  1. They went on sale in The U.K in April 2006. Chances of finding an earlier one, say for example one that went to a magazine for road testing are almost nil I would have thought. Pete
  2. Fantastic photos of an amazing Zed. Pete

    Alfa 8C

Stunning styling. Lucky for Americans that they don't need a front plate though. Pete
  4. Yeah, you could be right, when we first started it up it blew out lots of condensation, the amount you would expect on a cold winters morning, salesman said it had been standing "for a few days", yeah right. To be honest I need to drive the car a bit more to understand it ,a few thousand miles should do it Cheers, Pete
  5. Took the roadster out to get a few things from the supermarket. A bit alarmed to see the computer reading 21.6 mpg, I'm hoping the last owner did a lot of town driving!! Car originated in Chelmsford so I'm guessing MPG will be better here in rural Wales. Main difference I noticed was lack of torque, came to a double filter junction at 65 in top and when I put my foot down to slot in..nothing much happened. Other than that, only minor differences that you'd get in any 2 cars of the same model. Just like my coupe it has a clunky first to second gear change, not as noticeable but definitely there. Sounds a bit sweeter than mine, especially with the top down Buzzed it up to 85 briefly and it felt rock solid, no vibrations, best thing was though it definitely drew more admiring glances Pete
  6. Will, We're planning on taking both the cars to the meets, and if the weathers O.K then she should be fine for the drive...now she has a SatNav . Cheers, Pete
  7. Both, for sure . Probably stop at two Cheers, I'll order another set, can only find the one. Working on it!! Will do, give ma couple of weeks but she has the faster zed!!! eaaaaasy I'm used to it. Caroline had an MR2 Turbo when I had a Daewoo Lanos Interesting thing is that my key fob locks and unlocks both cars, Caroline's only works on her car, very odd. I'll be going over the car in detail in the morning and maybe I'll take it for a spin Cheers, Pete
  8. Hi Stan, there was one that was owned by the manager of DFS. According to my daughter who does some work for them, he's now a Salesman at Toyota in Queensferry, Im guessing he doesn't have it now . Oh, yeah, almost forgot, I was parked next to an Infinity on an 02 plate today by Currys. The owner had removed all the badges apart from the Nissan badge on the grill. I guessed it was an Infinity but I had to look it up when I got home Pete
  9. Both on the Greyhound Park. First one was a nice looking black one outside Comet, the other was an immaculate grey , queueing up at McDonalds. Pete
  10. Congrats on your purchase. I had a 190 T-Sport before the Zed, good car, if you liked that then you'll love the 350Z Pete
  11. I was only popping into the main dealers to organise a service when I spotted this roadster on the forecourt, an hour later and after much haggling we reached a deal to trade in her 2008 Z4 2.0L plus 4K. Just driven it around Chester and my wife drove it home...lovely car with the GT pack and Nissan SatNav, only 7k on the clock with FSH. Alongside my coupe Pete
  12. Devastating news. I can't imagine what the two families are feeling at the moment, so young too, isn't life is just so, so unfair. RIP Ian. Pete
  13. Couldn't persuade Caroline to go camping so I've booked Friday and Saturday in the hotel. Caroline made the booking and the guy told her he'd already had 5 club bookings today and took "a few" yesterday. There's still room available at the moment but it looks like it's going quickly! Pete
  14. That one is the most dramatic photo of the weekend so far..I love it Keep 'em coming!! Pete
  15. That's quite amazing really, I guess living in Ledbury would contribute to keeping the cost down? My insurance company Axa won't allow anyone under 30 to drive mine...BTW, I'm 61 have a clean license and max no claims and pay £484 with a Chester postcode. Pete
  16. I'm pretty sure there are members here under the age of 25 with Zed's, or who had Zed's before they were 25. No idea what they pay but I'm sure one of them will be along with some info for you soon. Good luck with your search and welcome to the forum Pete
  17. Yeah, the one of yours looks like a publicity photo...great photos Liam EDIT...That one of Shire's is exceptional too..probably missing something here, but does his number plate fold away or something Pete
  18. Well, you use most fuel when its stone cold so keep your revs down for the first few miles..3 or 4 should do it. Keep your distance from the vehicle in front of you so that your not constantly slowing down and accelerating...saves on brake wear too. I'm a fairly gentle driver and change at about 3,500 rpm most times. Avoid being goaded by TT, Evo, Subaru, etc owners and most of all Boy Racers, just smile and let them get on with it remembering that you're in a better car. Switch off your engine if you're stuck in a queue that's not going to be moving for a while. On Motorways, set your cruise control to 70 or just above. Another one is to try and anticipate traffic lights, rather than roar up them when they are on red, ease back a bit, give them time to change. There are other ways, many of them , that I've used in the distant past to get me home when I was critically short of petrol.. Unfortunately, even adapting all these measures is only going to give you maybe 30 mpg over a 12 month period...and it's pretty difficult to be in constant fuel saving mode for more than a couple of days Pete
  19. A couple more from the archives. This one was taken at my parents in 1970 and was my first brand new car. I've moved up in the world by 1972 . Here's my Mk4 Spitfire. I may as well tag these on. Here's my first Datsun pictured in Germany, unfortunately this is the only pic I have of this one. Not much to say about it really, except I remember seeing it about 10 years after I sold it. This was another one I had, 2 tone limited edition And finally for now here's something different. This car would have been interesting with 150 bhp but Fiat decided to put a weedy 84 bhp 1500cc engine in it. Handled like a go cart...unless it was snowing when it became an out of control missile, I spun it 5 times in one night on my way home from work in the snow . The build quality made a Marina look like a Lexus, the door handle came off in my hand when someone came round to test drive it . I don't think Fiat bothered with anti corrosion, the door had sprouted several nasty rusty areas after 12 months. Rubbish really, I was glad to get rid of it after just over a year. Pete

    New car

Probably have to pay the full road tax as well. "Only" £245 if reg'd before 03/2006. Pete
  21. JetSet

    New car

Probly a late 2005 that sat around for a while before it was registered.... I'll take guess that the car was ordered late 2005 (there was a 2-3 month waiting list in those days) and arrived in Jan or Feb 2006 and the owner decided to delay registration to get it on an 06 plate, that's what I'd have done . Pete
  22. I had some fun with this one I can tell you Taken in 1972.... Taken a year earlier in Snowdonia. Pete
  23. I was in the main Nissan dealer in Chester today (more of which later ) and they were absolutely snowed under with people looking at the Juke. They took at least 2 orders. possibly 3 in the half hour I was there! Had a quick look to see what the fuss was..not bad, but not for me. Pete
  24. Can you add me to the list please Now where did I put that tent? Thanks, Pete
