  1. Interesting to see the difference at various speeds but personally I haven't got that time too spare and would rather drive that bit faster and get wherever I'm going quicker. I wouldn't do 50 mph on the motorway as that's far too slow but obviously B roads and dual carriage ways might be okay.
  2. I'll be doing a trip to Amsterdam in my zed this summer, been a few times before and personally prefer driving than a boring flight.
  3. Well I've had a good look around and found some unbelievable prices on Oponeo (definitely compare them if you're about to get some new rubber)... probably will give the FK453s a try as seem very good value especially if there are better than the FK452s. http://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre-details/falken-fk-453-275-35-r19-100-y-xl#83630826
  4. I'm kinda glad my Zed is parked off the road Haha doing 20-25mph my arse!
  5. Just one of those things when driving a nice looking sporty car like the Zed...I get similar incidents but just ignore twats like that.
  6. I can imagine!! I drove my brothers new M4 a couple of weeks ago which had Michelin Super Sports and they felt fantastic - they would need to be to handle that much torque!
  7. Yes over 100 years of age is some going.. RIP
  8. Thanks guys I may look into the FK453s all round eventually, I notice that even though I have 275 wide rubber at the rear with the FK452s it can still wheelspin from stationary if you really go for it, I want tyres with more ultimate grip. I'm also maybe considering the Goodyear F1 and Michelin Plot Sport 2.
  9. Yep to be honest I'm shocked you can get it for that price in that size!! At the garage this morning they quoted me £180 for their cheapest brand (not sure what it was) but they never had any in stock anyway so I will order from that link.
  10. Haha yeah I remember Fallen (or Fallon) from Dallas sorry for the typo That link looks great so much cheaper than others I've seen, may just order 2 for the rear as not a huge amount of tread left anyway.
  11. Yep it's annoying they are discontinued some say the replacement FK453 wasn't as good
  12. Thanks for the link I know they are harder to find now. Just wondering if the rim protectors on that are different to the originals? Will it look the same all round?
  13. Hi guys this morning I discovered my right rear tyre has a puncture on the sidewall which annoyingly can't be repaired. I need it in a 275 35 ZR19 size?
  14. I'd say it is worth it, but if you are after huge number gains for the least outlay get something like a Golf GTI/R with something like a Revo remap. I got 257 HP at the wheels (approx 295 HP at the fly?) from my Abbey UpRev which I thought was good for a 04 DE Zed, probably only cuts a tenth or two to 60 at most though (even accounting for the weight reduction from Stock Cat / Exhaust to HFC/Stainless Exhaust system). You could look on it another way as a measure to restore lost horse power from your Zed, a lot of people think they have manufacturer horse power from a 10 year old car, it's probably lost a horse a year at least to start with.
  15. Or the other cars aren't ragging there tits off. I've beaten a 'insert faster car here' in a straight before which is meant to be quicker, although, he didn't know it was a race and wasn't trying, but I still won. True it could be that or they are in the wrong gear.. I never felt it's slow although I haven't had the pleasure of driving cars much faster than the zed Turbo lag disappeared in the 90's, all the modern units Ive driven are lag free Not so, my dad's E class merc (2007 320CDI) has massive lag, you can put your foot all the way down on the accelerator quickly and take it off, and it doesn't even register it!! Depends on the car probably. Sergio Aguero drives a 350z!!!! Sorry, but I do feel sorry for you gearbox & clutch Thanks for that I don't rag it that much really. It's just swift fast changes, no dilly dallying, and I definitely don't clash gears!
  16. OEM exhaust is quite restrictive, especially the bore size of the piping. HFCs and a decent flow exhaust will give decent power returns as mentioned above, not too mention it would be lighter than the mild steel used in the OEM exhaust.
  17. The main thing about the Zed is that the N/A engine gives a linear power delivery, unlike Turbo's which give a 'boost' through the power delivery. On the plus side there's no turbo lag so I still don't think the Zed is slow in a straight line, I have kept up with many cars which on paper should be a little quicker, but I am ruthless with the gear shifts.
  18. The s2000 just looks too much of a girls car to me (and it actually was in 2 Fast 2 Furious!), the Z is much more masculine and better looking car to my eyes.
  19. Anything 258+ is good (Mainly because that is what I got, mine was pretty low ) With the usual supporting free breathing mods yes but if it's just a pop charger (which is known to rob a horse or two) and a K1 I would expect less than 258 at the wheels
  20. i've got an 04 DE too and I got 257 HP at the hubs after an Uprev remap with full Milltek exhaust, Motordyne Plenum Spacer, Berk HFCs and HKS panel filter at Abbey MS which I think was pretty good. Unfortunately never dyno'd the car before all the mods were done but I would guestimate I gained about 25 HP overall and the flywheel HP is about 290-295ish HP. Factor in your zed probably loses a horse or two a year and I feel quite happy with that.
  21. Mondeo Blue???? Come on. http:// It looks good mate but I think it also depends on what colour cars you have had to live with previously. Some people will choose their favourite colour for every car they buy, others will get fed up and change. In my family my dad has had 2 cars in succession which were a dark blue colour which we had for about a decade, so I think that is the reason. Weirdly blue is actually one of my favourite colours in the real world (just not for cars for awhile!). For me lighter metallic colours make the wheel arches and those curve/lines really stand out compared to say dark colours (or even the polar opposite white).
  22. Azure blue = Ford mondeo-ish blue to me I don't think it's a terrible colour at all, but I am surprised a lot of people think it's the best. Colour is a very personal thing. Gun metal was the colour of choice for me - it is the James Bond kind of colour.. and I love the way the colour changes depending on sun light / sky colour. Sometimes it has a greenish hint rather than blue on a cloudy day - lovely colour. But I caught a glimpse of a austin yellow BMW M4 today and have to say I'd love that on my Zed:
  23. Better need some of this then, costs are mounting up (hate it when it's all at once lol): I'd look at seeing Kaizer Motors as it's based in Kent .
