  1. Mats sold. Cash received. Speedy sale Thanks
  2. Hi I was at my local dealers for an oil filter etc when I was offered a set of 350z floor mats with the stitched 350z logo and locating holes. I actually bought 3 sets in the end. I have one set surplus to requirements so here they are: New from Nissan dealer, still on hanger, still in plastic bag, pictured with original receipt showing rrp of nearly £70. £45 delivered Cash, paypal, cheque accepted Thanks
  3. By all means, drive the ring on the PS3 and learn it like the back of your virtual hand but do not think you know the place in real life. Get over there and do a couple of laps then you will understand I am thinking of hitching the bike trailer up and taking the GSXR across again for some knee down action in the near future, now that is scary!
  4. Sheesh... You cant even have some banter on the forum theses days. I blame the mods
  5. NeilP- If the current forum is not to your taste, why not set your own forum up? You could be the top leader/mod/ganstarapper of scotishzeds.com
  6. I am available for a Zed only room at the Nurburgring. (GT5) Tonight 8pm? List of racers interested: Trackpig
  7. 8 years of working in a Nissan car plant means Ive got all kinds of geeky info
  8. The paint dot is applied on top of the wheel lacquer. I have never tried to remove the paint dot but I would give an alloy wheel cleaner (wonder wheels for example) a go.
  9. The blue dot signifies the lightest (or the heaviest) part of the wheel. The red dot on the tyre does the same thing. In the factory, once the tyre is mounted on the rim, the wheel is rotated inside the tyre until the dots are lined up so the least amount of weights need to be added for balancing. The tyre is then inflated by blowing air down the edge of the tyre bead rather than inflating via the valve. This is done for speed. The wheel/ tyre can then be balanced.
  10. There are plenty of examples of that on here!
  11. To the op- I would at least have the clutch hydraulic fluid changed. I sat at the top of stelvio pass after I lost my clutch. Very scary at the time! It turned out to boiled fluid, the clutch action came back as the fluid cooled. I changed the fluid that night in the hotel car park in Davos. How long do you intend on keeping the car? Do you think you may want to do another euro tour? If you are going to put another 20k miles on the car and use it for tours then you are prob going to have to put a clutch on it at some point. Why not do it now and have peice of mind? edit to add: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=39640
  12. I had to change the driver side, side light, lamp. No way I could do it without removing arch liner. It does sound like a pain buts it's easy and straight forward really. Jack car up, wheel off, around 6 screws to remove so liner can be moved enough- the back of the headlight can be seen in all it's glory! Nice easy access.
  13. What is the benefit of an oil catch can? I take it that the oil from the crank case breather would normaly be taken back into the engine via the intake and burnt. Does the small amount of oil being burnt really effect engine performance?
  14. No problem. The Nissan wheel alignment settings for the 350z have quite wide tolerances (info taken from the service manual). The settings I have suggested are within the nissan recommended settings, just right up to the more sporting end of the range. The service manual uses mm to measure toe where alot of wheel alignment machines use degrees and minutes. When I had my car set up with my requested setting Ive mentioned, the alignment machine showed all settings as GREEN and therefore within recommended spec. Anyone can set their car to how they want it but all I can say is, the setting I have used work for me and in the situations I use my car.
  15. Why use language like "its very easy for people to spew out figures in the air" when people have taken the time to responsed in good faith to a question? You have only gone and suggested settings just like others have?
  16. Front: 0deg toe Camber is not adjustable on the front but -1.2deg per wheel is what you would like to see Rear 0.2deg total toe in (0.1deg each wheel) If you want best traction off the line then 0deg camber would be best. For all round grip -1.2 to -1.5 is where I would aim for. These setting would work road and track. You could go more extreme if you like p.s nice tyre choice!
  17. Why not look at coilovers if you want lower and stiffer? I run BC coilovers and find them to be great.
  18. There is a list of spring rates here: http://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-susp ... rates.html Would you care to share some figures from the 4PR rig comparing cars?
  19. I am with you on this one Andlid. I like to see the figures and know what parts/mods are doing the job rather than just blowing cash on every bit of kit out there. I did experiment with a IR temp gun but found it would not give an accurate measurement on the shiney disc surface. You could try these: http://temperature-indicators.co.uk/aca ... ators.html Cooling ducts are the way forward
  20. A dual mass fly wheel which is on its way out can be heard to make a knocking noise when the car is idling. Noise most apparent from inside the car in the transmission tunnel area.
  21. What can also happen during a debate is people coming in making all seeing observations about the population of a forum when it has no relevance to the thread. What is clear, is that its best to keep it on topic and cut the bullshit
  22. Crystal! I just dont see any fanboy style posts (in this thread anyway).
