  1. Yeah, goes to show what good value the Zed is, the £'s graph takes a steep curve upwards to get anything better. 911's are fantastic cars the only problem is the constant waving you have to do . Pete

    My new 350Z

Nice clean example you've got there Pete
  3. Yeah, there was a Master Bates too (really) Pete
  4. I think Audi must send their salesmen to Germany for training in Arrogance and Superiority :lol Pete
  5. Actually, the Mustang is interesting, very interesting . I've never followed the flow, always gone for something different even if isn't always the smartest thing. Went for a GT6 when everyone else went for MGB GT's, always picked the underdog, Ford Capri 2.8i, Celica T-Sport, Sunbeam Stiletto. Nothing against BMW or Audi, good cars, far too sensible for me though . Pete
  6. Nooooooo......take the queensferry bypass instead and to the audi garage on cheshire oaks ....its longer but quicker! That's the same crew that ran Audi Sealand Road (next door to BMW), they were incredibly dismissive towards me when I enquired about A TT a few years ago. "We can sell as many as we want, don't need your business, 3-6 months wait, might not be the colour you want, no discount for cash, blah, blah ,blah ", put me off Audi big time, in fact sadly I got pretty much the same response from Hartwell Nissan. At least BMW actually had some cars to sell when we bought the Z4. Pete
  7. Sorry, I find them both bland and uninspiring. BMW dealership is closer so I'll go for that one . Pete
  8. A big congrats from me, there's nothing better in the world . Pete
  9. Congrats on your purchase, nice virgin example Pete
  10. They're all excellent No's 3 and 5 are my favourites though! Pete
  11. I agree, mines just for fun .. no commuting or anything yet I still seem to watch the guage like a hawk and worry about it blah blah... I think I'm going to stick a nice big sticker over the fuel guage so I can't see it and drive until the fuel light comes on then fill up The Celica T-Sport I had, a mere 1800 cc only got 3mpg more than the Zed. I've been pleasantly surprised by fuel consumption, much better than The 2.8i Capri I had in the 80's Pete

    z33 = 350z?

It's all gone very quiet on the 450Z front, if it ever existed at all . Pete
  13. Caroline's round trip to work is 9 miles a day, about 3 of those are in heavy traffic and most of the rest on a dual carriageway. She averages 21.6 mpg, doing the same journey in a 2.0 Z4 she got 27.0mpg. I've managed 26.9mpg in my Zed since the computer was reset 3,000+ miles ago. For me, that's just normal driving, a bit of everything thrown in. Pete

    peugeot RCZ

Saw my first one a few days ago, not a bad looking machine but it'll get classed as either an upmarket Tigra or a poor man's TT. I think I see some Mitsubishi Eclipse in there too Pete
  15. Yeah, the upgraded model went on sale in April 2006. Can't say for sure but there are possibly a handful of 295 models that went to dealers, motoring journalists, Nissan executives and were registered before March 23rd. Don't be put off by the 276 model, I've got one and my wife has a 313 roadster and its difficult to tell the difference to be honest. I'm not sure about this, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the facelift models weigh a bit more than the 2002-2006 versions so the extra power makes little difference to the overall performance. Pete
  16. It's a good idea!! and welcome. Pete
  17. Just wish I'd have taken some photos of the interiors of my old cars . I guess the majority of members will never have seen a setup like that, only one stalk, lights and washers on the dash I'd forgotten just how basic they were, having said that, they were hundreds of pounds cheaper than competitors cars and you didn't have to take them in to be fixed every few weeks . I honestly believe that the Cherry and Sunny together with the Corolla signalled the beginning of the end for British Leyland and The Rootes group (Hillman, Sunbeam, etc), customers were sick to death of poor unreliable designs. I owned a total of 5 Cherries between 1977 and 1984 including a 1200 fastback which was pretty cool. Good luck with the restoration hope to see it around here soon . Pete
  18. Used to use Silica Gell in one or two spots in the house to combat condensation. It lasts several months and changes colour when it gets saturated. There are several commercially available alternatives mainly for use in RV's and caravans which are left standing during winter months when condensation is at its worst. I've looked into these but they're not as versatile as Silica Gell ,take up a lot of space, have a shorter life and are quite expensive too. Pete
  19. Looks stunning, congrats on the puchase, I'm sure I won't have any problem spotting you. Pete
  20. Yeah, but they're great for driving round town and giving your kids a lift to school (isn't that what they're for) Pete
