. BTW, he was exactly the same with his cars Anyway, it's a cracking car Pete
  19. The demise of Manor drops the grid to 20 cars, back to 2009 numbers. I would prefer to see some major manufacturers come in and now that Bernie has gone this may be possible in 4 or 5 years time. There are other options that could be considered, like 3 car teams (BRM ran 5 cars in the 70's) or/and scrap the rule that teams have to run 2 cars. I've been an avid fan of F1 after I attended my first race in 1971, hardly missed a race since every race was televised live back in the 80's but I've pretty well stopped watching qualifying unless its raining because its become so predictable. Can't say I'm getting excited about the 2017 season, I'll probably give a few races a miss this year, especially those that start early in the morning. Pete
  20. That depends, super computers aren't cheap and most projects are run either by individuals or by universities. Folding@home for example is run from Stanford University in California and has several hundred thousands of contributors, Asteroids@Home is run from Warsaw University. For most projects there is no profit motive, like finding Prime numbers for example but in general "for profit" projects are not that well supported by home users. Pete
  21. I worked for an American company. We used to get a Christmas bonus which usually worked out at 10% of your salary, we also got a Christmas Hamper and on the day after Whit Monday we had a family day out which was paid for by the company and we went to Alton Towers (several times), York, Chester Zoo, Blackpool, etc. Transport and meals provided The year after I retired we went on a day long cruise into The Irish Sea on one of The Mersey Ferries. Retirees didn't get the bonus but got the hamper and family day. Shift workers who were working on Family Day got a day off to take when they pleased. Never got a thing when I worked for British Steel. Pete
  22. Basically, scientific research like finding cures for diseases, finding prime numbers, finding aliens , cracking codes and lots lots more. It's good fun, I've been doing various projects since 2003. Pete
  23. Funnily enough I went on Photobucket last night to retrieve a couple of old photos. Slow as hell, but then again I only have a 2.5mb connection so its always been slow. Pete
  24. Just curious, but does anyone on here do any Distributed Computing like Folding@Home, Seti@Home, etc. Pete
