  1. I'm sure you were meant to write those grit grades in reverse sh*t yeah sorry to anyone planning to try it - its 1000 then 1500 then 2000 !! lolol I havent used any kit just the wet n dry, the T-cut and plenty elbow grease. Planning to machine polish next. I've a large roll of 12000, yes 12000, you should see the finish you can get with that as a final touch Mind you 6000 and then 8000 gives really good results in a shorter time span. If anyone needs a sample of 12000 to do this then drop me a pm, first 6 only I reckon some military issue toilet roll paper is the same grade infact no, its probably 2000 Not wrong! Being ex-military I always wondered why the stuff we had back in the 80's appeared to be waterproof

  3. M370 is an intake manifold made by Motordyne. Generally gives a fair chunk of mid range torque and a steady increase in BHP over the rev range, not sure what it's like on a OEM map mind you. Suits you're right, my bad, I forgot to mention the hefty increase in torque as that's the difference it really makes. Now I'm looking for someone to carry out the re-map, I know that abbey are the Holy Grail of all things Zed with regards to this but it's a bit of a trek. Can anyone recommend someone in the East of England, Norwich Cambridge?
  4. M370 is an intake manifold made by Motordyne. Generally gives a fair chunk of mid range torque and a steady increase in BHP over the rev range, not sure what it's like on a OEM map mind you. I installed the M370 and then went for quick drive, even on the 'bum dyno' I noticed a marked improvement. As has been well documented on the second best 350/370 forum it delivers around 14HP in the midrange with a loss of 2HP at the top end, think I can live with that For such a simple mod, took about 30 mins to install, it's pretty effective. Although some would say a bit of a cheeky price for what it is. However, you're right in thinking that I now need to get a re-map as I've now installed the Gen3 kit and an Injen exhaust - see my post under 'exhaust'. Can't rate this exhaust highly enough, even if I lost any previous gains due to this system (highly unlikely) I'd still keep it for the noise alone
  5. In addition to the Injen exhaust that Tarmac supplied he also sourced 2 new K&N filters for the Gen3, I previously had this installed on my 350. A lot easier to fit to the 370 though The M370, yep Tarmac Sportz again, went on sooo easy and as documented elsewhere works really well

    Injen CBE Install

Thanks for the comments, It's the sound that gets me Just had to do a run to the bottle bank, big BBQ last weekend, seriously considered taking 1 bottle at a time just to savour and prolong the experience as there's a drive under the A47 flyover. Sad...

    Injen CBE Install

Got to agree with the comment ''white is the best colour...' wish my previous Z, Night Blue 350, had been white

    Injen CBE Install

Cheers Chris, me and Photobucket just don't get on, well actually it's me 'cos I'm a biff Seriously impressed with the quality of this system; well packaged, beautiful finish all round, the welds are extremely good, everything lines up just so, the flanges are a work of art and not the usual 3/8 plate, and the install took me less than an hour. As for the sound, very, very satisfied a lovely deep burble at idle that just develops into a really sublime 'noise' under load, took it for a 130 mile drive yesterday afternoon just to savour it, even the wife likes it Yes I'll attempt a sound clip! It's been a pretty heavy Mod period to date; Stillen Gen3 install-ram air mod through the fang vents under development, powder coated wheels, 20mm spacers all round, Motordyne M370 Plenum-thanks Tarmac, red turret brace, red calipers...just waiting for the side blades, the Ings +1 front lip and a CF rear diffuser and then...where will it end? Oh, re-map now required. All in all I really can't thank Tarmac Sportz enough for all the advice, assistance and above all patience beyond reproach. As many of you know to your advantage this guy delivers
  9. Got to give a big 'thank you' to Tarmac sportz for this one, very happy with this <a href="http://s1303.photobu...8b328f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobu...zpse98b328f.jpg" border="0" alt="Ramp photo 2013-07-09122108_zpse98b328f.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s1303.photobu...a4fa8d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobu...zps2ca4fa8d.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2013-07-10075658_zps2ca4fa8d.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s1303.photobu...8b328f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobu...zpse98b328f.jpg" border="0" alt="Ramp photo 2013-07-09122108_zpse98b328f.jpg"/></a>

    Ouch!

Spotted a silver 350 on the back of a low-loader, front end damage, anyone on here? A47 just outside West Bilney
  11. Nice GM turning into the industrial estate yesterday afternoon, East Dereham, waved and got a thumbs up in return
  12. As a quick fix, cut up the wife's hot water bottle (it's summer now anyway) and wedge/bond a small piece of the rubber underneath the cross brace nut. Just a quick fix as raising the brace would be best. The rubber is thick enough and will not melt (you could probably re-tile the space shuttle with the stuff) had the same problem and this worked for me on my Gen3 intakes.
  13. Sorry but I have to disagree on this one, everyone else may do but I really do not check the mpg and I really don't care either . But then I've never been to a meet to check out the mpg of other cars , each to their own but I think I'd rather watch my dog moult...
  14. You could try driving with the windows down...you might just be able to hear the exhaust, even the noise of stones in the tyres are a welcome addition. Seriously though you're right it's too quiet, and I realise it's a blatant plug, but if Tarmac can't sort you out then all's lost I'm just waiting to get back home to install my Gen 3, Injen CBE and M370
  15. I've no idea what my 370 does to the gallon...and I don't care
  16. Show me the pics first and then I'll take a set in CF for the 370Z Got a price yet for the Ings CF splitter? Looking forward to getting back home, got some spanner twirling and modding to do All thanks to Tarmac.
  17. Looking good! I much prefer this look to skirts, if the 370Z ones are to the same style then count me in for a set.
  18. 370Z.com and search function will give all you need to know and more.
  19. Bit of an overkill just for a lawnmower...

    Front lip woes.

+1 Good idea if you don't fancy messing about with resin and glass mat, reckon that will work well.

    Front lip woes.

Let us know how you get on with this one. Just bear in mind that that fibreglass (the word glass is important here) is a polyester resin that is thermoset chemically and is not a thermoform plastic, much like an epoxy glue. If you apply too much heat it will blister and even catch fire, good luck with putting that out! I work with fire retardant GRP and you'd be amazed to see that even an oxy/acetylene torch wont do much over a 5 mimute plus period. That said it is possible to re-mould slightly and change the contour with extreme care, but after looking at the pics I think you might be asking too much to stretch it into another area. Remember, nothing sticks to fibreglass like more fibreglass, go get a kit and have fun!
  22. Try SamcoSport, hose number TCS216/C. Nine different colours to choose from, if you go to their site you can then 'dress' your engine bay in any of the colours...including gunmetal.

    Uh,Oh.

Mmm...I remember waiting for the wife to pick me up at Gatwick, thinking she was going to be driving her car. As I was stood there all I could hear was the screeching of tortured rubber as some loon was decending the multi storey, there's me thinking 'hire car, been there done that, wicked'. Then my 350Z came into view
