  5. You drive a car which is fully road legal and registered. You are a law abiding citizen who wont have the time to fight the police. You are an easy target. Good luck, fight them all the way
  6. Mix it up a bit.......you fix he pays £100 You fail ......you pay £100. I am sure tho OP only want constructive posts on his thread. Please dont spoil this one Ricey
  7. The pads are tight in the caliper. Putting the disc on, fitting the wheel and tightening the wheel bolts clamps the disc against the pads even more. I have been here before. Tell you what, ho02pey90, I've told you how to fix it but how about I come round to your house- If I fix it, you give me £100. If I dont fix it, you pay nowt. Fair deal?
  8. ho02pey90 I have told you what the problem is and how to sort it on page 2. Do what I have said and it will work. Trust me.
  9. Op- I think your new pads are just tight in the calipers. Remove the pads from each caliper and use a hand file to remove the paint and a fraction of the backing plate where the edge of the backing plate of the pads slides in and touchs the caliper( the leading and trailing edge of the pad- not the friction material itself). Also make sure the caliper is free from debris in the same area. Once this is done the pads will be able to move in the caliper correctly. Reassemble and test that corner before moving to the next.
  10. I thought at this point, insults were to be dropped.
  11. Just to clarify, if I call a particular member an a$$Hole, would that get me in trouble? I dont think its right that you bring Ricey back into this, he has done nothing to you.
  12. May I ask why you feel sorry for the children I teach? I happen to be an excellent teacher and the pupils that are in my care enjoy being in my class. You have no basis for such a flippant comment - exactly the reason people disliked you post in the first post. I feel sorry for the kids in your class due to the way you have came across in this thread- aggressive and bullheaded. Lay off the Buckfast, it may ease your mood
  13. I standby all I have said. If people want to condone driving in a way which results in a crash then go ahead. If the OP feels that more speed will help in the situation then I fear what might happen if he meets another car in the road. Cragus- You list your occupation as a primary teacher. I feel sorry for the kids you teach. I must admit, I have enjoyed the thread
  14. Wow... you talk a great corner. So are you saying if you had been going faster, the car may have coped better? Take a step back. Walk before you can run. Yes. Yes I am. Thats not a difficult concept to understand or does your tiny little troll brain fail? Have you not concept of loads, balance and how a car works in a corner? God your a xxxx. What part of 'I hit some surface debris that negated traction' do you not get? If you hit something on the surface of the road that breaks your traction, tyre, driving style, abilities become moot points. Let me guess, you can powerslide road the nurbergring on ice in 3 minutes. Go troll another site. So you lost control of your car and crashed and you belive extra speed would of helped Thats real nice.
  15. your so cool. I think I might want to be him. You do but you cant. Just to clarify how cool you actually are, did it a) feel great because you had mixed tyres? feel great because you had just woken up from a good dream? c) feel great because you like being a passenger? d) feel great because you can talk yourself up on a forum because nobody likes you in real life. I cant tell you why it felt so great unless you have been there. I am not sure if you have been to the nurburgring but you seem like more of a PS3 man. This forum is full of great info but I feel some of the comments in this thread regarding mixed tyres being dangerous and some of the driving ideas from the OP are fairly outragous. I say it as I see it, if that gets some peoples backs up then so be it.
  16. your so cool. I think I might want to be him. You do but you cant.
  17. The relay in the amp gets a bad connection in my experence. Remove sub Remove amp from left hand of sub area (left hand side when work via driver door) disassemble the metal cover of amp Fit new circuit board or fit new relay OR use sticky pads ontop of the black relay to pack and apply pressure to the top of the relay when you build the cover back up. The applied pressure makes the poor connection and the amp work. This worked for me, it may not work for you but its worth a try.
  18. Wow... you talk a great corner. So are you saying if you had been going faster, the car may have coped better? Take a step back. Walk before you can run.
  19. I did a 8.46min lap of the nurburgring on mixed tyres. It felt great. Ive done many a mile on 452's in all conditions on the road and on trackdays. Perfectly acceptable tyres. If people cant drive on them, those people should not be on the road.
  20. The OP said the 040's were on the front. If they had slid, it would have resulted in understeer. The OP sais it was the the rear (with 452's) that slid which gave him the oversteer and resulted in the accident. I think we all agree, the accident wasnt down to the tyres but driver error but we have already covered that.
  21. Sorry boys but I have a clean license. Not trolling either, just saying it as I see it.
  22. Ive read the whole thread and its not me that needs the help. As ive said, I am sorry to hear you have damaged your car and I really want you to get it sorted in the best way possible. I just find it hard to read someone saying they are trained to a decent standard but then get a corner so wrong for so many reasons. Stay calm and stay safe.
  23. 2nd gear+ 30mph+ wet road+ tight corner+ rear wheel drive+ newb driver = potential problems. Maybe get some more training at work. I really feel sorry for you damaging the car but the fact you say you are trained to a decent standard means you really should know better. Ive sat in the back of a cop car and had the lecture so maybe cops should heed their own advice. Thats a bit rich considering that you dont know the level of available grip for the corner, the load the car was under, the balance that was in place at the time or the level or brake or throttle in use. Thanks for your criticism without full knowledge or understanding. Just completely skip the part where I mention that the 4x4 had traction issues on the same corner the following day if it helps your arguement go better. You gave it some throttle in second gear on a wet, tight corner and lost it. You should have anticipated the outcome of a lack of traction in the wet and the relativly large amount of torque available at 30mph in 2nd gear. learn from it. I find it strange that you then went back to the same corner the next day and drove in a manner which resulted in a loss of traction again. What are they teaching you at work? p.s I am all for having fun in a car but if you do want to do tight wet corners in 2nd gear, do it where there is some run off.
