  1. I like Top Gear specials but this was a little boring. I don't think it was making a mockery of the work that troops do out there at all. If anything it highlighted the issues and problems facing troops out there, okay we didn't see gun fire or anything like that but you gained a sense of tension that is evidently present in Iraq, let us not forget this a country with people trying to live 'normal' lives as well as the war torn parts.
  2. I can't say I've really done any proper meets with the Zed but I am missing driving it big time, roll on the end of January when I should be getting it back out!
  3. This might seem like a really random question but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. The council don't grit our road ever, it's a cul-de-sac, so the other night I was leaving in my car (bearing in mind it was nearly a week after the last snow fall) and the road was like an ice rink, doing 15mph round a slight bend the car went and slid straight into a curb so slowly I managed to have enough time to brace myself and straighten my wheels but alas my efforts were not rewarded. The rear alloy seemed to fall apart like it was brittle, a big 6 inch chunk fell off! When it bouned off the back wheel the front wheel hit the curb and bent the tie rod. Now where this all comes together is because I need to replace the parts as I'm without a car now. Does anyone know what the likley opening hours of motor factors are over the Christmas break? I tried to call GSF in the hope that they had an answer phone message to advise of the opening hours but they don't. By the way this was in my Audi and not my 370, Quattro did not save my ass in this instance!
  4. I thought for a second that was Chris Jones'! Nice Zed mate, welcome!
  5. I have around 260 'friends' on facebook, truth of the matter though I speak in person to my real mates and those people you see once in a while I speak to on facebook. Still, wish I invented it, that guy is pretty minted.
  6. Welcome mate, good to see another 40th added to the list and another one tucked away from the harsh weather
  7. Sky is a joke, there's bugger all on anyways and they wonder why piracy is such commonplace.
  8. I'm sorry but from reading that it's quite clear that the new owners have tried to exploit the ring for something it has never been and rightly so they've f*cked up, it ain't Abu Dhabi.
  9. Been offered 8 legs of venison for 40 quid, is that two deer?
  10. i think he was before the crash, when you watch the great retardedness that was the driving there. you're not wrong there!
  11. I'm (un)fortunate that I dont see with stereo vision, so its completely wasted on me. I do hope its a fad otherwise I cant go to the cinema any more depending on the system they use How does that work mate? Does it affect depth perception and things like that? I have to say I'm not a fan of 3D, it seems forced, I don't particularly like wearing those glasses in the cinema and it makes my eyes feel funny not sure if it's down to the fact that I wear contacts. I hope it dies a death, I just don't see the appeal at all, unless of course I owned the company that made the glasses and film companies charging extortionate fees for cinema tickets...
  12. It's amazing the kid survived. Although he's probably a sandwich or two short of a picnic now.
  13. Insurance is expensive because insurance companies are all businesses at the end of the day and the point of a business is to return a fat profit!
  14. that's amazing! Mate, I hope you get it sorted, it doesn't look like the end of the work so hopefully it can get fixed with minimal fuss
  15. Congrats mate don't worry good 370s will be about for a while to come!
  16. Or just don't speed Easier said than done, it's not like you have to rag the nuts off the 350 to get it over the speed limit without noticing
  17. That there is some sound advice, driving through Germany a few weeks back this was a major problem.
  18. I wouldn't expect more than £150
  19. Boycey, you read right I had a few problems with mine which eventually meant I traded it in. Similar situation to you 07 plate with 20k miles on it. It sounds like you were lucky to hear it from an ex-Nissan guy and he must have given the backing to get the problem sorted. I was left without such luck and it was such an uphill battle it was better to let the car go. Glad you sorted it though and hopefully no more problems!
  20. I call that a lucky escape! Bodyshop shouldn't charge too much to fix it.
  21. Don't forget your Mitsubishi jacket and pasty mate enjoy the car!
  22. Remakes are usually terrible, Beetle, Mini etc etc. The only exception is when rich people get involved such as the new Stratos which is sexy as hell!
