  1. it will also be the higher tax bracket so 450 a year in road tax It's a lot to pay for the hump in the bonnet and cup holders in the door. the 300bhp model also has these extra's it was the facelift model in 06 that had them originally I'm pretty sure the bulge was first seen on the 07 models. Anyway, we paid 17.9k in October for an 08 GT Roadster in GM with 7k on the clock. We got 14.1k for the 2.0 Z4 that we traded in. Pete
  2. Well, if I had a spare million lying around I certainly wouldn't be driving a Zed. Pete

    My new Zed

I've seen that Zed reg before, either a photo on here or in the flesh, can't remember which . Nice photos, look they were taken in the summer . Pete
  4. Hardly been above freezing here for over a week. Driver door was frozen solid yesterday morning. I'm not seeing the very low temperatures that other parts of the country are getting but the couple of inches of snow we had has now turned into one great sheet of ice.....and its only early December Pete

    Rear Tyres

I'm in the same boat at the moment. Looking at the wear rate I've got 1,000-1500 miles left on the rears and maybe 5-6000 on the fronts. I got a price from the local fitters and to replace the original Bridgestone rears, like for like, would be £320, to replace all 4 tyres with Falkens would be in the region of £460. I've mixed tyres in the past (on cars with much less power) but on this occasion I'm going to fit the Falkens all round, I'm sure that's the best and safest option. Pete
  11. Everyone will have different ideas but if you like touring then there's no better place than The South West of The U.S.A. We've been for a month on two occasions, we stayed in Motels in the past but in the last few years we decided to rent an RV, it actually works out cheaper. Approx costs would be £2,000 for RV rental, £1,200 for flights, £800 for fuel and £600 for food, I think we took 5k with us and came back with about 500 pounds to the total cost was approx £5700. There's just so much to see, we covered areas like The Badlands in S.Dakota, Yellowstone in Wyoming and favourites like The Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Mount Rushmore, Death Valley, Devils Tower...etc. The best time to go is in May/June or September, July and August are incredibly hot and also more expensive. As I say though its not for everyone but if you want to see the most amazing scenery in the world that's the place to go Here's the RV we rented This is the best way to do it though Pete
  12. It's been sold for 7.5k, that went quickly! Pete
  13. This has been on the cards for some time. There has been pressure on The FIA to do 2 things, first off being the need to cut costs. Secondly, some current, new and old manufacturers have expressed an interest in F1 as purely engine suppliers. For example you can definitely expect VW to produce and engine and its possible that Toyota, Honda and BMW will return. Among others showing interest are Hyundai and Mitsubishi. Turbo engines cost a fraction of normally aspirated engines to build and develop, the last time there were Turbos in F1, BMW developed their engine from a road car. I haven't read the actual regs yet, going to do that in a minute, but I'd imagine there'll be some kind of boost limit so the engines should all be fairly even. At the moment I'm undecided as to whether this is a good or bad thing, need more info. Pete
  14. Looks good, great wheels Pete
  15. I have a weather station and it showed a minimum of -7.0 last night. Right now its at -1.2 and rising. I believe some areas in The Scottish Highlands had a maximum of -10 yesterday Pete
  16. Yeah, avalanches off sloping roofs are one thing but flat roofs are only designed to withstand 2 feet of snow and are liable to sudden collapse. Saw a good documentary about Yellowstone Park where they employ people to clear snow off Summer Chalets roofs. These have a slight slope on them and I think they never allow more than 30 inches to accumulate, some houses in Scotland and The North East must be easily up to this now Pete
  17. Welcome, I await your next post with great interest Pete
  18. I'm sorry to hear that, just bloody bad luck. I feel bad because it's something I should have warned everyone about, had a similar thing myself years ago, just missed luckily.Maybe we need these, spotted them in Cooke, Montana. Pete
